      I hope so too. There is absolutely nothing better that a young boy can do than learn to fight. School work important but fighting is what gives a boy the respect he needs. I really hope that he will become a hard fight and then you will be so proud of him.

    I really miss the old school muay thai. I was teaching and finally made my first trip to Thailand to train in 1999 and loved it. Today seems to commercial for me. Its always been commercial but now internationally. I miss the old redbull and shalambok shorts and m150 events!!! great fighters today though.

    Muay Thai is a combat sport from the muay martial arts of Thailand that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques.

    Good job, only wish it was longer. I'm heading to 96 Penang gym soon.
    You guys should hit up "Martial Profits, com".. if any of you guys want to train in Thailand for an extended of time that is. Subbed to the course linked on there about 5 months ago and I've since cancelled my flight home.. just living the dream here in Thailand now.

      Rick Behel, I am from Thailand but I could not find any reference, that's why I am asking you. Hope it is ok. Is it true that after fight u, Thai boxers, will have to be in ice cold water to reduce the injury? Where can I find more article about this?

    Check out "Muay Thai Documentary: The Boxers of Thailand" if you have an interest in photography. Most Muay Thai documentaries seem to be videos.

    The reason as to why I'm afraid to provoke anyone in Thailand. They(sometimes) learn Muay Thai at a young age, they are experienced fighters and if anyone(including myself) does not carefully pick a fight with someone. They are a dead man.

      How about you don't provoke anyone and act like a civilised adult?

    • @agro0
      @agro0 8 років тому +1

      Don't provoke, don't beat others, since it's never necessary. We no longer live in the middle age, fighting is pretty much a useless skill. Better get cunning and study a lot. People with knowledge (engineers, lawyers, economists, doctors) are the ones with money and power, not brainless rowdies.

    Topic of the documentary is interesting, indeed, but I feel that the design of the document is rather stereotype. Darker and low key imaging, shallow depth of field, lip seeks, hiphop musics.
    I'm afraid that such framework automatically makes stories.

    Please don't play US-American Hip Hop to a documentary set in Thailand. The Thai and the Thai boxers' mentality is entirely different from any ghetto gangsta rapper criminal. Boxing in Thailand is a way of earning money, a way of life and a part of national culture. It is not some ghetto bling bling homey lifestyle. Unlike American boxers, Thai boxers don't proclaim they want to eat their opponents' children and they don't start fights at press conferences. they are incredibly tough in the ring, but generally very well behaved outside.

    Most of them are really skinny

      So... It's the fighter that counts.

    • @deluxury3079
      @deluxury3079 10 років тому +10

      the reason why is because the cardio involved in martial arts is extremely high, they may look skinny but I assure you these young men are strong as a mofo, and since they have no body fat, their speed and accuracy is off charts.

    • @hughsouthon3128
      @hughsouthon3128 10 років тому +2

      There skinny but if they came to England and people called them out they would kick our asses most of them are starved so that explains the skinnyness

    • @deluxury3079
      @deluxury3079 9 років тому +2

      Hugh Southon Its not about size...its about technique and strength. Muaythai fighters are second to shaolin monks when it comes to body conditioning this means, muaythai fighters have extremely solid bones throughout the whole body. Amateur muaythai fighters can fuck up the average person who thinks they can fight, so imagine what professionals can do...

      yourtheman45 Most professional Thai boxers come from poor family, and the money reward (after the other parties get their cut) is for support their families.
