As an autistic person, this is overstimulating. I can’t look at this game without wanting to scream. Why is the floor like that? Why is there so much random shit everywhere? A sensory room is supposed to be calming, with some things to do BUT LIKE- this is too many bright colors and too many things

i have possible autism and/or ADHD and it’s just too much. i’ve been to sensory rooms before, and they were not as bright, in fact they were in the dark with gentle lights, and not as full. angels sensory room is really inaccurate.

Personally I love spaces with a lot of things around and a kindergarten aesthetic and very colorful bright colors, which I think is rare for autistic people (I'm autistic) but that's just horrible, especially cause most other autistic people apparently like more simple places with lighter, pleasant colors, honestly even I found the game icky XD, I only liked the room with a lot of lil lights, pillows, toys and plushies
The people were also extremelly mean and called me ableist cause my "tone was rude",, like what? What tone? This game feels like old creepy men would play it. Too MUCH infantile imagery. I get how it's comforting to some people, but at the same time it feels like it over-generalizes the entirety of its supposed audience. I'm not autistic, but this just makes me feel disgusted

Well (disclaimer I'm not trying to be rude here) the creator of the game is autistic and they say its their ideal sensory room, so I really see nothing inherently wrong with it. But yeah you're right about the old guys playing it, I don't like talking to people in the game because like, who knows..

so story time uhhhh, im an actual person with autism who got wrongfully banned from that game. my main account ironicly is banned for being ableist. the game alone misrepresents autism and the admins arnt very qualifyed for having this state of power. now i could see their motive of banning me, i had strong negative opinions for people who self dionose themselfs with autism. it makes the game seem like it is just to make have this illusion of safety when really, you are in a community that is made up of 40% of people who just go to these games to troll. and like any game that is made for certain community's, it has hate, for example the lgbtq+ hangout. but it makes me sad seeing that this game can not even create safe place where people with disabilities can chat in. it bans the wrong people and lets the wrong people in, its bad.

@@Azxcon the game itself now has a strict rule that your account must be atleast 1 year old to play. their way of banning people is just dumb and someone with little coding knowledge could make a game better then this. at stated in the video, its mostly free models.

i think a better game overall is crayzee's sensory room, which has specific rooms for specific fandoms which is cool, and there is more original builds in the game (still a bit poorly made w some free models scattered about) but definitely better than angel's. also can we just talk about the weird ass cafe w the mom in it 😭like everything else is innocent enough but like what
one time i was in the server with the person who made cookie (the mom person) but i didn't ask them anything...
and yeah i prefer crayzee's sensory room, atleast the devs are honest about the fact they use free models and give credit to the respective model owners.
and last thing i don't think the creator of cookie meant any harm in cookie's design... you could ask them if you ever meet them

i agree that crazee’s is much better than angel’s, but imo crazee’s is INSANELY overstimulating. is has an INSANE amount of colors and overall visual noise, it makes my head hurt. i’d also like to add that crazee’s is filled to the BRIM with queer exclusionists (people who basically think that there are “limits” to being queer); best of which includes being against lesboys (BEFORE I GET SWARMED i’d like to say that the term lesboy is made for *multigender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming lesbians.* it isn’t made for cis men to call themselves lesbian, that’s a misconception. yes i have done my respective research.) crazee’s is also against endogenic systems (which are systems that formed for reasons that aren’t trauma-based) which i won’t say much on

Personally I have no problem with having kindergarten aesthetics with bright colors assigned to me cause I like those but not only does the game absolutelly suck, most autistic people HATE that, and want a more simple space with less sensory things, most autistic people just get overstimulated with this and would go insane there, and don't even enjoy childish places

I don't have Autism, but I have been diagnosed with ADHD and do use fidget/sensory toys and such. I decided to try out this game because I had never really seen a sensory game before in Roblox. I immediately felt like this game was infantilizing with the whole aesthetic, but kind of just assumed it was that- just an aesthetic. Then I noticed just how little there was to do, how everything was free models, and watched somebody getting kicked from the game for metioning the fact that the whole vibe felt like a daycare and made them uncomfortable. I immediately exited the game after that.
Something I kinda wanted to mention is that I feel like, if somebody were to make a sensory game (which idk how you'd do it, but I guess if you want to I won't stop you), you'd have to make a good balance between stimuli. The entire decor of the room is overstimulating (crowded, some places have too much light or too little, etc), but the actual activities are understimulating (as in, there isn't much to do). It made me feel overstimulated, but didn't give me any good activities to actually relieve the pent up, tiring energy from being overstimulated. If you have bland, understimulating decor and and overly abundant amount of activities, that might not work either. People might come in, get overstimulated by the amount of activities, then not have anything to look at to take a break. You're going to be stuck, because people will be going to a sensory room game for different reasons: some understimulated and looking for a game to stimulate their senses, and others overstimulated and looking for a game to calm down. Others might even be coming because a lot of sensory stuff hits that ASMR trigger with sound sensory stuff. I really feel like, unless you put a very specific label on what your sensory room game has or is meant to help with, you are not going to be able to make a good game in the first place. Dealing with sensory issues isn't easy to put into a Roblox game. I actually find mobile apps to be much easier, since they are simple and I can change my environment because the game doesn't have an environment you're standing in. The environment is literally whatever area I am in, so I can change it however I please by just walking to a different room.

There used to be so, so much less. It was actually good (well it wasn’t really my thing but my sister who’s autistic really enjoyed it and had me play it with her once). But then the dev started to add more and more stuff, there were raids, a bunch of trashy stuff, and now it’s this.
I guess the game deteriorated over time, a lot of games turn out like that. I feel like once a lot of games get more popular and more attention, they turn worse and worse over time.

this game is a GIANT mixed bag for me. for one, it fulfills my own sensory needs and the environment is pretty comfy imo. on the other hand, it’s cluttered, it has an insane amount of controversy surrounding it, and there’s no chat anymore which sucks.
the solution? sensory world. it’s an amazing game that was only made about a year ago that is MUCH BETTER than any other sensory room i could find. for one, it has a consistent arcade/playplace thematic which i adore. second off, it has an insane amount of intractable items that still remain consistent to the theme. third, it has a credit/token system that works with the environment around it. fourth, BLÅHAJ!!! finally, it has BRIGHTNESS/MUTING SETTINGS!! YEAHHHH!!! it also doesn’t have any apparent controversy surrounding it either which is great.
so, moral of the story, make good game. goodbye -👻🌈

The staff is super entitled, they will literally ban you for approaching their character too close. Then they lecture me for some time and tell me im not getting the right care for my autism, as if they would be experts or know anything about me.
i’ve played this game before and nearly got banned for pointing out that a player was wearing a LITERAL DIAPER which was openly branded with a.. NSFW company. i dmed a moderator about it and they refused to do anything about it, because “well they could have a condition that they need it for” despite it being in a digital game. the staff team is so worried about inclusivity that they’re enforcing harmful stereotypes about the disabled community and letting horrid people into the games, which is the exact opposite of what you should be doing if you’re attempting to run a disability-focused game.
also, the “blacklisted terms/trigger list” was several ESSAYS long. you couldn’t talk about basically anything because they’d tell you it’s “triggering to people”. noped out of there really quickly and never went back 🤷♀️🤷♀️

Agreed on how it can’t achieve the feeling of tactile stims with its medium as an autistic person. And I would like to add that the audio aspect is a nightmare if a bunch of people are in it at once causing clashing noises.

I dont have autism, and have never been diagnosed with any disability, but(t) i do get overstimmed easily, and when i played this game it is nothing like a sensory room. I've been to a real sensory room/place with my cousin who has autism, and it was not as overstimulating/ overwhelming then Angels sensory room.
As someone with adhd, i know a lot of people with autism and a lot of actual issues, the room can be overstimulating and then an adding factor is once you do explore everything (at least for me personally), it gets extremely boring because you already know everything. Plus the whole sight is just an entire eye sore, it strains my eyes and it's just a lot. Sensory rooms shouldn't be this chaotic especially for people w/ actual issues. I agree with you though, This game really sets a bad example for how games for autistic people could/should be made, and if the wrong people who really are interested in helping the community see this, it could be harmful for those who do have autism.

I was diagnosed with autism when i was 2. I have very bad sensory problems and i find this game and also this kinds of people similar to the creator very insulting. They make autism seem like some kinda cute thing or baby thing. It is not cute. Nothing is cute about it. It makes my life very hard and to see people act like its some kind of personality trait really annoys me.

Honestly, Angel’s Sensory room has potential. I do like the idea of a nostalgic, positive, childhood themed sensory room that you can go to for a small break. But the way the devs portrayed everything, and the way they’re being “inclusive” is just wrong. I personally want to make a sensory room game now, but as a better version of ASR.
The thing is, is that the setting of the game isn’t like that because of nostalgia. The creator simply make it like that to baby autistic people like it’s a daycare. My comments are filled with people who ARE autistic saying that this is the problem within this game.
as an autistic person myself, I'd want to make it a parody horror game with the exact same name as this game with a relevant message just to take the piss out of them lol

I'm autistic and I have absolutelly no problem with places that have bright colors, a kindergarten aesthetic and a lot of objects but the game just sucks and even I hated it 💀😭 the way it was executed ew, the people in the game and the disgusting mods, please make a game of how it would feel for most autistic people to be there irl XD with lil internal dialogue messages over the screen like "That's too much" "what's happening" "stop, ow my ears" "this is hell" "where's the bathroom?!", the vision going weirdly blurry, random sounds randomly becoming overly loud and overlaying eachother horribly, the colors going bright neon and flashing across the screen, camera defocusing, time going slower or faster and just a sound of ur own heavy breathing
And there's an option to fall on ur knees, close ur eyes and cover ur ears with ur hands to slightly prevent the aggressive sensory XD

yeah looking back, this game is just such a cluttered eyesore. there's so many colours happening and all these structures that don't make sense and all these sounds happening, it's a lot. i'm not personally super bothered by it but i know there's other autistic people who definitely would be, and i think having such an unorganised mess of a sensory room is really not helpful at all. there's so much shit going on that it just makes it more stressful. this game is ironically not very accessible either. the only AAC board they have is secluded in one area of the map and is _very_ limited to just basic communication, no way to change the colours so they're not so jarring and there's no option to mute any of the other stim stuff in the room without muting the whole game. it's such a badly made sensory game that it hurts.
i think if i were to make a sensory game, i'd have it so you can teleport to different maps that all have different sensory things for people with different needs, so you don't just have to deal with a cluttered mess, make the colours less bright and more consistent to a specific palette, add some little minigames so it doesn't get boring, have the option to change the visual effects and sounds, and have it so the AAC board is an onscreen clickable thing and isn't secluded to one area of the damn map and actually has more options, because _god_ that pisses me off. like why tf does it just limit an accessibility feature to one part of the map. that's so ableist and unfair to people who want to actually play the game and need that.

Sensory rooms are specifically meant for regulating your senses, and having such loud sound effects and random harsh lighting effects isn't regulating anything, in fact it makes me feel so grossed out because it feels so infantilizing. I heard a story about an admin banning someone for not supporting endo “systems”. Which is not a wrong thing to not support. Endos are literally going against the most BASIC criteria for DID which is repeated or severe childhood trauma! They are not valid and never will be because of that reason. And the fact an admin BANNED someone over something like this is irresponsible. If they are all for neurodiversity then they should know that endo systems are not a valid identity.

This means that endo systems completely go against that material and cannot be diagnosed DID systems. This person knew that endo systems almost “mocked” real systems and were trying to defend themselves and the DID community then got banned for it.

I'm autistic, and the mods in that game made me feel ASHAMED for being autistic like... they would verbally scold people for their special interests or hyperfixations if it was "inappropriate" and would defend this statement by saying '6 year olds play this game!!" (the majority of people that played that game were 15 and older...)
one mod in particular made my friends and i infuriated the most. i wont name names but he was in his 20s and would constantly claim everyone was trying to 'harm minors' because we had non-childish interests? not every autistic person is obsessed with kids cartoons and kids toys!! the game itself was incredibly infantilizing of ND people, because as you said, it looks like a daycare. and YET, the mods ban age-regressors... even though that is a coping mechanism and the decor in the game literally invites it by being whimsical and childish lol. Among so much more degeneracy, the game and its creators suck...

I have a personal experience from this game. A moderator with the username ironboy and some numbers joined my server and started server announcing political topics and forcing a political view onto people who were trying to relax. He threatened to ban me because I asked him why he was forcing political view onto people in a “comfort game.” He then teleported me to him and forced me to read a sign about Gaza and Palestine, and the sign claimed that every single person living there is disabled, but im not going to get into that sign for obvious reason. He also referred to me as a bigot. The mod team sucks. I never played again after that experience. It was not okay. They do not overwatch their mods and what they do to their players, and if someone has a different opinion than a higher role, youre more than likely to get banned, its just kind of cruddy. I am also autistic, and this game is more overstimulating than calming actually, its so stupid. This game is the complete opposite of a comfort game, 0/10, dont recommend, and dont support the creators or mod team.

Angel (the game’s creator) is a neurodivergent person themself. Not all autistics are monotone the same. It doesn’t appeal to others but it appeals to them. They made the game to be their own sensory room not everyone else’s. To clarify I am autistic and I find no problem with this game. It’s actually good.

I play it I think last year, and I always in the room with pillows where you can't see no one, and lay there for a while, because it comfortable, and just left.
