The Hephthalites, also known as the White Huns, were a group of Central Asian people who rose to power around the 5th century AD. They were nomadic warriors known to have inhabited a large territory stretching from Central Asia to the Indian Subcontinent. Although their origins remain uncertain, they were significant in the history of regions like India and Persia during the 5th and 6th centuries CE. Referred to as Hunas by Indians and Ephthalites by the Greeks, the White Huns were known for their agricultural practices, developed legal system, and integration into the cultures of the lands they conquered .

I think they were Scythians. Forefathers of Jats and Rajputs of South Asia.
