I remember playing SMM1 and feeling so damn smart after intensely studying Yamamura's Dojo (maybe it had a different name, idk it's been a minute). I then proceeded to make a Timothy level
Not bad man. I have a few steps when I make traditional levels. Step 1: Pick a Gimmick. (Gimmick can be based on a certain mario enemy or object.) Step 2: Build around the gimmick you chosen. Step 3: Add supporting elements. (1 or 2 type of enemies can be use as supporting elements, same thing with objects) Step 4: Add creativity to the level. (Nobody likes a bland level, so expand your creativity around it and make it look nice. Step 5: Add challenges. (Adding challenges for the player can make your level look a little bit better.) Step 6: Your done. (You just have finished creating a level the player would love.) Maker ID: 6RS-D46-RFG

If you are soft locked by the level, an unobtainable mushroom should spring out from from one of the blocks that you are unable to break so that the player can watch it slide off of the screen and into the void.
Sometimes, all it takes is a little pigeon man (you go yamamura) to make all your problems go away. As someone who has made so many moments with that little bird man, nice to see him get some love sometimes
The jump Nina calls unmakeable is actually makeable by either jumping and midair spinning twice or jumping normally and then walljumping your way up (But you have to spin after every walljump or else you'll lose height)
I vividly remember that the very first thing i ever did in mm2 was go through every yammamuri lesson, and then made a level using all knowledge i knew.

The dialogue for these tutorials is unreasonably funny.
Nina is a really relatable character. Especially with the level/course thing, which is funny for the game itself to actually acknowledge.
If you are soft locked by the level, an unobtainable mushroom should spring out from from one of the blocks that you are unable to break so that the player can watch it slide off of the screen and into the void.
