    we used to make them out of flat metal sheets, can use on grass and snow

    what did you use to connect pole/shafts to sled? i am building my own as well and am trying to figure out what is best way to attach pole to sled .

      I used a 2.5" reese hitch as well as 2.5" square tube. I think thats what the amish use single and double based on the pioneer catalog. Havent tried it double but 2.5x 1/4" square tube is awfully stout
