The folks missed out on a whole lotta great music when this marvelous talent left us all to soon. County today can't touch the music of the 50's and 60's. Thank you to those who are now gone who gave us so much!
Just imagine all the legendary performers that got their exposure on Louisiana Hayride... Hank Williams, Elvis, Jim Reeves, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, George Jones, Little Jimmy Dickens, Buck Owens, Webb Pierce, Kitty Wells, Faron Young and others as well. A who's who of country Legends.
I was with a friend and two sisters. One of the ladies knew of a bar at the airport in Racine,Wisconsin and suggested we go there. There was no one in the bar and we ordered drinks and I went up to the jukebox and it was loaded with Johnny Horton record’s and there was a banjo hanging on the wall. I asked him if like Johnny Horton and he said that played the banjo on the recordings for Johnny Horton and he started showing me this pictures of him when he was younger.
I once had a beautiful dream that I was at John Cashs house and that John Horton was there with gorgeous Billie Jean, June Carter, Claude King with his wife Barbara, so on and so forth, THE GREATEST DREAM I EVER HAD IN MY LIFE PAL!!!!!!
Glenn Johnson AWESOME!It does`nt get better than this.Cant believe i stood right where Johnny recorded this, last year.Never forgotten moment.Thankyou for this.
I can't help but think of the wealth of talent we all have been deprived of from accidents..Horton, Reeves, Cline, Copas, Hawkins, Clark, Columbo...
