Hey love - fellow Toronto actor here! I totally understand what you are going through. I left a toxic job last month with no backup plan because I just couldn't do it anymore. I was faced with some tough decisions, mainly whether or not to take a corporate job with less flexibility to pursue acting... I felt totally confused and frustrated... and then I booked the biggest acting job I've ever gotten. You can do it. Keep going. Your opportunity is right around the next corner 🩷
I LOVE THIS! I truly need to hear this kind of stuff more!!! First of all, huge huge huge congrats to you honey… honestly 🫶 sometimes taking a big risk is what makes your career into something truly fascinating!!! Love this🫶💕🤩
Just as an idea, maybe try Uber Eats? I recently started cuz I have a toddler, and realistically I can't have my 9-5 plus a 6-10 or something.. like I'd never be home, and that's just not good. With deliveries you can set your own hours and wear whatever you want, discover new places in the city, etc. Of course there's wear & tear on your car, but pros and cons.. and, tbh, you barely deal with shitty customers. If you wanna go home, you can! If you wanna push through for a while longer, you can! I've been enjoying it and if you have good knowledge of where good restaurants are with good tippers or frequent orders, you're set.
Definitely something to think about! I’ve played with the idea around, but haven’t taken it seriously…. Might be the time too especially how easy the flexibility can be!
What your bf told you about not wanting to be an Actor anymore were exactly my same feelings. I am currently based in Vancouver and is really not good here. Plus all the red tapes that this city has even if you want to do BG on the side. You are only allowed to have one Agent for BG versus Toronto were you can have as many Agents are you want for BG. I hear you about having to deal with toxic jobs and the toll it takes on you just so you can be available to audition any time. I need a break at the moment .
Oh honey I so feel you on this, truly!!! Taking a break can be such a nice and rewarding feeling. It’s so interesting to hear some issues that Vancouver has…. I guess every city has its pros and cons as well to the industry. Take a deep breath, take a moment and take a break if you need it! You are absolutely right, the industry really has changed around a lot….
Manifesting that big booking for you honey. You’re such a light in this world and deserve the best ❤️
Ugh thank you honey💕 needed to hear this today so much… 🫶💖🫶
