Population: this freaking thing 🔥🔥🔥 *Massive thanks to Skillshare for sponsoring today's video!* The first 1,000 people to use this link will get a 1 month free trial of Skillshare: skl.sh/agufish02221
Hunter like to poke fun at 80’s Shred guitars… This coming from a generation that likes to eat tide pods. 😂🤣
Yep I def need another Kramer
So, … that intro music is a personal composition? Anthemic!
They always are! Went full 80s on this one… or at least tried to lol

That guitar is out. Of. Bounds.
The perfect title dosen't exi-
I once tried to install a D-Tuna on my PRS Floyd and immediately regretted it.
Out of curiosity, why is that?
@@agufish Whenever I would try to shift between drop and standard, all the strings would go out of tune. D-Tunas only function on the kind of Floyd you have on this guitar, as opposed to on the kind that goes both up and down.
Well...yeah. The D tuna drops the string tension. And if your Floyd is floating it changes the balance and therefore puts it out of tune. You have to block it off to only dive. Did it not mention any of this in the instructions for the D tuna?
I bought one of these some time ago, but the previous owner had an EMG 81 instead of the stock JB, honestly love how it sounds and the neck's super comfy too
Kramer need to make some new, leftys, and bass models for the their modern collection. They should do a firebird with a kahler some fishmans and a moderne with an roasted maple plus a evertune. And dare I say it, a corvus with what ever the hell they want.
I pulled the trigger on a lefty Jumper Red Baretta yesterday.....I cannot wait!!!!!
Your best song yet!
I think you zoned out there for a moment! 😉
Congrats btw!
I like it. I really like the Allen key holder because I know I’m going to lose mine some day.
Watch it get taken down again 😂
I didn't expect a memberberrys reference. Good job, Chad.
It feels so weird hearing my name so many times……
lemme guess thats the brand u play now! =)
I have a few Kramers. I got the Assault 220 in black and red. Love it.
I still cant get an answer from Kramer when Dave Mustaines signature flying V is coming out. No pre orders either. It must be so it doesnt hinder the Gibson sales.
Yeah nooo idea. They’re pretty good these days across the Gibson family about not formally announcing anything until it’s ready to drop in the next two weeks!
@@agufish I get that. Kramer is blaming it on the factory. Im sure they have a warehouse full lol
Sucks to be named Chad, huh, Hunter?
I think its cool, i just wish it had a contour heel joint. That said, i'd buy it if i didn't already have a list of guitars a mile long that you've demo'd that i also want to buy.
It's utterly ridiculous in every possible way and I really really want one
I've got one on reverb that could be yours! Lol
WHAT
Bro, your lead playing just keeps getting better!
Thanks, man!
In the first 5 ! Oh yeah brother 💪 Great Video
love that guitar always wanted one.
I dunno. I grew up playing with Hotwheels, and I do think this is gorgeous. But a grand? Not for me. Plus I just recently got addicted to Ibanez, so...
Lol same here. I had to sell music man majesty for the Ibanez AZ
Same
Lol
@@hoangnguyennguyen1032 LOL
Ibanez squad
i really dig their Night Swan. Those models are freakin' killer!
Charvel is the same place as EVH and you need to compare it to the striped or 5150 series which they are directly copying.
It’s ugly, raunchy, and still iconic for some reason. Just like the 80’s
They totally aren’t my kind of guitar. But, I’ve played several Kramer’s lately. I’ve loved all of them! They play great, they sound awesome! Not my style, but I am definitely a fan now!
Nissssssssssssssssssce 🍻
In the first 5 !! Oh yeah brother 💪
Damn dude, that opening song was FANTASTIC!!!!!
It's a shame that 80's metal is not your thing. Every time you demo one of these Kramers your original track is on fire. Great playing!
I love the graphics and sparkle blue paint
I love flames on guitars
Your demo tracks are always sick, always very creative, never boring. Keep jamming.
Your song at the beginning was particularly good.
Is the demo track already on Patreon?
would love for you to check out the baretta special. you don’t need to make a video or anything, but man. for 200 bucks, i genuinely feel like i’m playing an american fender quality wise. a new pickup and a locked trem later, and i’m just in love
That was one of my favorite demo tracks you've ever done. (Although I could be biased because I love 80s Metal)
I love the paint job!
Nice review Hunter. I really like Kramer's. I wasn't impressed, looking at them on paper, but like you said, they feel substantial when you pick them up. Adding the d-tuna is an awesome addition. I may have to get another one now. I've had my eye on the sm-1. That thing looks like a beast. The barettas are just so 80's cool though. 🤘
This episode hits different for me, I’m only 24 but most of the guitar music that made me wanna play guitar that my dad showed me was all 80s and my first real guitar was an Aria pro II crackle FR super strat and would totally rock this guitar in drop B or some shit
Jesus Christ what's under the hood what deviish sounds
We would totally rock that guitar. Awesome Sauce
you rocked it! looked good playing that
Props for playing Some Kind Of Monster. Production aside, that's a killer riff.
Fun Fact If I still had that 1968 hot wheels camaro my parents purchased for 98 cents today it's worth more than that guitar.
I'm a huge Kramer fan. I've got two baretta specials and an old Focus that I've turned into an evh tribute. Kramer and Charvel imo have the best feeling necks out there
bro... that was your best song so far... loved the mix
Thanks. Been a Kramer fan boy since I bought my Nightswan sometime around 1989. Actually the guitar you are reviewing has a series/parallel switch, not a split.
Literally my favorite guitars.
I have the baretta special and the 84. Plus the pacer and Kramer nail it every time
I would love to see Hunter review an EvH Wolfgang, so little good videos of those things but they play like butter!
Busting out the Motley Crue riff was the perfect choice for this video lol
Very impressive. The PU sounded excellent. Beefy but tight lows make it sound killer fat!
I love 80s guitars especially ones with modern specs added too... they're probably one of the best selling guitars. I mean look at charvel and ibanez they sell theirs like hotcakes.
The fretboard radius wil be 32cm (in proper units), which converts to 12.6 inches.
Anyone else noticed the guitars in the background changed and there actually is a Kramer 84 Illusionist on a stand?
I wish we could get a D tuna for hard tails for live shows with multiple tunings.
I think ive held that exact guitar in my hands
I come in peace, with one message : yes it does.
If it had a matching headstock and a stacked humbucker neck pickup, it would be close to perfect! Oh yeah, also needs a kill switch!
It’s not matte black…it’s not sandblasted, so I love it!
Thought about a d tuna for all of my Floyd’s (blocked them all. Idk why i went on a Floyd kick and bought 3 of them lol) and then realized, idk how to play in standard and only play in droptunings 🤷🏻♂️ it’s a genius concept though
I love the 80s jam. I love it when u get inspired. Cause I like you and the style of metal u mostly play, but it can get a bit much.
Dude this thing looks way cool. Cheesy maybe but I dig this finish. No shielding in the cavity?
Diners, Drive-ins and Dive bombs!!!!
i just want a kramer 650g ( aluminium neck one ) they are soooo fking cool and a great guitar for stoner doom metal
It definitely should exist
Gotta say, the White Lotus one is my favorite by far of the graphic series. Who knocks at the garden gate?
I wasn't big on this guitar because I loathe flames on a guitar idk it's cheesy but actually after this video I like it a little better.
He says in a interview he cant sing or play any instruments but yet he has a signature guitar... LAME, but whatever. I also saw he has a signature pick you can buy too. lmao But I still love Kramers.
As much a I hate the way it looks your intro jam was one of your best so it must be working in some ways!!
Try to get a Baretta Special and compare them. Curious where the corners were cut for the Special, besides the Floyd.
Electronics and hardware
Mahogany body on the Special, maple body on the vintage and alder on the custom graphics.
6screw trem on the special vs floyd (with d tuner on the custom graphics) on the others
In house pickup on the special vs Seymour Duncan JB on the other 2
That demo track was soooo cooool ! I love the guitar, I wont buy, but I love it 😅
That’s pretty much how I feel, too lol. Kind of love it. But definitely will not keep it 😂
I’ve been looking into maybe getting a Kramer, but I get this weird feeling to just look into something else. I feel like between Kramer and Charvel it’s like there is a missing body style I’m looking for.
My roommates boyfriend had his leg taken off and he is in a wheelchair while he waits for a prosthetic. So when I'm wheeling him around in his wheelchair I call him hot wheels lol like here we go hot wheels or u ready hot wheels haha...
It's a sweet axe
This gives me east bound and down vibes
Uhhmm did you added that a distortion pedal?
Not my thing but it is pretty cool! I’m sure the intended player would be very happy with this
That guitar is so hairmetal that I nearly grew my hair back. A bit cheesy maybe, but also cool.
Okay…first of all…that’s an awesome track you wrote. I am definitely going to make a one minute solo for the gram on that one. Secondly….I realize that this is cheesy and a little bit cringe…but wasn’t it SUPER fun to play? I want the purple cheap version of this. The Barretta Special. They are like 180 bucks. Nice job bro 🤘🏻
First here this time!!!!
No one on youtube is sneakier with the advertisements than you, random facts about Hot wheels on a guitar video then BAM! "Use Skill Share!"
cool!
I'm having a brain fart that's gonna drive me crazy wtf song was that riff from he played at 9.14... also what's he playing at 13.10?
I really like the feral cat graphic but I like the 84 guitar more than the barreta , I really like the tiger 🐅 pacer... they have the cheaper classic pacer and I want that purple passion one , the night v is awesome and really affordable too.. Wow wtf they got a cobra Kai guitar coming out omg and a top gun haha awesome mfers are gonna buy the shit out of that strike first one.
I LIKE FLOYDS! Sorry, Hunter, but I had to lead with that. I don't like single pickup guitars; they're not versatile. EVH's Frankenstrat would not work for me, for instance. Kramer gets no love from me for having all those Frankenstrat wannabes. Might be a great guitar for someone else, though.
I, too, would like to see Kramer do something more modern. One huge reason why both Kramer and Jackson/Charvel tanked out and were eaten by Gibson and Fender (respectively) was that they didn't see grunge and the resultant end of 80s shred and hair metal coming and didn't react fast or well enough to avoid their doom. I think that Kramer is looking down almost the same barrel as it seems like they're depending on the nostalgia factor. It can't last! If Gibson wants to maintain Kramer as viable, they're going to have to make Kramer relevant in its own right! Roasted maple, Fluences, stainless steel frets and EverTunes are just some of the things that Kramer should look into embracing - before the brand needs to be retired AGAIN!
I completely agree. They can keep the same classic design but a roasted maple neck would be great. I’ve also thought a Baretta 24 (24 frets) would be a cool idea.
I need this. Send it to me
MONEY!!!
That's certainly a very interesting guitar... There's someone out there who this is perfect for, but for me, while it looks fun, I don't think this one is for me
Finally nice to see a d-tuna work properly. That said this is the first time I've heard a JB and not liked how it sounded. Just not digging this one. Video though was killer as always. Looking forward to the next one.
I think the problem with low views is the fact most people have no interest in owning a guitar that looks like that. One without hotrod flames would have probably been a better option.
Also the JB sounded just plain weird. I think the SH6 Distortion in the Charvels just suits the guitar a lot more.
Always so much gain it's muddy. Love the guitar reviews.
honestly the new kramers are super weak
I am a child of the 80’s. Might play well, but the 80’s were not so cool
Comment
I mean, you could spend money on so much other stupid shit in life. If this hot rod esthetic is your bag then this thing looks the business, and I will testify the 80's were fucking rad!
I had a Charvel that had that little allen wrenh on the back of the neck. HUGE regret selling that thing!
thanks, I hate it. I want it, but I hate it. ????
