Well done. "this tu-tor-i-al was ex-cel-lent! excellent! excellent!"
Thank-you Earth-ling ;)
Lol really funny
I love this video, such a useful and eady tutorial, and a friendly, inviting host to boot. Definitely earned a like!
Much appreciated!
Audacity is really a great, free program. Been using it for many years to clean up my audio. Thanks for this tutorial. I mean, we all need a dalek in our back pocket. LOL Looking forward to your sci-fi short. I have actors, so I had to put a hold on mine because of this lockdown
LOL, we do indeed all need a Dalek :) Thanks for watching :)
Just tried this and it works brilliantly. I'm making my own home movie and been looking for a Dalek voice that works so thanks for doing this tutorial. I'm having fun trying out different Dalek voices!
Glad I could help!
My lord, this is actually really good.
Thanks for watching
WOW!!!! William, thank you so much for this video! It's short, concise, and to the point! 👍 Now, I can create my own Doctor Who fan-fiction audio stories! 😉
I look forward to seeing more of your videos! You just earned a new subscriber and friend! 😎
Hey, I found you whilst browsing for editing tips and I absolutely love your personality. Keep up the good work & good luck with your channel! ❤
Thank you so much!!
This channel really is a treasure-trove of ideas. Especially dealing with readily available free resources (Sony Vegas Pro being an exception, of course).
Glad you like it. Thanks for watching :)
Finally a decent one I can actually follow.
Thanks for watching :)
before you added the last effect it sounded like a classic who dalek
Definitely earned a sub, such a friendly guy and made the tutorial easy and understandable good job
Thanks for the sub!
Good one. I happen to have audacity and my friends say I can do a pretty good dalek. I tried it this morning and it sounds like the daleks from Dr. who. Thanks for the insight.
You're welcome
Beautiful tutorial! Short, sweet, and perfect results!
Thank you! 😊
Amazing!! Thanks a lot. I searched for
quite a while and most i found was either 'fake' (didnt sound really like a dalek) or too complicated. You're my 'Hero of the day' today! :)
Glad you liked it!
Excellent, well presented, concise and open source software 👍 I will be using this effect on our Christmas lights display 😱🤣 Many thanks
Thanks! Just used this for my Fiverr demo. Worked Excellently.
Great to hear!
This is super easy and super awesome!

@@TheMeejahChannel No problem. I used the audio I made for a short animation that I posted for a competition here: ua-cam.com/video/NYqY1O9I4Ww/v-deo.html
Very good tutorial!

I had issues with the killeringer plugin, and couldn't get it, but this was such a good backup! Thank you so much!

Glad you like it!
This is exactly what I needed!
Glad it helped
Thanks William, I am now curled up under my computer desk in the foetal position. As a child growing up in the mid 60s the Daleks SCARED THE CRAP out of me!!! I thought I was over it, I guess not. I'm going to need some serious therapy.... or I could just man up, get another coffee and keep re-watching your early videos.
LOL, Cheers! Thanks for watching :)
You helped me out with that nice piece of information.
Glad to hear it!
Very useful tutorial! Thank you
You are welcome!
I am building a full size DALEK with my after school club and thought about an alternative to a hardware Ring Modulator. This is great. Now thinking how we can do this live.
Glad it was helpful
brilliant thanks a lot for this tip.....
You're welcome!
Thank you, great tutorial!
You're very welcome!
This was really good!
Cheers. Thanks for watching :)
This will be so helpful for my next animated video.
Excellent!
That's pretty impressive tbh, you can still here your voice slightly, maybe adding more effect on the 2nd. But overall its brillaint
Thanks for watching
Fantastic stuff, William!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Love it. Thanks for sharing the tips. For absolutely no reason at all ... feel free to share any Cyberman related settings you might bee aware of. :)
Will do!
Brilliant

However long it takes, it will be worth the wait. I did try doing a Dalek Voice with Audacity a year or more ago. It sounded more like a drunk Italian. I will be giving this a go and if I get it right, I will use it on my Phones Answering Machine.
I think you should definitely do a "How to do a drunk Italian on Audacity" video ;)
Ha! Ha! If only I could. It was a fluke and I can't remember how I did it. My next attempt sounded like Morse Code in hisses. I gave up after that.
Very cool. I wonder if it could do Earthshock Cyberman
thank you
You're welcome
Can you do a toturial for the reaper application too?
thanks !
You're welcome!
I probably would have put a shift pitch on it as well and bring it up slightly higher, or just speak in a higher register. I wish there was a way it could be done in real time with one’s phone, the only ones I’ve seen aren’t free and from what research I’ve done, suck. Except for, you know, what Nick Biggs uses when he does the but that would be expensive.
Anyway brilliant tutorial!
This explains joe vevers dalek parodies
Hey meejah, i love your tutorial. Could you please make a LUT ( color graiding ) . Will appreciate it so much.
Stay save. Best thing for you.
I will try!. Thanks for watching :)
Thanks, Will. Get more video lessons on Audacity
Cheers! Thanks for watching :)
Thank you SOOOOO MUCH! I’ve been looking for a way to BE a dalek! Know how to get a classic like dalek voice?
Glad I could help!
The Meejah Channel also do you know how to do a classic dalek voice?
Holy shit pro tip, if you make your voice a bit deeper, BOOM you are now the Supreme Dalek-
Excellent!
My audacity doesn't allow me to set the frequency in tremolo more than 10. Do you have any special settings?
Interesting. I always imagined that the Daleks' "voices" were electronically translated and reconstructed by an internal computer. After all, they spoke (or perhaps thought) to each other in another language. Just another way of a mentally superior, yet physically primitive, race to communicate with other species. Like the Cylons of "Galactica", or the aliens in the old movie "Earth vs. the Flying Saucers".
Oh yes.
Can you access this online as a website?
Can you do a Cyberman one as well?!
I'll look into it.
Sir Please In The Next Video Please Explain Dolly Zoom Effect
2nd. Thanks!
Cheers! Thanks for watching :)
i mean cool if im making a video later but im looking for a voice effect live to goof with people im talking to right now not to record lines for later i need somthing that works as i talk
Then you probably need something like this: amzn.to/3tWrXhm
why i cant use distortion?
Thumbs up.
Cheers Eggy :)
It would be better if you had a preview of the final result at the start.
Thanks for watching.
Dude thanks. That killerringer plugin just wasn't doing it.
No problem :)
1:00 to 1:05 i heard like the dalek was goin from right to left :o
Yes, I panned the audio 🙂
It’s a ring modulator which is used actually
I can't do it...Someone can help me please ?
If it’s possible, could you do a tutorial for a Cyberman voice?
I'll check it out.
is it possible to achieve this effect live while talking rather than prerecorded?
Not with audacity.
Mine doesn’t have distortion
I might try this software to do a Dalek message to Butlin's after they heartlessly cancelled my booking because I wanted to go on a family break on my own at their Skegness Resort over Christmas (this was before the government announced that holiday places in Tier 3 have to remain closed), since I'm still angry with Butlin's! lol😂
They will be EX-TER-MIN-A-TED! 😄
@@TheMeejahChannel The Resort Safety Team Members and Booking Team Members at Butlin's head office will definitely be exterminated! lol😂
@@TheMeejahChannel I installed Audacity and tried the settings that you used for the Dalek voice and it definitely sounded like a Dalek, but the only thing different that I did was raise the pitch a litte bit afterwards to make it sound more Dalek like, and I was happy with the result.😉
@@sambee8982 Excellent!
@@TheMeejahChannel I've now created and uploaded the Dalek message to Butlin's video. I hope that you like it: ua-cam.com/video/Gsio6PV332g/v-deo.html
Do you know how to sound like a cyberman?
I don't have the distortion button
The effects column is longer than the page. You need to press the little arrow at the top ( or bottom,) of the column to see the full list.

Is there a clever way to make it more convincing if you have a woman's voice?
I made a good voice changer for this but I just can't get my actual voice to match it
My voice is too deep and when I try to pitch it up it sounds more like a DALEK ate a rabid squirl
:)
Try doing the emperor Dalek. He had a deep voice. That may work for you.

Me trying to find out how to make a dalek voice
damn my voice doesn't fit it
I HAVE A CHALLENGE for you if you have not already made a video on this subject. If not please consider. SO i have been searching for tips on a certain Film and editing technique that seems pretty vague when it comes to peoplel talking about it. Although it is basically a part of Motion Tracking and maybe just only that but different. Let me explain the best i can by giving an example of A scene i want to shoot with my Digital HD Video Camera. Ok here we go.
Major Studios have been doing this for years and years. A good prime example is The Movie Cloverfield. With the giant Godzilla Monster and the Blair witch styled Handi Cam "Found Footage". So in that Movie They had a guy with a camera running around just filming whatever. Then there is a shot where the guys running and points the camera up to see the monster. The Camera flailing all over the place and stuff.
So i already know how to chroma key and green screen. and add Literally anything i want into a live video recording. background. or robot. or Spaceship up in the sky. Adding Still images and moving images is easy as pie when your camera is still and doesnt move. BUT HERE IS THE QUESTION. How do you add the same exact thing in with a shaky cam. I want to be able to run with my camera and look back and have a giant mech robot walking in the background as im running and things like that.
I already know how to make the still scene shake and look like a person is holding it. But that only goes so far. I need to understand how motion tracking fits into that particular thing.
Do you have any tips or easier methods for that? Thanks for your time. This has been something i couldnt figure out.
Also ill come right back after i copy one of my movie trailers in here for you to see. Its pretty cool.
Here i found it. This is the Movie im filming now. This is the trailer. One of them that is. I have no real exp. Just half my life making short little movies and a basic understanding and passion for editing. ua-cam.com/video/BE3lxBppydQ/v-deo.html
Oh and this is a trailer for Season 2 of The Battletech Web Series i film and direct. Check it out! ua-cam.com/video/4lotwZOu3xg/v-deo.html
Is this just not the same as motion tracking?
Are you by any chance Welsh? Because I'm Welsh and despite not having the accent I know a Welsh accent when i hear one
Absolutely - I'm a Gog. Diolch am wylio.
Ex(terminate)cellent!
I didn't use for my. Movie I didn't need green screen I used. Black screen and space filters of five video check it out if u want it's called. Star jock. And it's a pending. Work work in progress. Use it if u want too I want to help u and u help Me ok I'm getting a new laptop soon I'll move my stuff to my new laptop which is a hp
