The mop is our favorite! Whenever we have floor spills or even potty training accidents we both get out our mops. It makes me feel a lot better to see them help! ❤ The puppet theater wasn’t sturdy enough to leave up as a playhouse for my 3 and 1 year old girls. My daughter plays a lot with the dowels and connectors still.

I have this kit coming in the mail in June and super excited! My kids are still addicted to the Observer toys but I am so so so so bored of these toys hahaha. And a big YES to Sarah’s silks. I already have a hoard of them because they are SUCH beautiful items. So I can’t wait to use them on the fort kit.
I will say though, I actually don’t mind that they send smaller sets such as the tea set and the fort kit. Some kids just don’t like any of these, and I feel a bit stupid having a huge set no one is using. I eventually upgraded my kid’s tea set to the Melissa and Doug stainless steel one (it’s AMAZING. Dishwasher safe and food safe!). I figure if my kid likes it, I’ll definitely buy a bigger fort kit. They can also be used with my pikler arch and play couch as extensions.

Those Sarah silks that you recommend look beautiful and I think I will put them on my wish list for Christmas my family's always asking what to get her and her birthday is so close to Christmas.

My son was 18 months old when Lovevery added the book subscription to their store and I made the decision to not only add the new up coming books to my quarterly order, but to go back and buy the books that would have been in previous play kits. The only books I skipped were the black and white books from the 0-3 month kit, but we grabbed everything else. I must say I have no regrets. My son had finally hit the stage were he is requesting I read to him and is also looking through books on his own without trying to destroy them. He has read all of his Lovevery book many times over in the past two months, even those amid at younger babies, like the wooden animals book, (he loves to flip through that book and make the animal noises,) or the teething book, (has helped with his teething for his molars.) But in all honesty the Montessori style board books are his bread and butter. Especially all the interactive books with textures, flip tabs and scratches and sniff spots. I have never seen anything else like them. Leo and Melody at the Farm and Ready to Go: Pee are his favorite books at the moment. Both are add on books, (although one used to be in The Realist play kit, but was removed about 1.5 to 2 years ago. Now we know why.) If you have it in your budget to pick these books up I don't think you will be disappointed.

So good to hear! I just got a massive box of most of the books we've been making our way through! My hypothesis on the add-ons for this play kit were spot on - she's had us read the naming ceremony 8 times yesterday morning lol Honored to help has been a little slower, because it hits a bigger nerve I think (parent leaving), so she'll have us read that each day, but not over and over. I've noticed she does that was books with emotions shes having a harder time with lately.

@@theconfusedmom that makes so much sense. Btw thank you for the tip about Bed Time for Zoe. My son requests that book regularly and because of your video I always skip the "oops Zoe got soap in her eye" page.

Hi, I am looking forward to the sweeper, because I use a similiar one. We have a shortened Swiffer for the Kids, but they are always drawn to the 'spray part' of mine.
That said, I would be curios If the fort kit can bei combined with the one from KiwiCo? We have one from them and also need more (and sometimes shorter) pieces.

    • @theconfusedmom

It cannot! I have a short coming out in this next week I think!

We also got this play kit early (our daughter isn't 3 yet). I agree, more Waldorf than Montessori 😆 we have a Pickler triangle but our toddler never has been very interested in it - so this fort has been great but I agree, more pieces would be so helpful. I have a tote for all the pieces so it's easy for the toddler to take it out and put it all away. But the scarves that come with it get damaged really easy. I complained about it to Lovevery and they were kind enough to exchange the one that got worst damaged the fastest but it immediately happened again. It's always where we use the yellow pieces to connect the scarves to the structure.
Our daughter loves the alphabet and has a couple puzzles that she loves and can do on her own (even a letter sound one) but this included one is really difficult - I won't introduce it again for a long time.
I also can't say much regarding the books (we have the additional books from the bundle) since our daughter doesn't really show any interest in them.
The hand puppets she only uses for pretend play oven mitts 😆 she loves finger puppets but these hand puppets are definitely more for a grown up than a child and difficult for her to navigate. She does enjoy changing their eyes though. I wish they would have made a pair of different sizes - would have also helped for adult/child scenarios.
I absolutely agree with the mop - our daughter has been using the swiffer the way you describe for a long time and isn't overly interested in the mop.
Overall, I'd definitely skip this kit and go with good quality dupes. I just feel we wouldn't miss out if we wouldn't have it.
You can get the dupes together cheaper going with good quality play scarves that aren't silk. Our daughter has been loving the Melodie Naturals PlayScarves since she was 18 months now. They are her everything and she uses them all day long. They held up even when she had a phase where she would hide velcro play food in them 😉

Yeah I hope they sell an add on pack for the fort because as far as easy assembly, there's nothing quite like it.
Was it just the clasp on the window that got damage or the actual scarves?
So I got the book bundle books after recording this and my daughter has LOVED them. I literally read the naming ceremony to her 6 times this morning and had to finally tell her no more lol BUT with that said, the concepts they tackle in it are more developmentally piqued around 3.5 years old so I'd be curious her experience once she turns 3. I don't think my daughter would've been interested in them before her third birthday at all, or even the first couple months after.
Also curious on the puppets as she actually moves into 3 years old, my daughter is small for her age and navigates them. It sounds like your daughter has the dexterity to use them if she's using them as oven mitts and I'd be curious, once she hits that next level of emotional/social development that happens after 3, if her interest changes. With that said, my daughter still prefers using blocks or the wooden dolls for emotional processing over the puppets in general. It's not like she dislikes teh puppets, and but she uses the wooden toys 5 times a week, whereas the puppets are more like 5 times a month.
I added your play scarf recommended to the links in the description and am going to get a set for the holidays! Thanks for the rec!!

@@theconfusedmom glad to hear the play scarves sound interesting to you 😉
With the books, I absolutely agree. I also thought that she is just not there yet (she's currently loving the "now that I'm Three" book - I lost count of how often I have to read it to her and she "reads" to it herself everyday).
It's the actual scarves that get damaged. Especially the long one has several holes now. All where the yellow pieces are used to keep it in place. Our daughter still has trouble doing that by herself, so I usually do that and am very careful with it 🤷‍♀️ It's great though that they tried to make things right. Their customer service is always amazing.
Our daughter also absolutely loves the wooden figures from the previous kit - that IMO is an absolute no brainer. Such an amazing kit (only like you say in your other video, the weather board probably needs a couple improvements over time - but the books, figures and of course the house are absolute favorites here). Even the baby loves the happy figure - then our toddler will run around "oh no, where's happy - we need to find happy" 😆
Our toddler does love her finger puppets. She has a family, 5 little ducks, baby shark, and farm animals. She will often play scenarios with the family and sing songs with all of them. The farm animals also come with a duck and she will project every possible feeling to that one. I always know to check on her physically and emotionally if she says "it's ok duck" as "duck" isn't feeling well. We had a huge collection of hand puppets as kids - I'm sure she will grow to love them. But right now, finger puppets just seem easier for her to navigate.
I'm always glad that we have the kits, mostly for the books. I sold all the toys from the kits that weren't our daughter's favorites and usually got the purchase price for the entire kit out of that (they're worth that much second hand). So with that in mind, it continues to be a no brainer for us to continue with the kits. I didn't get the last two in advance yet though. We have some items that could be considered dupes from those two remaining kits and our daughter is either happy with them or not ready for them yet - so it's the first time I don't feel we need a kit long before the recommended age range in order to follow our toddler's interests

I am so late responding to this video, but if you could do a vlog on working with a toddler child’s emotions, that would be great!
About this Lovevery box, yes it was my least favorites in all their boxes. I really do like that they let their subscribers see the boxes beforehand (unlike KiwiCo- which is STEM!). Either way I wished I could have skipped, but I am an annual subscriber and they don’t have boxes beyond 4!
I am not a Montessori expert, just a mom, but Jessica Rolph (from Lovevery) has said they were Montessori inspired and Waldorf (can’t remember if it was on Instagram or their podcast)! So I can’t fault them for this box!

    • @theconfusedmom

No worries! I decided to make the emotions stuff a 3 part series because i didn't know where people were coming in at, and i've gotten questions around it in the past, the first video went live this week! The play specific video with scripts will be the third video!
And yeah i find their second box of the year is usually the "weakest" historically, though we do love this one. And I wasn't trying to fault them for being waldorf, we LOVE waldorf and are definitely more of a 50/50 household, and probably even lean more waldorf than montessori this past year... they always have included a great hybrid of items, this year just leans way more waldorf than montessori IMO and noted it for those parents who don't realize
