This is Tucsons mental health facilities, the housing for our veterans, this is our drug and alcohol treatment programs. Whether it is by choice or by circumstance this is the best Tucson has to offer its citizens who are for any reason down on their luck. Homelessness in Tucson accounts for a larger percentage of its total residents than people realize. So what is the answer? What is our city doing to help them to get a hand up so they can live a life of self sufficiency and dignity? There are not nearly enough services available for them. It’s an awful reality in Tucson.
It starts with housing. We need to make sure everyone is sheltered and fed, no questions asked. We live in the richest nation on Earth. There are incredibly poor countries that manage to take much better care of their impoverished and downtrodden. The powerful and wealthy people in this country are incredibly selfish. I'm sick of seeing people being left to rot because some line on graph needs to go up and some Billionaire needs another yacht.
We used to hang out at the underground under where I-19 & I-10 back in the seventies, whole different world then.

It’s Tucson’s literally ANYONE can walk in and live in that tunnel especially if you have food or dr*gs

I used to run around in those different tunnels around Tucson spray painting and drinking. Tucson is great I hope I don't have to spend my last days in Phoenix 🐦🔥

They said waist high at times. 🙏🏽 Mainly during our Monsoon season.
They're all drainage tunnels. Atleast that's their stated function so yeah they flood frequently.
Locals call these tunnel handys carful in there
