Bought your SPC book Paul; very worthwhile reading, thank you. Interesting thoughts for your component search to pairwise comparison. Given your focus on Six Sigma, this was not something I'd come across on any of the courses I've done in that methodology, but I am familiar with it from some reading I've done into the Shainin methodology. Is this something you're familiar with and is this where you've taken this technique?
Ah! You mentioned Red X - this is Shainin! Cool, I haven't seen much on this methodology previously. Have you read 'world class quality' by keki bhote? Well worth a read on the Shainin approach!
Derek - good to hear from you and thanks for your support. Yes, you're correct it is taken from Shainin. You have to be careful mentioning Shainin as the family insist on defending 'their' intellectual property so i talk about the tools without emntioning Shainin. Which is a shame, Dorian Shainin deserves to be known worldwide for his quality work... I include it in my Greenbelt course as it covers problem solving for finished product performance, that I don't think Six Sigma is very good at...and it is not often mentioned but Motorola used Shainin before the other Six Sigma toolset...

Why are there copies of the style section all over the place, d-do you have a dog? A little chow or something?
Too much ads at the beginning! First give value, before ...
Axel - thanks for the feedback I'll take a look at that. There should be one skippable ad, I'll check it out
