Over the past decades, a number of notable names in science made claims regarding the status of philosophy: some said it’s dead, others said it hasn’t kept up with modern advances in the sciences, and there are those who cracked jokes about the idea of doing philosophy. But are they right? Is philosophy dead? And is philosophy and science such mortal enemies? This video by Ramy Amin argues that the answer to these questions is no, by providing an example of a philosopher’s work that found support in a scientist’s lab.
