Nice video bro, my Rollinia is about 8 feet tall and has many flowers but when these turns into baby fruits they gets brown and drops, I have fed it with balanced fertilizer but no luck. I’m in southern FL BTW.

Hi Harley, love your videos, thanks for sharing 👍🏼 Can you tell me, did you top or prune your Rollinia tree ? Branches of my tree are thin & was wondering if I should prune like a sugar apple maybe? It’s about 10 foot & 3 or so years old, flowered loads this year in Australia. Keep the great content coming please.
Saludos. Gracias.
Like your videos. We live in Bradenton also and have been planting tropical fruit trees in the back yard. Have banana, avocado, mango, star fruit, peach, surinam cherry, and am looking for a pink guava and an alamosa next. We are near the water so I can plant about anything. My wife is from Venezuela.
Thanks for that video because there is not so much information about rollina. I just planted out 4 tree that i grow from seed last year. They grow so fast in my area.
Which tree gets bigger, the Rollinia or the Soursop? Estimated sizes? Which fruit of the two would you prefer if you could only have one? Love your videos ❤️ Gracias from SA 🇿🇦
Hi Harley, really like your videos. I am in Kentucky growning pawpaw. They look quite similar to the rollinia only they are deciduous. Perhaps you have tried one, but maybe not. They taste a lot like sugar apple and others.
Very important question: what is the insect that contributes the most to the pollination of these trees? I know that bees do NOT prefer this tree, even though some bees may visit this tree. Can it be an insect in the Hemiptera (true bugs) Order? If you aren't sure of an answer at this time, may I suggest that you do some observation on this question so that you may provide a more researched answer in the coming months! Thanks so much for sharing with all of us on YT!! 🏋❤
@@gardenflorida Thx very much! We are attempting to solve pollination issues with avocados, which have the same problem: bees do NOT prefer this tree! Many Blessings to you and your family!! ❤
@@michaelcolors a friend installed 6 bee hives in his avocado grove and has seen pollination go up massively. Bees do prefer other flowers but when their base is in the middle of the avocado trees they will pollinate them. Unfortunately it's physically impossible for a bee to pollinate Annonas though. Their flower is like a tube, they cannot enter it. In my garden the pollination of Annona flowers happens by ants, nothing else gets in there here in east med sea.
@@TropicalGardeningCyprus Thx for sharing this. It would be nice to find out what insect is a great match for avos other than bees, like searching for pre-ag strains of avo trees in Central or South Amer. to discover what is their pollinator. Then, researching the most closely related insect species that already lives in a particular geographic area so that the insect could be "planted" in the farm / orchard. A big project, but could be financially worthwhile. 🏋️
Wow! Great video, beautiful tree, thank you for sharing!
I just found your channel through your post on Facebook. I am your new fan

Your welcome, goodluck. The fruit is delicious. They fruit in about 3- 4 years from seed.

For me I’d choose Soursop. It’s gets much larger than rollinia! Thanks for the support 😃
Is it all time fruits?
cool ... btw can soursop be grown in containers? i can see your soursop tree got pretty big.
Yes it can be grown and fruited in a container.

I have not tried Paw Paw, hopefully this year 2022 I will get the chance to try paw paw at the festival up north.

The Nitulid beetle is the main pollinator of Annonaceae fruits. It’s smaller than a grain of rice. I have a video uploaded about it 😀

are you traveling back and forth from colombia and florida?
Yes I am traveling back and forth.
Just saw a tree at a farm in eje cafeterio. None of them were ripe unfortunately.
Do you have ppc plant for sale?
Hi do you sell seeds for these trees?
I do not currently have seeds for rollinias. Perhaps in a few months.
I am breeding pawpaws for less seed and cold hardiness along with large size and best flavor.
Intresting, I have never tried Paw paw but this year I want to head to the Paw Paw festival up north.
