First time watching and it is soooo refreshing to see a woman, especially a sister, doing electronic music recordings. I always say that everyone should own a music studio. So glad I ran across your channel and I am subscribing.
These are great suggestions. Routine worthy. Mono files are usually, not always but usually preferable to Stereo files to mix with. In fact it’s easier to get a nice stereo mix with multiple mono tracks mixed across the stereo field than it is to layer stereo files, which tend to take up more sonic space. Liked and subscribed!
Using a few basic, semi-universal effects for live sets vs more, specific, 'fancy' effects for the final studio version makes perfect sense. I play guitar/bass, and most people I've known use a simpler, streamlined effects chain live compared to what they'll use when tracking for a final release.
Tip 5 is good. Using sends rather than insert effects is one thing that old guys like me take for granted (when we started there was no choice 😀). Not only does it save on resources, it's just a more efficient and practical way to do ambience effects in a mix.
A good practice is to overdub effects then take them off track. Record plugins to audio via looper so you can edit audio better later and save memory and cpu.
I have the same Monitors. The way you have the positions looks and feels awesome! But they werent made to go on there side like that, it actually messes up your Stereo Image. Anyway...nice info thanks!
It’s a listening preference most likely. I switch mine up like that randomly, but yeah it’s a preference. She probably likes the sound and has gotten used to it.
Hi Heather. Thanks for watching. Glad it was helpful. I also use a memory card (SD card) and added an internal SSD drive so i have plenty of storage for files. But the type of memory i meant here was the cpu memory or RAM on the machine which limits how many things i can have going on at the same time in each MPC session. I dont often reach the limit. But sometimes I do. Especially when building a live set.
I an currently trying to organize on my mpc live. To change names and place project into the right folders 📂 I am the sound engineer and singer to just like you and chocolate 🍫 too. Lol
sooo true what ur saying bout the mpc it blows my mind what can be done with it i have the mpcx i just learned how to use the 8 audio tracks it has and how to use the mpc like a full recording studio its crazy have you done that?? Explode you tracks to wave or mp3 then put it back into the mpc load into the audio and then make sing or rap over the 7 audio track left
Hi! Cool that you're really diving into the audio tracks. I use them a lot for recording guitar and sometimes I run my other synths in to layer along with MPC instruments. For me, when I explode, it's usually because I plan to do a final mixdownn in Ableton. But I absolutely love combining samples and then resampling or flattening pads with multisounds
Tempy, I sample a lot of my audio parts to save on audio tracks. Lining them up can be fiddly - I haven't found a way to easily line up the sampling process with the click. It works well for parts I'm planning to chop.
Hey there! Sounds fun! I'm thinking about doing some community events or lives or real time beat-making things. I'm just trying to keep up with life and work, so I'd really need to carve out time.
Hi. No an SSD has to do with storage - - not memory. There's 3 different things that have the possibility to get overloaded. RAM (memory), CPU usage, and storage.

I was just curious and do not own a MPC device :D

got it 🙂
so sky if a producer wanted to make a beat with u how would that be I just think it would be cool like I send u a drum beat and u do something to that

Thanks! One question btw, does installing a SSD also increase the memory?

Sky Deep thanks 👌🏽
I watched all of this and i don't even own an mpc
What Sd Card Does the Mpc X take?
Well actually. Lol
Brand New … accidentally downloaded Hype to internal memory, how would I erase from internal and redownload to memory card?
