    My first attempt to do box braids was a total fail, the braids were different sizes, parting was a mess. etc. But after watching this video, my second attempt came out 10 times better!! I'm not a pro but I saved $200!! Thank you mam!

      My sons father who is white thought the Sam thing. When I met him I had braids further into the courtship. He was confused when he saw me without braids and then braids again after about three cycles of this he said he got up enough nerves to ask me about my hair. Ha ha he said he did not know what was going on. But he liked my natural hair best. He also washed my straightening comb too. Omg.

    I am sooooo glad that I found this video!! My daughter wanted box braids so badly. As you all know, it's expensive to go to a salon for this!! I just didn't have the money for this since we're on a tight budget. I did go to a salon and had a consult with them. The lady was bradding a little girl's hair. I was watching her as she was talking to us. I was like, I can learn to do this!! I learned how to corn row so there was no reason I couldn't learn to do this! So I searched for some videos to help me out. Your video was by far, the best!! Thank you so much. I'm saving all kinds of money and my daughter is happy.

      Hey, since I would say you are more of a professional I would like to ask you a question. Do you think that braids, dreads etc are just for the African community? Or do you think it doesn't matter if the person male or female is African, Asian, European etc?

    • @Cindy99765
      @Cindy99765 3 роки тому +7

      @@babyfire361 Box braids in this style and locs are more suitable for black people's hair because our hair is often more coarse and can handle the weight/tugging from the style. Our hair is usually dry, so we can keep the style for a longer time before it becomes oily. People of other races can get box braids, but they should learn about how to care for their braided hair, and also understand some history behind the styles. When you wear them, give credit to black people for creating them and call them their proper names. You may get some looks or some comments.

    I don’t even have black hair I just watched this vid because the finished product looks gorgeous, she a whole queen. Also you gotta admire the skill. EDIT: yikes, I’m sorry for offending y’all, this is the way I intended my comment: I wasn’t trynna say that all African hair is the same, obviously, just like any other race, African hair is diverse with hair type. I said “Black hair” as in “African hair” not to invalidate the fact that there are many different hair types, but to give credit to black people. These are black hairstyles, not Asian, not white, not brown, BLACK hairstyles, I wasn’t trying to say that all black people have the same hair type, I was trying to say that these hairstyles belong to black people. Hope that cleared things up, sorry for my offensive comment !! Stay safe guys 🤎

      Agreed. She didn’t really break it down into discrete, clear, ABC steps. She sorta did it by feel doing several steps at once. She added the synthetic hair while also doing the real hair separation and started braiding all together as one step, which is great when you know what you’re doing already. But I dont think I will do this right from just from this video. Other videos broke it all the way downnnn. But hers was helpful cuz she said 12 hours and im out. Not gonna do this myself 😂

      before you start braiding, take the hair and blow dry the whole pack towards the ends of the bundles, it silkens out the ends and makes them less tangly, you can also mist the ends with a little shine spray or oil sheen before you begin braiding. this helps the hair stay more smooth and tangle less.

      Try using gel products tend to help friction to keep them In at the top then dip the ends in boiled water to seal them

      Did u wrap ur roots/hair when u went to sleep? Bc that helps them to stay put over night and also eliminate frizz so they can stay in longer. And if that isn't the problem then maybe u didn't braid them tight enough
