So cute! Funny story when I was younger I thought black womens hair grew into braids. I was so confused to as why I had to braid my own hair but theirs was already braided.
My sons father who is white thought the Sam thing. When I met him I had braids further into the courtship. He was confused when he saw me without braids and then braids again after about three cycles of this he said he got up enough nerves to ask me about my hair. Ha ha he said he did not know what was going on. But he liked my natural hair best. He also washed my straightening comb too. Omg.
This is the best box braids tutorial! After watching this video, I tried braiding my hair for the first time and love the result. They're not perfect but I saved hundreds of dollars going to the salon and feel so empowered by doing my own hair! Thank you for the great tutorial!!
I am sooooo glad that I found this video!! My daughter wanted box braids so badly. As you all know, it's expensive to go to a salon for this!! I just didn't have the money for this since we're on a tight budget. I did go to a salon and had a consult with them. The lady was bradding a little girl's hair. I was watching her as she was talking to us. I was like, I can learn to do this!! I learned how to corn row so there was no reason I couldn't learn to do this! So I searched for some videos to help me out. Your video was by far, the best!! Thank you so much. I'm saving all kinds of money and my daughter is happy.
Hey, since I would say you are more of a professional I would like to ask you a question. Do you think that braids, dreads etc are just for the African community? Or do you think it doesn't matter if the person male or female is African, Asian, European etc?
@@babyfire361 Box braids in this style and locs are more suitable for black people's hair because our hair is often more coarse and can handle the weight/tugging from the style. Our hair is usually dry, so we can keep the style for a longer time before it becomes oily. People of other races can get box braids, but they should learn about how to care for their braided hair, and also understand some history behind the styles. When you wear them, give credit to black people for creating them and call them their proper names. You may get some looks or some comments.

Wouw. Just WOW. I cant even do a right pretty ponytail of something with straightnen iron and you do this magic all by yourself. Really talented , respect. PS. You are beautiful ❤
This is the best tutorial I have found so far. The pattern looks great and the sizes look professional/consistent. Did you find with the method any tugging on the hair line? Wouldn't want to snatch the edges
It looks like she actually has 1/2 of the extension hair (the one she has as a seperate leg) and then 2/4 (the parts she adds to her real hair)? That's the part I got confused at anyway! Because she says 3/4 and 1/4.
My daughter said "wow" and I thought she was saying that because I was showing her how perfectly you did the back of your hair by yourself and instead she says"her scalp looks so painful"
We appreciate it for sure! I've been obsessed with invisible cornrows since your tutorial. Don't know why I never tried to learn the technique before... it is so easy!

I'm pretty sure you look great. You should always do research before getting braids in general because some people are allergic to different types of fake hair. I'm black and I have never worn braids with fake hair but I think it looks cool.

You will get it. Just practice...You will get the hang of it👌🏾👍🏾
Emira Frazier me too and I have next to me full bag of braids in different colours about 10-13 packs :( ☹️ I really want to be able 💖
This is the best tutorial I have found so far. The pattern looks great and the sizes look professional/consistent. Did you find with the method any tugging on the hair line? Wouldn't want to snatch the edges
That part at 4:42... no just no my brain can't handle that. I don't know WTH is going on. LOL I love the results though.
RIGHT! I was thinking of "attempting" to do it but I got lost there.
Put ur speed at 0.5 xxx
Feel ya
Aimeé Sanders Thanksss. Way better .
It looks like she actually has 1/2 of the extension hair (the one she has as a seperate leg) and then 2/4 (the parts she adds to her real hair)? That's the part I got confused at anyway! Because she says 3/4 and 1/4.
You're so pretty that color looks so good on you omg
Quick and easy, and not boring to watch at all thank u girl
If I had your hair I would never wear weave! Your hair is so lovely and full!
oh my god, they are really beautiful, you have a super special talent for this: 3
This video is the reason I started doing my own hair a while back. Funny to run into it again years later!
My daughter said "wow" and I thought she was saying that because I was showing her how perfectly you did the back of your hair by yourself and instead she says"her scalp looks so painful"
😩😩😩
Well assure your daughter that my scalp was completely fine! This is the perk of braiding your own head... You don't do it too tight.
+MariaAntoinetteTV I'll let her know 🤗🤗 also thanks on the great tutorial. I was able to braid my own hair and my daughters hair by watching you.
+MariaAntoinetteTV OK6
+MariaAntoinetteTV are you left handed?
You are KILLING IT with the tutorials! Thank you. :-)
Thank you! I'm just give you all what y'all want! ☺️
We appreciate it for sure! I've been obsessed with invisible cornrows since your tutorial. Don't know why I never tried to learn the technique before... it is so easy!
Lord!! I didn't get that technique!! Beautiful though!!

I’m about to do my own braids. Have had a lot of help from friends and even strangers. So excited. My friend is on call for when I m done so she can fix it lol
I love the technique you used & also I’m in love with the color beautiful 😍😍😍💯💯💯
Omg thank you!! I feel like I can do it by myself now 💪
I just want to say that you are a queen. PERIOD
Loved this tutorial helped me so much to do my few box braids for my cosplay ❤❤❤ thank you
Wow I really love your natural hair they are beautiful 😄💗
i love all your videos. you always know how to explain your tutorials well. thanks a lot now I can do my hair perfectly
hey! I was wondering if you could quickly explain how to seal the braids! I'm really looking forward to do them in my hair but I want to have a nice finishing look. The other girls I saw making tutorials always end up with their braids not correctly sealed and I don't really want that to happen to mine... Hope you reply, thank you in advance :)**
I wrote it in the video... Dip the braids in boiling hit water. That's seals and softens the braid

MariaAntoinetteTV do you live in Brooklyn ? Are you able to do my hair ?
Thank you for the Apple cider vingar soak tip. My hair breaks out all the time after braiding it but now i know why. 👍🏾
I never knew you had to rinse it ... it that y my head itches the first week , learn something nw everyday

Omg I live for that ombré color I need to do this 😂
this was the best video I found on box braiding, so clear and clean. love it
Girl you are so pretty ❤️ now I'm a pro at box braids after watching this

+It's Jess Thank you!
MariaAntoinetteTV
This is so beautiful and exactly how I want my box braids, love the purple. But I don't have the patience to do this, only two strand twists without adding hair. But I have to get this done soon. I'm 5 years late lol, but great job! 👍🏽

oh. my. GOSH! you are amazingly gorgeous and that color looks AWESOME on you!!! seriously, you are so beautiful! quick question, I have unfortunately boring, bland untextured hair, so do you think this will work on my stupid, flat hair? holy cow, woman. you are so pretty...I'm gonna die!
HUSH you CNT wear it you are white
I did it anyway, and I loved it a lot!!
+Jackie Montrose who says she can't. There's no rules to hair
I'm pretty sure you look great. You should always do research before getting braids in general because some people are allergic to different types of fake hair. I'm black and I have never worn braids with fake hair but I think it looks cool.

"3 quadrants" that cracks me up. Like if you get it 😂😂
Ha ha... I get it! It's hard thinking of the right words when teaching something so confusing... 3 sections would of works as well! 😫😂😂😂
I literally pondered on that. Then after a while I paused to video and went to make sure I didn't mishear or miss another parted section of hair 😂

Thank you, it looks easier than what I was trying to do. I'm a Russian girl with a buzz cut, but my boyfriend a full head of these braids and he hasn't got access to his hairdresser at the moment.
