- Listening to those with more experience will inevitably pay dividends. After being skeptical about 'hawks for many years, I have changed my mind. Hope you find my MEA CULPA helpful.
What can I say? First you proved me wrong about folders, now you've got me thinking of trying a tomahawk. I've never thought about the possibility to disassemble them, but it's really handy when I think about it. Not just for legal reasons but for smart packing. I hope you get a speedy rehab so you can enjoy jumping over the fence again. All the best!
What I really need to go is to move a lot more, keep all the aging joints doing their jobs.
Thanks Steve!...I injured my ankle in march of 2019...I never had it looked at (though I know I should have)...still hurts with varying degrees of discomfort even to this day...so yeah, probably a good idea to have yours checked out.
I'm hoping to bag a few mountain peaks this summer, (Lord willing of course) reckon I'll see how my ankle holds out...growing olds not for sissies and thats a fact!...God bless and keep you my friend and have a great resurrection Sunday!!!...woods

I like a tomahawk as well. I have a cold steel trail hawk & and also a Lars Falt outdoor axe which to me is comparable to the tomahawk but slightly better balanced in my opinion ,possibly similar to your BareBones hawk , the IA Woodsman put me onto it -another trailhawk fan .

Hope that mends quickly.
I've a couple 'hawks that see occasional use when car camping or day hikes, when I might be using a small wood burning stove to cook with. The (relatively) lighter weight makes them attractive.
I seem to recall you have a very pretty hawk though the maker slips my memory..
