Need to get Ashley Reynard in the booth. She knows more about racing than most these guys. Todd is terrible. He called Mookie, "Malcolm Williams". LOL.
Wasn't really a fan early in his career, but grew to really like and appreciate him as it went along. He made a great transition to the booth. I miss him on the broadcasts.
My thoughts also. He was wild, partying, had that rock star image back then. But we’ve sll aged and I’m impressed how he was mature enough to grow up. Get professional “in life” I feel like I know him like a friend yet he doesn’t know me. 🤣 oh well. Good for him. Ride on!
I would also concur on all points, I think the media has a lot todo with our perception as well of him. I got a ton more respect for the fro now than before, good luck at the ranch buddy!
At 55yrs of age and having been riding for 46 yrs, i can honestly say that i always have unfinished business when it comes to dirt bikes. Never to old to enjoy, just cant go as fast as i thought i was.
Good for you man. That’s awesome!!! Still humble and having a good time. Don’t know him personally but his dad and brother used to work on my bike! Great family!!!!
when moto is in your blood, it's tough to grow older. I'm 48 and still riding, and I hope I can get another 10 years before I'm confined to trail riding.
When I was a teen in the 1990's Emig was my hero; I was always rooting for him to take it to Jeremy. Now that I'm in my 40's it's very cool to watch his Loretta journey. Best of luck Fro!
I'm 53 and still crank'en laps on my 2stroke with the regular race day. It keeps me focused and sharp especially on my KX250 2006. I say " as long as i can swing my leg over the bike we're in" never too old just never give it up. Melbourne, Australia 🇦🇺🇺🇸
You got at least another 20 years Emig. I’ve watched vids on her of guys over 70 still riding motocross. You inspire me to get another bike & start riding again!
I’m 58 with injuries. I started 7 years ago with training , it’s been a long road back to fitness . I to have damage my left heal bone, so running is pretty much out. Elliptical was my answer to cardio
Once you build up your connective tissue, ligaments tendons etc. hop on the Stairmaster. Leg exercises help boost testosterone which will also aid in injury rehab and overall well being especially at your age
I cracked my talus (heel) at 27, broke my same side ankle at 30 and hung it up for a while. Jeff captured the mentality to say certain activities motivate. Also at age 50 I enjoy riding, and I agree that just doing it is a personal and spiritual victory. :)
Love Emig !!! Rode with him & Ryno in the 90's off Edwanda in Ontario, Ca. I remember chilling with Emig at Deanza pro track on the side when he was testing on yz125 . Good old days ,, Emig ROCKS, LOVE THAT DUDE !! ✊🏻✊🏻ALWAYS SOOOOO,,, COOL !!!
I’m the same age as Jeff. I remember going to Washougal in 1988 and watched Jeff make his first ama national on a 125. I was so pumped to see all the riders that I watched on tv. Jeff was a 3 digit guy. That was one of my favorite national memories, my 1st national.
So glad to see Jeff again I think with some more time on the tracks exercise I bet Jeff Would give these young boys a run for their money thanks Jeff for giving us older guys memories of the days of sounds and smells of angry screaming two strokes at a motocross race of 90s and early 2000s
I started riding again recently at 54 after 35 years off a bike. Having a blast and hoping to lineup at the gate again before I can’t. This is inspiring and confirmation it can be done.
Good luck! I would love to go back myself. If my body wasn't so beat up from injuries I would go and try to win another championship. Just turn 50 also and would be racing jeff . Used battle with Jeff way back in the day. Pretty sure he would smoke me nowadays. Glad to see him healthy enough to go back to the ranch.
Very humbling. Wish you the best of luck Fro. Rooting for you. Cool seeing you and Ryno together. I saw both of you at KROC with Huffman n RC was just a young teenager in the team green box van and JS7 was a little man riding his bicycle in the pits making dirt bike noises. He crushed all the 80 kids on his 65.
I race hare scrambles and I see 50+ year olds out there in the woods and on the MX track just having a blast and I love it! Seeing them still enjoying two wheels at the age of 50+ just gives me hope and reminds me that this is such a good sport to be a part. No matter what kind of riding you do it just feels good to be on two wheels and in the dirt.
Plenty of haters out there, but I love seeing these guys out on the track. It was such a big part of their lives and our entertainment at their expense for so many years, they deserve to be out there having fun an living it.
I hope I am not misremembering, but something I recall about Emig was when he won his 1992 125 National title. Sitting on the bike, covered in mud with his crew congratulating him. He was obviously overcome with emotion, and he said he just wanted to find his dad. That told you everything you needed to know: biggest moment in his career at that point, and he wanted to share it with the person that helped him get there.
Jeff is to me a true honest and aware - albeit struggling, that years they pass. Has all humbleness needed to be a great spokesman in this sport, I do like Emig.
Good for you Jeff, it doesn't matter how old you are just race and ride as long as you enjoy it. The minute you stop doing the things you love you will feel and grow old. I started racing mx when I was 40 and I will continue racing as long as I can throw my legs over the bike and as long as I enjoy it.
@@vurbmoto I think he will do well And hold his own, BOLD MOVE on his part racing the 150. He may have to tap into those 90s moto vibes. Lol hey anyone can do it Fro can!
Ohh how I reflect on the many 4th of July weekends in little old Buchanan, Michigan. I lived in the trailer park right across the street RED BUD T-N-T!! Jeff came full circle back to the fun and fulfillment just in riding, something that is lost when competing for a championship. The true test of how "spiritual" you are about it is how you feel when you lose. If you are totally bummed out then racing to you is just an ego trip. If you are glad you competed and it's OK you lost then you are truly enjoying life.
Well said Jeff, Motocross was such a big part of your life, why not race again👏 now it's going to be more fun with beer availability lol good luck at Loretta's championship I miss you and Ricky on real talk. Braaap 👍

I rode on a track (on a practice day) in LA about 20 years ago, and Emig was there. Of course he was flying, faster than everyone. But then he and some friends of his moved over to an adjacent area which had these enormous dirt piles. I rode over to watch. Emig went from a dead stop, short run to a pile, and--I shit you not--he launched so high and far off of it, he would have cleared a large 2-story house--and he landed perfectly on the downslope of another pile which was so far away, it didn't even seem possible! You can't practice that. How the hell did he know he'd land exactly where he did?? It was so big a jump, if he came up short or long he'd be seriously injured. It's not like he had the chance to build up to it. He just hit it and landed it perfectly. I've seen Bob Hannah defy physics, but this jump Emig did surpasses that because of the danger of it. My jaw dropped for real. I swear this story is true. I still can't explain how he did it, without bringing in the idea that he is not fully human, but some kind of god or something.
