- No. 2 BYU men's volleyball won its 2021 NCAA tournament semifinal matchup against Lewis. The Cougars won 3-1 as they were led by Gabi Farcia Fenandez who posted 16 kills. BYU will play Hawaii volleyball in the 2021 NCAA men's volleyball championship.

@@locomojoboy2 I think they played great against UCSB! ya Rado didn't have his 20 plus kill kinda night but hey volleyball is a team sport and I liked how everyone contributed to the W! UH knows now they gotta play their best vb and being that everyone is pumped and ready I think they can win in 4! It'll be Rado vs Gabi for sure and if UHs setter can get involved in helping get points then I think they can get it done! Jakob Thelle their setter is definitely gonna be their weapon at running their offense! GO BOWS!!!!🤙💪🌈🌴🏐🏆
@@808aaq to me UCSB is a weaker team than Lewis and certainly a less physical team than Lewis. Hawaii did great overall, but if Rado has an off night again like he did last night, I definitely favor BYU in this case because all of their pins look strong, much stronger overall compared to Hawaii whose OHs are under sized too. Rado has to go guns blazing for Hawaii to win imo.
@@MrChaseBlue I think UHs seniors know it's do or die come Saturday and I think they're saving their best match of their lives for all the marbles! Ya UCSB is no BYU and ya their OHs are undersized but I know UH has a game plan to work around their blocks and make smarter hitting decisions rather than getting stuffed and hopefully Jakob will be another factor in the front in contributing to his kill stats on Saturday! @NCAAChampionships Remind the hosts that Puerto Rico is part of the US so it's not "international flavor" when you have a Puerto Rican on the roster. Fernandez is an American citizen.

Miki is either Finnish or Swedish. I don’t remember which. Davide is Italian. Gabi is Puerto Rican. He is an American citizen but would play for Puerto Rican team (they have a separate team) unless he decided to switch.
Will there be third-place match? I hope there is. 😁 My money will be on Santa Barbara on that one. I think their defense and Asian-style offense will eat Lewis and their one-dimensional game 3-1. I hope to see more back slides from both sides. 😁

Kevin and Paul are some of the best commentators on the sport. They are both experienced and knowledgeable.
The best commentators are the ones from Hawaii! They’re knowledgeable, respectful and very fun. They make the game even more interesting than it is already.

Mitchem Is my favorite player on Lewis not because he's good and all that, but because he seems to resist the idea of playing with tights on, unlike his teammates. On BYU, I like Gardini and Eschenberg because they play with tights all the time. Is this anti-establishment syndrome? What's wrong with me?
Seriously, though, I'm baffled by Lewis's lack of offensive presence on the right wing. They have trees for players and they send a libero-height guy as their regular opposite? If they really needed his floor defense, they could have run many more slides with the middles to open up BYU's defense (Mitchem's slides were automatic points. He had the hot hands, and he's so tall he hits slides above the blockers.). While they're at it, they could have run 90's-style X-plays with the opposite since they were already playing 90's style volleyball with their all-utility opposite anyway. They could have collected some points from him. Or they could have moved Coenen to opposite. Some of his points were from area two at rotation one. My blood's boiling. 😡 Bad coach. Where do I send my resume?

My money's on BYU in the finals, but I'll still be rooting for Hawai'i. 😁 BYU now was like Hawai'i in 2019 in terms of balance and completeness.
