Serving and serve receive was really off today for Hawaii. Hopefully they can fix that for the championship. Props to Penn State tho. They adjusted really well.
I am a big UH Fan but kudos to Penn State for their play. This is the team that gave UH a tough match this season. The libero, the setter and of course the Wildman were the key players for this team. UH needs to rest and get momentum from this match for Saturday's match with UCLA. Go Warriors!!! We Got This!
Penn State gave it their all huge props to them. Contrary to what other fans have said where Hawaii should have swept them, I think this is a huge experience for them to have before facing UCLA. I thought UCLA had a cake walk against LBSU. Hawaii I felt got better as the season went on and I think going to 5 on this semis will serve them well against UCLA on the ship!
Very excellent performance of Hawai'i team on the first 2 sets, got bad on the 3rd and 4th sets, good they recovered on the 5th set and won the match. #23 of Hawai'i could be a good setter too.
Good news for worried Bows fans...Hawaii serve receive was subpar. Had a ton of hitting errors and served decent-but not great. Yet they still beat a REALLY GOOD team from Penn St that was grabbing and throwing the ball all over the court. UCLA will be tough, but doable
@@locomojoboy2 Yeah. But I didn't see them do it all season outside the occasional dump. Hopefully they clean up those areas vs UCLA so it doesn't matter
Or maybe Penn State was just playing their best? I’m a huge Hawaii fan but give credit to Penn State. They knew what their were doing, But Hawaii walked with the W taking care of business. I like this for them. You can’t face a team like UCLA from a cake walk semis. JMHO
@@thejuanderers2342 Penn St plated very well. Im not taking anything away from them. But the Bows were a step worse on serve receive than their last game vs UCI. I also noticed a bit less zip on their serves than vs UCI. They need to be at their best to beat a team like UCLA.
Old bag commentator was definitely biased towards Penn State. Sad to say, despite all his efforts to hype up his favorite team, he goes home knowing Hawaii will go to the finals, and not his team. Look at himself.
Yeah unfortunate, and not defending him, but it makes sense he’d be biased. He was an assistant coach at Penn State before becoming the head coach at George Mason.
Hey NCAA, when are you finally going to realize that a tennis like broadcast angle is better than this terrible sideline view? Also, can we stop panning all over the place, I needed to pop a Dramamine from the motion sickness these camera guys cause. Endline viewing angles for net sports are superior in every way, you can see the balls movement more clearly, how high they jump or how far they rub, the speed translates better, spin on serves. Why is volleyball the only net sport that still uses the garbage sideline angle for the primary broadcast?
Good game, but the video kind of sucked. The camera is generally always shaky, what's up with that? And the framerate or something is off as the ball hit with any pace is just a blur... can't really follow its trajectory or where it impacts the floor. I watch plenty of volleyball and this needs to be fixed for the finals.
@@elijah4882 You have to at least make them honor it, or break the rhythm. The H middles were releasing early to the pins, made it tough for the PSU attackers to terminate. I thought he ran the middles just enough against Ohio State, something he didn't do in the earlier loss to the Buckeyes.
When the announcer mentioned that Penn State didn't win the National Championship since their last one in 2008, it reminded me of how the NCAA's manipulated the Championship. Like in both the Women's and Men's Volleyball championship tourney, they manipulated the playoffs to "help promote the game". In other words, what used to be a predominantly West Coast game, they made the playoffs where a team from the East, a team from the Midwest, and a team from the South would go to the Final Four. The teams in the west were dominant in the top 20, they were all beating up on each other during the season, but when it came to the Final Four, these other teams were able to recruit as they can say, "we go to the Final Four every year" That's how teams got stacked during the regular season, beating up on mediocre teams, and the West had to send only 1 or 2 of the top ranked teams, for years. Women's has gotten to 64 teams now, but now the major colleges are able to stock their teams with talent, while the former previous power houses no longer exist. The Men's can't even put together a 16 team format yet! And again, the top 20 is fought among the West teams to send only 1 or two. The East, South and Midwest can take the highly ranked recruits. It's the reason why Hawaii has international players, the rest go to the major colleges. I'm waiting for the NC to "promote the game" of Ice Hockey, so that a team from Hawaii can go every year. Same mentality, a sport not popular in their region but let's promote the blue water and clear skies, right?
ALERT! There was assassination attempt on da King from Manoa but the attempt was Dimi`d despite several bombs. The King lives and will bRuin any other attempts.
peen state should win the game. Hawaii and long beach state fans are super super annoying!!like super annoying! It is ok you support your team, but do not interferer the players! I am in UCLA and went to a lot games, each time we play against long beach no matter where, their fans boo our players right behind all the time, and our fans do not boo their players. But we beat them times this year, cool.
Penn state not getting called for those throws was crazy 😅
Or those serving foot faults. That happened when they played in Hawaii too.

With Hawaii walking with the “W” is a huge statement despite their serve receive. Mark of a true champion.
These commentators bites. We need C-Mac and Kainoa to call these game.

When I saw this game, I knew Hawaii won't win the championship. Maybe a case of over confidence.

that’s Spyros Chakas. They really need him as a hitter but I agree he has great hands
Yeah, they get pissed off and then re-group and come roaring back like gangbusters! Love our Sons of Hawaii taking care of business🤩😍🥰!

What is up with these bias announcers and what's a carry and palming a ball down? Refs blind or what?
So busy talking not calling the game.
They were so boring.

I hate how you already know who’s gonna win by who’s on the thumbnail
These refs need to hang it up already. Year in year out you see the same refs, making terrible calls or being blind.

This was such a good semifinal!! Amazing volleyball!!
Thelle needs to insert himself against UCLA. Glad it’s ucla and not Long Beach bc Long Beach would’ve gotten swept

Penn State never running the middle in the 5th, let Hawaii just focus on pins or bics. Too predictable.
Their middles weren’t good all match so I don’t really blame cole for not setting them
