The Preston F1 maggot float is peferct for fishing with a variety of baits such as maggots, casters, worms etc. This shotting pattern with a bulk and 2 droppers is perfect for targetting fish like F1 and silvers in the bottom 1ft of your swim. The spaced out droppers should present a more natrual fall of your hookbait hopefully fooling those crafty fish into taking it. This is only a rough guide! So make sure you get out on the bank and see what Floats, Shots, and patterns work best for you.

Could you show where you connect the bottom loop to your rig board , please.
Thanks for watching! I use a homemade rig board with a pin at the one end. I use some old pole elastic then with a rig hook onto the loop to keep it under tension. Hope this helps 🎣🐟🎣🐟🎣🐟

How long are you making the overall rig lengh?
It would be roughly around 6ft + as I wouldn't use the rig in depths any deeper than about 5ft on a calm day.

Why 5 x #9 for the bulk and not 2 x #6 + 1 x #9 or 1 x #3
Years back the UK government actually banned the use of lead split shot bigger than No. 8 to protect wildlife from lead poisoning. Although nearly all shot are now non toxic I personally never use a split shot bigger than size 8 on a still water. The use of smaller shots now seems to be more common practice when fishing commercial waters. Hope this helps 🎣🎣🎣
