A video to show you how to connect or program your new or current Kia Rio key fob or remote. Here is the link the remote I purchased on eBay - www.ebay.com.a...
My only 2008 Rio FOB recently lost connection to the car again. I have tried the 20 times key cycle, no luck this time, no response from the car after 20 cycles. Tried by removing power from the car for a few minutes and then do the key cycle thing again, still no flashing indicators or central locking cycling. This regular pairing process worked a few times in the past, but now it seems that function has stopped working. Any ideas?
I don't have a fob, only a key, and my unlock button inside the car is broken. I can't get the car to go into this programming mode for the life of me. I've even tried rolling the window down and activating the power locks by putting the key in the door and turning it to lock then unlock the car with the doors closed. Then pulling it out and flipping the ignition 20 times. Can't get it to let me program my new fob.
@@gnigill3155 I’m not sure you can do anything sorry. What happened to the original key? What do you have? If you don’t have the original key then you might have to go the dealership. I don’t have experience sorry. Unless someone else knows more…
@@MamaOnyx-c2k ua-cam.com/video/R46PxPgytrc/v-deo.html here is the video. Hopefully it guides you to changing the battery and hopefully that's the issue
Hi, after @gortsearthblog9803 comment above. Are you able try it? But I think it's only if you have a genuine key already and it's lost connection due to a bad battery?
I have just done my single key with no other present ,i just pressed lock and unlock on the door with the key out and then on off 20 times i didnt get any flashing lights but turned it of and tried it and then it started working.. Magic
Sounds like magic! Wow thanks for sharing. So you didn't lose the key? you only lost the fob? (which are 2 separate devices on the genuine Kia Rio keys). Because if you lost both you would need to get the new key cut for the car right? And I think that would be a visit to the dealership or else you could steal cars pretty easy? Did you only program the fob to the car and now you need to get the key cut? Or do you already have a genuine Kia Rio key and it lost connection (maybe you had to change battery) and you needed to reconnect it. I guess my video is if you are buying a aftermarket key and need to program it. Just interested to know more. Thank you
@@678ville I had just one key and fob mine is the one piece fob and key not two parts i put the key in and then took it out and did the on off 20 times etc then it worked ,, it is an original key maybey it just dropped out of sync before..
If it’s the same shape Kia Rio it will or should. If it’s the newer shape model then I’m not sure. You could test it out if you haven’t already and let me know 👍
Hey mate, very informational video. I didn't find the remote on Ebay. What are the specs of this remote? Is it 433MHZ? Thanks 😊
Hey mate, thank you for the positives 💙...I'm not 100% sure - here is the link to the one I bought on eBay www.ebay.com.au/itm/304604937341
Tested this on my 2008 Kia k2900 as the key fob looks the same, worked perfectly. Thank you!!

Without knowing more...and assuming you've done battery replacement on the FOB, the only thought that comes to my mind is maybe buy a new key?

what if you dont have an existing remote?
As far as I know it's a call to your trusted local Kia dealership to get it replaced. It won't be cheap either.

Hi , how can I program remote without OBD scan tool for Kia Picanto 2012 ? Any idea or tips?
Sorry I'm not sure about that.
Bedankt voor je reactie

So you only have the key and not the fob? Have you ever had a fob?
I have a Kia Rio 2013 is it the same way
If it’s the same shape it will work but I’m not sure about the newer models. You could try at least and let me know please?
will this work on 2011
