Bro, listening back while replying to a comment, I’m reminded of how insanely great you are! Immense feel and an abundance of confidence I hear in all you do🙌👏💪
I purchased a soloist and I agree that it's not just another tube screamer. It's far more open sounding than a tube screamer and it actually sounds good as a standalone boost or standalone overdrive into a clean channel while I think tube screamers sound nasally and strange when used as a primary overdrive or boost into a clean tone.
@@jamesemerson4102 A normal tube screamer when used into a clean amp sounds like you're layering an overdrive tone on top of a clean and it's just such a strange/overly compressed sound. People have to remember that SRV DID NOT run his TS pedals into a clean fender, he ran his TS pedals into his amps which were cranked on the verge of breakup or just flat out dirty. TS pedals normally need to be used into an amp thats already dirty or at least on the verge of breakup while this one flat out covers more ground.
@@dannyllerenatv8635 Yeah, I like to run them into slightly dirty amps too and the same with fuzz. However for the purpose of the demo I just used a clean signal. Some people complain if the demo is a dirty sound, haha. I think it sounds pretty good though!
@@jamesemerson4102 Thats what I love the most about the soloist, it can work in front of all sorts of signals, whether it be clean, dirty or fuzz! In my humble opinion, this, the bonsai(especially since it mimics ACTUAL VINTAGE screamers up to the component variance) and the soloist are the three best TS based pedals out right now.
Absolutely! I have the Mini Si Fuzz but would like to stack it with this, or just the Soloist alone would work just fine for me. It will definitely be my next gear purchase and your video has convinced me!!! 🙏🏼
Great playing. I bought a Soloist and like it a lot. Question, though: how would you compare it to the Shanks ODS-1? (you did a great demo on that, too). I am curious as to how you would describe the tonal difference as well as the difference in “feel”.
Thanks for the comment! 😊 I would say that the soloist is softer under the fingers. The shanks feels a bit stiffer, which isn't a bad thing. Shanks has a nice upper mids thing going on with some nice harmonics coming through. It has a lot of Bass which is part of the nobels sound but I wish they allowed to taper off the bass a bit more as you can only add more bass. I'd say that the shanks is not worth $619 though which is what it costs here in Australia. I sold it to realise the cash back. Still have the soloist. Keen to try some other TS style pedals, though too.
If you dig the Stevie Ray Vaughan this pedal is just fantastic!! I had a duelist and this is meant to be the string singer side of that however to me it sounds better... The eq choices are nice with the "edge" control.
I see you wrote in a comment you were playing through Guitar Rig. What audio interface were you using here? It's unbelievable that Guitar Rig can sound this good!?
Hi Milan, yes it's just guitar rig! and a cheap interface. I am using the Focusrite scarlett here. The amp model is called the "tweedman." I used to also run the guitar rig's tube screamer with the gain on zero to fatten things up a bit, but you're right, it sounds pretty good for a cheap interface and a plugin!
Had both the duellist and soloist, sold the soloist because the duellist had 2 channels.. so sooo sorry for that the soloist sounds unbelievebly better than the duellist ts side
@@jamesemerson4102 the soloist is far more open on lower volume, the duellist however feels restrained. the soloist has more gain on tap and feels less compressed. i tell you, these are not the same pedals. i guess when you put another channel in an od pedal its has a cost on each of the circuits. im sure the Heavy Hand pedal is amazing too. although, the duellist really shine on higher volume.
Great playing and fantastic strat tones. Nicely done.

Man, someone who plays as well as you shouldn't be giving me compliments 😂 You're too kind mate thank you
I have one of these. One of the best things I have ever purchased. Period.
Killer playing!
Cheers!
Such great pedals. LOVE the Duellist too but I'd happily settle for one of these. Can I have yours??

Thanks for watching! Kingtone make awesome products!

Look up Kingtoneguitar.com and find a dealer near you :D
Sweet.

I think it's a "healthier" signal with a livelier, versatile envelope, all with a low noise output. That's quite impressive in my estimation.
Great demo! The Soloist and I didn’t gel. The lows were way too loose. Have you run the TSV808 or Honey Bee Amps Clean Drive?
Thanks mate. I have not tried those before. Would love to though. There are just so many pedals out there these days!
@@jamesemerson4102 I have some demo's on my channel. Hope you dig it.
I want this pedal so bad lol I hope I like it,because my wife would kill me if i waste $300
Thanks I will check it out!

What guitar and amp?
I am using a fender bassman amp model in guitar rig. Running straight into my interface. Guitar is a MJT/fender parts caster stat with Leddin pickups.
What's your amp? You sound so dope 🙄😔, great playin'!
Thanks for watching! for these demos I am actually just running through my interface into guitar rig. Using the Tweedman model amp.

Interesting observation! My friend said the same thing when he played my soloist. He owns the duelist. I wonder where the difference is?
