The moment I heard this is UA-cam shorts i was like OMG! The last track "Low Sun" is a final treat. Wow!!! I am so inspired that in ages I have heard such good music from a profound and serious musicians. After listening so many licks hunger guitarist, I found these simple yet deep musician. You guys instantly change my mood in philosophy of playing. I will always mention you from now on. Thank you, The Current channel.
Hmm, they are amazing musicians, and great performers. And these are great tracks. But, maybe it's just me, but it sounds like either the recording is not so good, or maybe more likely there's something wrong with the audio here. It didn't sound like they usually sound. Then when I checked the KEXP, Tiny Desk and other recordings. This one is not up to par. It sounds mono, or almost mono, there's very little bass, the spring reverb doesn't have that snappy shimmer, has a slightly shrill midrange, and it doesn't sound nice on the top end. Almost sounds like an 8 or 12-bit mono, 11khz or 22khz recording. Strange, almost sounds like a telephone. Maybe double check your encoded files The Current? I'm sure it's UA-cam, these guys, and The Current are great. (tried the 4k, 1080p options, same issue)
I agree, the sound here is quite unpleasant....which is certainly not what we are used to with these guys. The click of the percussive guitar sounds particularly bad...
