ABSOLUTELY stellar guests. Great show. Dr. Gary Brucato I really appreciate your insight. Don't feel pressured but I could see you hosting a UA-cam channel would be incredible interesting and successful.
Not only is this panel brilliant, but they also relay their knowledge and expertise with the utmost integrity. That is what makes them even more phenomenal. ❤
This was such a good discussion. Amazing panel. I was Psych RN for 35 years. I always knew I wanted to work in the mental health field. I learned what I needed in all my nursing classes and did well in school. However, behavioral health was it for me. I was so fortunate to have an excellent instructor in my Psychatric Nursing Program. She had a military background and we went deep in learning. At that time the State Mental Hospital was still a thing. I learned so much there and wanted the toughest cases. I worked on the floor at times but my main interest was in evaluation. I had time working with forensic patients and worked in corrections also. I always wanted to further my education but I had kids and obligations so I worked a lot. How lucky are students to have brilliant clinicians as these to learn from. I worked in Hawaii for some time and felt they really did hard work for patients there. Thank you very much for this presentation. I still have that deep fascination and need to know that I had all those years ago in the beginning. I know this work will save lives. May those families go forward with much love and support.
Victors point about the timing of the Survey and how it takes awhile to collect data and the project was probably not needed or related to graduation is VERY Interesting. VICTOR IS BIG BRAIN! very great point!
I recently discovered this channel while following the Idaho case online. It is by far superior to everything I have watched on this topic until now. Not only this panel, but also the other videos where you discuss aspects of this case with your wife are incredibly enlightening, coherent, and intelligent. Thank you for creating this type of content, so very different in tone and quality from the rest of the information that is out there. Your experience and humanity shines through. I'll follow this channel closely from now on. Also, I have a Great Dane called Nestor. He's 2 years old ❤ Wishing you, your family, and all your excellent guests nothing but the best!
Dr. Brucato is SO SO intelligent. You really should have your own podcast, Dr. I feel you have a lot of interesting things to say and we could learn a lot from you.
It's almost eerie re-listening to this a month later and seeing how close their analyses were a month ago to what we have since been finding out about BK.
A wonderful, intelligent panel. I missed the live and am listening to it in full right now. I'm halfway through and it's one of the best interviews/podcast to date on this offender. Thank you all for your time.
Wow! What a fantastic informative panel! This is such a professional educated experienced group of people! Unparalleled. This was completely fascinating. In fact, so good it was like watching a criminal minds episode with everything all tied up in an understandable bow. It just blows my mind that I as a regular old everyday person, nurse, with an interest in the psychology of criminals can open UA-cam and get access to a gem like this! It’s like watching behind the scenes in real life of the experts depicted in Mindhunter.
Fabulous live. Thank you Chris and Karen and thank you panel guests. One of the great pros of social media/internet is being able to learn, and potentially interact, with such esteemed, educated persons such as yourselves. Thank you~
Almost 3 hours in length and wish it had gone longer. Thank you to all of the panel. Incredible discussion. I commend the careful consideration of how we view the perp, his background and factors surrounding the victims. There are also deep layers to societal factors and familial markers that while uncomfortable, would behoove us to illuminate openly.
Dr. Brucato, I so wish the panel would’ve continued with your motive theory of offender as experimenter. That feels right here. He just twisted his anger towards women into “validating” his research. This should be revisited.
@@TheInterviewRoom this is close to our hearts. My daughter grew up with Jazzmin and Xana and they were such a beautiful asset in our community and our hearts are broken! TIR is the only channel I watch because it is factual, unbiased and respectful. Thank you. Would love to treat you and Karen to some great idaho food! I live in Post Falls!
I grew up in eastern Pennsylvania and I'm beginning to get somewhat of a picture of this Kohberger character. The guy grew up and has lived most of his life in upstate Pennsylvania. This means that he lived as a vegan among deer hunters, driving a Hyundai Elantra in a locale where many of the locals tend to drive pickup trucks. He grew up in a community where many people socialize at events like outdoor barbecue outings and as an OCD vegan who can't stand being anywhere around meat, I can't imagine him being invited to too many of those outings. All this, combined with with his past drug addiction and his propensity to act aggressive, meant that his social life was practically nonexistent.
Master Class, thank you to all involved! This discussion is something that most PROFESSIONALS would pay 100's of $ to watch as part of continuing professional development. 2 of my new favorite speakers, Dr Burgess & Dr Brucato! They are so articulate. It’s a joy to listen to them especially since Dr Burgess is a nurse….I am too, almost 30 years. And so is Dr Petreca! Fantastic

I wish Ann Burgess would narrate her own audiobooks though,as she has a voice that captivates my complete attention!❤❤❤❤❤
First I would like to say how stellar this panel is. It eases my mind to know I have people like this to protect me. If I was in the room with this guy, I would pull his essay out and start asking him his own questions.
Thank you for this discussion. I often feel like my interest is like gawking. I appreciate how respectful your conversations are. If only we could always prevent these tragedies from happening.
This was an amazing show tonight. Thank you for always providing such insightful, intelligent and drama-free shows. Wishing the TIR Crew (especially Buddy!) and the Cold Case Foundation a happy and productive 2023! :)
The reason why people want to talk about this guy and this case is that we want to feel safe. I’m speaking about women especially, because violence against women is so prevalent. maybe we can never really know who to trust or distrust, until it’s too late - but for own survival we need to try to understand what motivates men to commit such acts of violence.
Every man is potentially dangerous (not saying all men ARE dangerous but we do not know who is and who isn't) and you have to develop a sixth sense and all kinds of 'tools' to make yourself safe, although we cannot control what is done to us women. It is quite an impossible task. Walking through a park for only 5 minutes can be fatal (see eg Sabina Nessa, London), or cycling through a beautiful area and run into a psychopath (Anne Faber, Netherlands, she worked down the street from where I live). I truly see misogyny being overlooked so often and that is very defeating and undermines women's trust in society. Women still have to fight today to be recognized as targets b/c we are women. We are made invisible.
Disagree. It's naive and foolhardy to believe that life is safe - or could be - for both males and females. Each person is responsible for his/her own sense of "safety" in an inherently unsafe world.
I know the vegan/pots and pans story is just anecdotal, but I can't help thinking if it was me that had a special dietary requirement I would be more likely to provide my own pot for unexpected dinner invitations rather than push the expense onto someone else. I think a lot of people, particularly those with food allergies in the family are used to travelling with separate dedicated pots etc.
I don’t think it has anything to do with harming an animal I think it has everything to do with his obsession of his health, and not wanting to cross contaminate with anything that touched animal meat

I’ve watched all kinds of ‘experts’ speak about this case but every time I get to hear Gary and Ann, I think “finally!” And the insight about trying this, then that, then the other to fit in and finally resorting to ‘ok, let me show you THIS - do you see me now?’ was chilling because it makes so much sense. Thanks for your work on this show.

I don't see much info about the gas station night manager who took the initiative to go over the cctv videos that pin-pointed the car. Should there not be significant appreciation for her efforts?
Having been a vegan and knew some there are degrees of purity. Like Jewish Kosher kitchens..Many just try it on to be cool or please a mate. It is certainly a difficult diet and gives one a sense of control, even superiority. I think he had reasons to lose weight and fit in better. Also could be part of long plan.
