I actually liked guarma a lot in terms of the map. The environment, the birds, the ocean. It was all very beautiful. So I spent quite a bit of time just walking around. I just wish we had some way to explore it even more. I don't think it was rushed. It was just a challenge in terms of narrative (stranded) or logistics (no horse) to make the player spend a lot of time there.
After I rescued Sean in Cahpter 2 and got drunk af with Lenny, I just stopped my second playthrough there. Didn't wanna see them all die again, so now my save is perpetually with all the important gang members alive and well and in camp, and Micah stuck in a jail cell (where he belongs) and Arthur hasn't even talked to Strauss yet.
True. A lot of people quit because of how long it seems. But eventually you realise how important it was narrative wise. I think I have enjoyed Chapter 1 a lot more on all of my subsequent playthroughs.

Guarma felt like a looot shorter. However we should keep in mind that Chapter 5 ain't just Guarma. You do 1-2 missions in Lemoyne and 1 in Roanoke ridge/Northern New Hanover
Yes, if you are speedruning this game. I am 170hrs in, and still in Chapter 2, AND I AM NOT IGNORING MISSIONS. I just do them as I see fit alongside my exploring, side quests and events that pop up. This game is incredible. Using mod for loner days and set it to 15minutes per game hour as a sweet spot and i wake up, drink my coffee, do the camp chores, go hunting, eat something, and it is still just 8-9 am, i set out to the world to do a mission or whatever, and again i have enough of time to return to the camp at evening/night if i want and do it all the next day. THIS IS THE BEST GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED.
On my third playthrough and it’s taken me about 70 hours to get three missions close to finishing chapter 6. To be fair, 50 hours of that was side content I decided to do willingly. The story on your second, third, and so on playthrough is shorter in comparison to your first. RDR2 is second nature to me now. I can do it practically blind. (I’m legally blind, so technically 😂). I’ve still got a few collectibles such as rock carvings to do and about 75 more challenges, as well as about 80 gold (for missions) to get. The good thing about this game is that you don’t need to do side content unless you want to. So if you think 70 hours is too much - it’s a good thing it’s only 70 hours if you want it to be.
Recently played and finished the game in 35h.
