I have ordered my mt03 in midnight black and take delivery on the 1st Sept 2020. I’m 5’10 and trying the bike for size in the showroom it felt perfect, relaxed geometry, plenty of legroom under the tank, nice and light to handle. in the Uk 🇬🇧 it requires an A2 license to ride. Ride safely guys wherever your from. 👊🏻

After a big crash while racing Mx,I was left in a deep,deep coma for over three months.After going through hell and back to recover,I having being waiting 33 years to ride again.Now with this wonderful new Yamaha Mt03 I have the joy to ride again,bring it on Yamaha.Ride safe,wear a helmet.

Yeah when i was looking at bike to get for my first, every time i saw and r3 i was just like nope cant do it cuz how ugly the blinkers are, was considering a ninja 300 but ended up wanting a naked bike and bought the mt03

First was the 01, a sporty chassis with a 1670 cc cruiser engine [I have one]; next was the original 03 [a 660]; then the 09. As for the 321 cc 03, it's been around ages in Europe and Asia.

A perfect balance between power and fuel economy. A 300cc bike is the best overall.
Looks like the younger sibling of the FZ-07 I had. Man, if I were smaller in stature and weight I would own a fleet of small bikes. :-)

But why no slipper clutch? Kawa and Honda have it on their entry level bikes now. Thats my only gripe with it

What’s the ground clearance of this one sir? Can we put it heigher?
In the UK I think the natural progression from say a YS125 would be to the MT07. When you do your full test you move up into the 600cc class, so why move down to the MT03?
Better mpg, cheaper to insure, tax and maintain, lighter,also does 70mph with no drama, better aesthetics too. These are the reasons why you should buy the Mt03 than the MT07, not unless you aim to get to 100mph in 10 seconds than the MT07 does that for you lol.
@@ridehead8771Well said, I bought my MT03 thinking I’d move on to something larger but it does everything so well, I’m keeping it. The only new bike I’d consider is the R3.
After riding my small single cylinder 125 for 3 years thinking about a upgrade. What u thinks the best? MT 03 or CB 300R?

Would the 2019 model be almost as good as the 2020 mt 03? the only thing concerning me is the suspension upgrade which makes me think the suspension on the 2019 may not have been as good?
Tried both, could not see any difference - and got £1200 off a 2019 - so guess what I bought...

I'm 6'1" , a beginner, looking for my first bike, would you recommend this for a guy over 6', aesthetic wise? I don't want to look like a big dude with a small bike.

Go to a dealership and sit on one, see how it feels
Many says that over 5'9'' it's too low and the large tank would force you knees outward.

Z400 has just enough power to move my body, I suspect. I've ridden the Ninja 300 and the RC390. Only the later was close enough to the sort of power I would need to keep my 200 lb body going.
Not a bad bike but 1 ride on a KTM Duke 390/Svartpilen 401 and you'll have forgotten all about the MT03. Granted, the Yamaha will most likely cause you no grief from a long term perspective and probably ticks the head decision box. Still, for most, the grin factor will be noticeably wider on the other two :)
I like both those bikes as well as the BMW G310R and Honda's CB300R, but the major problem with all of them is the single cylinder which causes too much vibration at freeway speeds. The twin cylinder MT-03 does not suffer from those "small bike" issues which is why it wins this category in my opinion. Albeit slightly less good looking than the Svartpilen 401 and the CB300R.

Why are low powered bikes always promoted as beginner bikes. I'd have one just to commute. Ill have a second more powerful bike for fun.

The only difference you’re going to feel between this bike and the R3 is the extra weight from the orange paint. Grossly underpowered. Terrible all around. Z400 is a much better bike.

Good little bike but I think the cb500x/f/r are the best entry level bikes.
I had both and the MT03 its wayyyyyyy funnier !!! And besides it reaches 199km/h
CB500 much heavier. power to weight?
The Honda 500s are made of lead.
$900 cheaper and 40 lbs heavier than a Duke 390.
But more reliable.
