Ahem, it's "The frieze britches." Frieze being a type of cloth. It's curious how these tune names sometimes get changed by a kind of chinese whispers. Then again, the tunes aren't really their names, it's just a good way to know what we're talking about, so call it whatever you like between yourselves. Frieze to Friars is still quite funny though :-D
@Bluejay1981 Hah, your comment came up just as I was trying out the tune on my new tenor (low) D whistle. Yes, I too think of the song Cunla when playing this tune, and then there's "I buried my wife and danced on top of her", which was another song.
