@ItzLazyT1M Yea those old caves were something else. There were no massive wonders of huge caves and ancient cities, only narrow caverns and, in the absence of mobs, a deafening silence that let the imagination run wild.
tbh i think vanilla single player is calming, kind of like a liminal space.. and modded single player is calming but more unnerving because of how unfamiliar it can feel. like adventuring a cave and seeing blocks you haven't seen before, like "marble" or "limestone"
As a toddler back in 2013 I was desprate to find other players (in singleplayer mode) and I was just desperate to grief them with my op items taken from creative.
@ThiagavalThiagales yeah ik, back in the day when day me and brother found the village we were just screaming of happiness and celebrating, for finding a village (it was a small small village in the mountains biome)
Yeah I get what you mean, but that's an intentional type of scary, like the game wants you to be afraid of the deep dark, but he's on about the old Minecraft versions behind unintentionally scary
I have seen several videos about this topic, and your honesty touched me. Yeah... I couldn't explained it better. Minecraft, was definitely something else from the beginning.
It's the loneliness in a big world that really makes it scary for me although it's pretty mitigated by all the mobs Now imagine a horror mod which removes all mobs and adds eerie environmental scares that get worse with time, that'd be sick
I was playing Minecraft earlier today in a creative world. Music had ended, I was in a swamp biome building a fortress, sort of at night, and I felt like something was there. You know when you’re in a dark room, or turning the lights off in your basement? It was like that. Music started playing again and I jumped out of my chair
I'll be honest. Minecraft IS a liminal space. I remember playing title update 9 on the xbox 360 and shortly after having literal nightmares of me being at one of my builds from minecraft but it's real life. like, one moment I'd be in the dream literally petting my minecraft wolf, the next I'd see these weird entities off in the distance making the cave sounds while standing as giant orbs in the sky over the ocean nearby.
Amazing video! Very underrated! ❤ I always felt this way when I was younger playing Minecraft, I usually just stuck to creative mode since it didn’t feel as intimidating.
sadly i dont have any friends to play minecraft with, so i always play in a singleplayer world, and sometimes i even get scared from a horse or something when i turn around and its shuffing his face into mine! 😂😂😂
Not so long ago I made a world in beta 1.7.3 and these days I don't get that feeling - probably because I'm older and aware that the game has been picked apart for anything that could be found
No, it isn't. Roblox was always created to be a multiplayer game, which defeats the lonliness. Perhaps when there were no players, but roblox didn't have a music like minecraft, and overall wasn't sad at all
I am sorry, I know it's like off topic but sir what's your accent. Where are you from? I am fixated on that and I need to know or else I'm gonna wonder for the rest of my life please answer.
@@2canner I thought Greece, but the way you pronouced "Beta" didn't make sense for greek. Italian actually checks out. Though your blend of native and english is really good. :D
Even today, Minecraft has a weird feeling of emptiness. It is why i never play singleplayer. I just cant handle it for some reason
That's why I used to bring my dogs or cats in old caves, before the cave update.
I still bring em to caves like mineshafts, don't wanna feel lonely
@ItzLazyT1M Yea those old caves were something else. There were no massive wonders of huge caves and ancient cities, only narrow caverns and, in the absence of mobs, a deafening silence that let the imagination run wild.
I'm the opposite, the feeling is why I play singleplayer almost exclusively!
tbh i think vanilla single player is calming, kind of like a liminal space..

Whenever I create a new world, the first thing I do is find a village
As a toddler back in 2013 I was desprate to find other players (in singleplayer mode) and I was just desperate to grief them with my op items taken from creative.
God forbid what would happen if you would find a village
@ThiagavalThiagales yeah ik, back in the day when day me and brother found the village we were just screaming of happiness and celebrating, for finding a village (it was a small small village in the mountains biome)
Minecraft is still creepy today, especially when your underground and came across the Deep Dark, then the scary music starts.
-☝️🤓
thats not scary
@@Verlixos The nerd emoji really lost it's meaning 💀

Try turning the music off, playing in peaceful, and exploring a woodland mansion.

Try psychological horror lol I think you’ll enjoy it
I still remember finding out about Minecraft from some other family members and getting it back when it was in beta. Good times...
Your video went from 360 views to 1400 from the time I marked it to watch later to actually watching it, hell yeah

Minecraft is the greatest game to have grazed this earth tbh
Old Minecraft is kind like a backrooms level.
Alpha has one of the weirdest feelings ive experienced, but i kinda like it for some reason
thank god minecraft today doesen t feel like that anymore
