“Such a well-explained and engaging video! You’ve broken down the topic in a way that’s both informative and easy to follow. The visuals and examples really help drive the points home. Great work-looking forward to more content like this!”
I dont have a Seiko 5, but own a Seiko Chronograph from the 90s with the alarm function. It still runs even after 30 years of use. They are higly durable for sure. Very informative video. Thank you
I don't know exactly, maybe if you check with watchmakers, they do have old seiko 5 lying around. But why do you want an old Seiko? If you're looking for vintage watches, you can get an omega or a GP at a 10-20k, but finding them is a task. People mostly buy from eBay.
I love my Seiko 5 Sports SRPD61K1. The teal is super interesting. Yes the accuracy and the finishing leaves a lot to be desired but yes definitely a great competition to some Swiss brands.
@saimanideepb how is your experience with the watch till date? Any issues? How can I contact you to know your ownership experience as i am also planning to buy the same model
Hi I have a seiko 5 sports with 4R36 caliber. I wear it like once in a week so I prefer winding it every 3rd day by hand winding . My question is how to know when or if it is fully wound and does overwinding will cause any damage ? Thanks so much in advance.
Reasonable doubt, I have gone through this phase. Best way is to not wind at all. Just pick up your watch, shake it a little, it will start running, set the time, go out. That's it. We have this urge to wind fully, which is not required. No, it will not get damage by over-winding. Also, no need to wind it every 3rd day if you're not using. Please use it once in a while for sure. 4R36 is a manual+auto. So, it's okay. But the best way for an automatic is to just give it a shake. P.S. You don't need to wind it fully, just give it 2 turns and done. It's an automatic for a reason. If you're winding all the time, you're treating it as a mechanical.
Most of Seiko 5 models have crown at 4’o clock position which I find a little odd. My favorite is the field series with a crown at 3’o clock position which is also not recessed. I wish all the models had atleast 100m water resistance for their price. (No.. I don’t mention Sapphire crystal !!)
When the Seiko 5 was first introduced, the self-winding mechanism didn't require as much crown winding, enabling a smaller crown at the 4 o'clock position. Easier to keep something recessed at 4 than at 3.
Yeah, it's a great bang for your buck. You will not regret it. It has a good wrist presence with all the specs you would need + the tag of a Swiss watch. Seastar collection has a good history as well.
Why do you wanna buy a mecha-quartz in the first place? There are no advantages as such. Go for a quartz one. I am soon making a video on the DWC mechaquartz by the way.
Go for the Tsuyosa if you want mechanical. I am also inclined towards the same. You can choose PRX if you want to have more social signal value, as Tissot is considered more premium. Think from the movement perspective, is it okay for you to set time and wind at times once the power reserve dies. Or you want something quick that you can just put and leave (quartz). I know people who appreciate automatic but prefers quartz for the sheer practicality. Only you know, what kind of a person you're.✌️
I just want to buy SNXS79k seiko 5 automatic from ebuy , but they shipped internationally So not sure about how much custom levied , do you have any idea sirji
@ Yes but problem is that from japan is cost around 15310rs (including customs and shipping) Ebuy without customs 10285 rs (only shipping included) Diff 5000 rs If i order from ebuy than customs is more than 5000 or not
It's really a good looking dress watch. I would say, go for it. It has a sapphire crystal as well. Do check the Tsuyosa collection as well if you are exploring Citizen. You can trust Citizen, they make really value for money watches. I love my Citizen automatic, their dials are beautiful.
An automatic watch has just mechanical pieces, it can't set time automatically. If you want a watch like that, you can explore the Casio G-shock with bluetooth connectivity or the Citizen Eco-Drive Satellite Wave GPS.
I'm planning one comparison video between the green dials of Seiko. Marine GMT vs Turtle vs Alpinist I'll plan on the top 10 seiko watches too, thanks for the idea. 🙏
@@Nobody-hj6hh if you can limit your budget so you can get Casio mdv107d . You can get it under 6k in sale. It’s one of the best under 10k . It has screw down crown and 200m of wr. Only purchase it if you have average to large wrist.
I would suggest to go between casio g shock/ efr series or timex marlin/ q panda chrono.. Personally I would prefer timex for dress/elegance & casio for sporty/casual look.
Sorry bro, I can't buy a ₹50K digital watch just to review. I buy watches which I would like to wear. I will try in future, not now. I hope you understand.
I wouldn't necessarily say that quality for the price is a "selling point" for Seiko anymore. QC issues, bad quality bracelets and clasps doesn't really scream quality. Although their movements are extremely good value for money, they still are quite inaccurate and havent been regulated. Seiko needs to up their game if they still want to compete with the likes of microbrands or other Chinese brands.

That's interesting, I never thought of Seiko 5 like that. Would love to see some vintage watch reviews and reason behind their names also. Thanks
Nice idea, can plan a video on the famous watch names. 😎
Favourite Seiko from current lineup is SRPD59K1 🧡

1. Ask someone traveling overseas to get one.
2. Order from Amazon Japan website.
3. Buy the new interpretation of the SNXS i.e, SRPK89K1
@TheWatchlist.Official Thank you sir for your suggestion
Please make video about vintage omega’s
Yes, I am trying to get my hands on vintage Omegas. Will soon make one video.
I am planning to buy Seiko srpd61k1 which is costing around 27k. Is it worth the price?
Yes, it's totally worth it. If you're buying offline, try to get store discount. MRP is 30K, but you can try for 15% discount, if not more.
Loving it. Ethos was giving 20% but my choice of color was not available. Got it from Just in time at 15% off.

I can't speak for what has happened in the past, but currently their movements are quite accurate.
I dropped my Seiko 5 from 0.75 meter and it's movement got damaged and the 12 marker dropped
Did you get it fixed?
same happened twice with my brother's Seiko 5 Sports SRPK91K1. real barbie of seiko
