"Navigating the Maze of Substance Use & Mental Health"

Kate Appleman, MA, MBA, LPC, CAADC, CSAT, CCS addresses the co-occurrence of mental health challenges and substance use disorders. People addicted to drugs are roughly twice as likely to suffer from mood and anxiety disorders, with the reverse also true.
Both mental health and substance use disorders are treatable. This presentation addressed paths to recovery from co-occurring disorders, which can include integrated approaches and ongoing care. We were also joined by a person in recovery who shared her personal story.
