When Ange came in most people thought wed be lucky to finish in the top 10, but after the brilliant start the Chelsea game and poor performances against Wolves and Brighton have cost us dear but a top 5 finish is still an improvement on last season and the football is a hell of a lot better, so id say 7/10
No one said you'd be bottom half, stop over exaggerating
@@kishenparekh9416yes they did, they said that at the start bc Harry Kane left
@@FoldBloxpeople who said arsenal wouldn’t challenge for the title again. Some people are loud and don’t know what they’re talking about. No serious person said spurs would finish outside top 8
Does anyone sees parallels between Ange's first season and Erik's ? Both are system based coaches that initially 'transformed' the way their clubs played - getting good results, being a breath of fresh air while walking into dysfunctional clubs. Like EtH, Ange's side is ambling towards the end of season having been found out by opponents.
I thought spurs would really struggle without kane. They've been excellent. Occasionally "spursy" but considering the low expectations 9/10
Why would you have low expectations ? probably sums up your season!! you have put it on a plate for Villa...
5/10 tottenham were 24 points of arsenal last season 20 now btw conte was 4th when he was sacked tottenham have also conceded more than Man u 5 is generous
I think our start to the season has really warped peoples expectations. We had an amazing start then lost 5/6 key players in one game some longer term. I think he’s doing a good job considering he came into a new league and immediately lost his best player and arguably our best ever player. Granted the one way or no way of playing doesn’t always work and it’s frustrating he doesn’t have a plan b but when it does work it’s great to watch and over time it will get better. Most people predicted Spurs to be mid table so yeah I’m happy “mate”
10/10. We are a Europa league team with this squad so we are exactly were we need to be. Football is really exciting. I like how we go 1 maybe 2 goals down then try really good to come back. It entertains the fans which is what the Spurs is all about. And if the football does not hit the mark Beyoncé in concert defo will. We are spoilt really and should be grateful that our beer comes up through the bottom of our cups
You are worse than a Europa league team but 10/10 is to much 6 max
I notice you said 'cups' and not 'trophies' .......lol
I’m an Arsenal fan but I think he’s a decent manager and has done well in his first season in the prem. If he wants to go to the next level he needs to be more detail orientated and have a plan B and C for different scenarios. We had the same under Wenger where it was our way and nothing else and unfortunately that does not work in the modern game- you get found out just like Spurs did against Chelsea.
Its been a good first season wait till next season spurs fans will be calling for his head this is the Premier League
When Harry Kane left, nobody gave them a chance of finishing in the top 10.
Stop exaggerating 😭
@billyalder7950 Why am I exaggerating? Their leading goalscorer had gone, Son never had a good season last season, so people thought without Kane, who was going to step up and where will the goals come from. To be 5th is a great.
Delivered a very on brand spurs campaign, 10/10 😂
Big up Mikey!
His gameplan got figured out will be a hard second season for him
From your assessment I can say that all top 4 will struggle next season because they are somewhat shaky
Spurs are where they always are, 4th to 5th in the PL. That is so predictable. They are always short of 2 or 3 quality players to take them higher. Blame the owners. Managers can only do their best with what they have.
Bang on there Enic been there 23 years and gone through endless managers and never pay top dollar for big players
If I were Southgate, I wouldn't be taking Maddison to the Euros, he is MIA for Spurs. I also think Maddison should be start the game against Chelsea on the bench as he offered nothing against Arsenal and needs a good kick up the backside.
Brillant job mate keep up highline next year too . Arsenal fan :D
Arteta spent a billion won 1 fa Cup and community shield lad
@ellejones2342 which is more than spurs
Keep being too scared to play against big teams and always falling short Arteta 👍
he is perfect for spurs all bark and no bite
Overall, a solid 2 out of 10 👏
We are excatlly where we should be , 9 months in charge , top 6 team with this squad
5th is a good season with the new style.
Yes if we had won The FA Cup too!
A style wich doesn't work
B lucky 2 end 5th , think 6st will b Spurs , the way they can't defend freekicks , attack corners for Spurs , don't pick up Spurs forward running players, too ease to play back without looking what is upfront
decent trophyless season that, 7/10 mate
Only 1 manager I can think of who won a prem title in their first year and that was Dagliesh in 1995.
@@nathanking5137Antonio Conte in 2017
@kevincollett830 ah yeah he was appointed at chelshit in 2016 wasn't he..
@@nathanking5137Mourinho Ancelotti Pellegrini Conte

5/10 I'll judge him more next season
If this has been a sucessful season !, they will probably have a week off in N london if they actually win something..
Ever the players are not up to it or the system at fault, it all comes down to top six at best .
Definently a 7/10
Of course it's a great campaign, they won the league in October remember
He’s improved spurs, but they’ve dropped off significantly since November. I’d say 7/10
if they won all their games it'd be their highest tally in premier league history, amazing! really good point.
Not highest, watch again
No it wouldn't and that's incorrect so not only didn't you listen you can't even edit it correctly 🙄
If they win all remaining games you donut
@@nathanking5137 donuts are delicious
New style. Philosophy, just lost best spurs player of all time. New bunch of players that never played together before. Brought confidence. 8.5/10. Top 4 would boost it but overall great first season from ange from a city fan 👏
How is Champions league "success"? somebody tell me?
The end of last season was a complete capitulation, you cannot take the games after Conte walked away into account. After the new manager boom we have averaged a points tally of 1.5 points, that’s with no cup distractions. Next season with more fixtures, we will get a higher frequency of calf and hamstring injuries. Also remember Newcastle have had a horrible season with injuries and a higher volume of games, Chelsea are still under construction but getting better every week. We really only had to be better than villa but Emery is 8 months further into that project. I really thought this season we would finish 12th on the assumption Kane was leaving. However with the signings we had made I did feel top 6 was possible. Unless we invest heavily in the summer up front, at left back and in the central midfield I think we are looking at top 8 next season….. It started out like a dream but is fading fast to reality. Big changes needed to ensure we concede less goals next term.
Same amount of points and conte was 4th when sacked but the way you play you should be 7th-8th
Btw Unai emery spent 91 million Ange 200 unai emery also got villa from 14th to 4th this is his first full season btw
@@Dean-vn8tn net spend of £140mill, but not many of those are his signings btw and we lost our best player. Kane was directly involved in 32 of our 60 points tally last season. That’s a huge blow for any team, I think a 1.42 points average will be where we are at come end of the season if we discount the first ten games. So yeah 8th would be more accurate, also a few signings have been loaned out as part of the clubs longer term goals so not all that money will have an impact on our performances btw. A summer spending spree is needed but unless we sell more players, the new faces will be more bargain buys.
What a poor analysis..the dude who said, spurs could finish with 75 points if they win the next 5 matches...man he will give an insight beginning of next season that spurs could finish with 114 points if they win all 38 matches..
Last year, when manutd came 3rd, media: chelsea, liverpool were so bad that is why...
You don't hear them saying that for villa, spurs even liverpool this time.
Trust me as a Villa fan it's all we hear.
@@MindSurf248 probably from fans
Tottenham even have the same amount of points and Liverpool and Aston villa have around the same amount of points but the tottenham pr is crazy
Expected more because he still got some decent players in for sure in thé defence and still they concede so much i don't understand
It's the change in style and getting used to the high line. The same thing happened to Pochettino in year one, and they built from that the next year and challenged.
I don't say Ange first season is no up to standar😂, it is and up too now good , the only problem for me is the insisting with a one way playing against every team ,where teams ajust easily against Spurs .
That's how good teams play, he's not trying to build a 5th place team he's trying to build a winning team. He might fail but he's gonna try
Nice football but not enough to challenge for a title. 6/10.
25 years of NO TROPHIES under Levy but let’s keep praising 😂😂
And 17 different managers.
And the owner in trouble for trading conspiracy. You can't make it up can you! 🤣
Support someone else then
16 years actually mate
FACT
Spurs have always been a 4th-6th place club. They are where they should be.
Their fans have weird expectations about their club.
If Spurs finish 4th and Arsenal finish 5th, they will praise their team, and will think that they had an amazing season finishing 4th.
If Spurs finish 4th and Arsenal finish 2nd, they will criticise their team as if they had a rubsh season finishing 4th.
It seems that, to their fans, it doesn’t matter how well or poor Spurs have actually performed.
We are the richest club in London why should we not crave success?
@@WElofsson Because you're Spurs. Duh!!!
@@im_tankster 🤓
Honestly think he's done a brilliant job, considering we've lost harry kane
What's he done?
@@Dean-vn8tn Most likely going to finish 5th without their all time top goal scorer and a season with numerous injuries to key players littered throughout.
@@olliemccartney9850 so nothing he's done a good job
@@Dean-vn8tn Last year they finished 8th with arguably the best striker in the world who bagged 30 goals; that meant no European football. This year they’ll finish 5th without their world-class striker and achieve European football for next season. That is an achievement, considering Ange has zero Premier League experience.
5/10 ...for me and 3/10 for CONTE ....😮
At the start of the season people where saying 8th. 5th isn't bad
8.5/10 imo
spurs happy with mediocrity. excellent season indeed.
I’ll rate it - not as good as Ten Hags first season, but because he calls the media mate and comes across well he gets a free ride.
Why the HECK should the expectations of Man Utd be the same as Spurs?
As good as it will get
Will it be better than Erik Ten hag first season as a united manager? nah …
So don’t rate until the second season 😅
It will only be a good season, in fact a great season if they beat Manchester City for us 😁
Why don’t you wait until sesson is over. !!!!
Until they stop haemorrhaging goals, it’s simply BielsaBall with posher players. Droll but going nowhere 😣😣
A "superb" first season? Who is this guy?😆
It really is not. We might get a few more points than last season but take into consideration we didn't have any European football, it would have been a good chance of getting somewhere in a domestic cup, or getting top 4, and we've done neither, while Ange spent about £150m on new signings already. Poch got top 5 and a cup final in his first season and spent nowhere near as much, with a poorer team than the one we have now. Plus we're conceding as many goals as we did last season, which was a 20 year high for goals conceded.
could they beat Man City?
McCubs!
We've got one-punch man and now we've got one-tactic man
💯, ange only plays one style and he sticks to it like a trained dog
Even though they certainly have a better squad, the whole Spurs situation this season reminds me of the Christ Wilder / Sheffield United 2019/20, where for the first few months they seemed to blow teams away with a marauding attack with the unique overlapping CB style at the time, but once they were found out it all went to sh!t, same thing has happened with Ange/Spurs.
Well said but with that said, Ange deserves a second season and the ability to sell & buy players as well as develop those he keeps to fill out his tactical style. If he gets two transfer windows I could see Spurs finishing 4th with a domestic trophy by the end of next season.
When Kane left, some so called "pundits" thought Spurs will battle for relegation 😂
That’s why they’re pundits and not experts
these pundits r as a joke as ange is.
Yeah definitely a " superb season for Tottenham by their standards" of stop arsenal at any cost 😂😂😂😂
Ange been worked out

Disaster
Done well in parts is Well overrated.
First half of the season great! But then opponents figured him out and since then terrible and typical spurs.
They didn't beat Arsenal, which is what their whole season rides on. So, a failure.
I think just the fact they spent 200 million last summer and committed the worst bottle job in Premier League history being the first team after 10 games to have 26 points and not get top 4. Not to mention the fact they went on a 5 game winless streak after that being the first team in history to fail to win after going up a goal in 5 consecutive games dumping them out of the top 4 means he's underachieved.
The reason it's the biggest premier league bottle job is because they were top on game week 10 on 26 points, 5 games later and they were 5th with 27 points after spending 200 million pound on a squad that Conte had in the top 4 last season.
Because by the 11th game they lost 11 players due to injury and had international duties. They were scraped thin having to player people out of position. Money spent is irrelevant
😂What a load of waffle
@@STSNOTO16 same points as last season with 5 games to go. Tell me how that's worse than last season? Considering we lost our best goal scorer and had so many injuries for the majority of the season.
@@nathanking5137 3 first team players were injured, 2 suspended and the rest were bench/reserve players. If injuries are a big deal then Arsenal didn't bottle the league last season and ten Hag shouldn't be sacked
@@nathanking5137 Conte had 49 points before he was sacked with 10 games to go, if they didn't sack Conte they probably would've finished with 66-70 points. Spurs have 5 games left and 3 incredibly tough fixtures
Rating -9 " Its who we are mate" absolute trash can!!
First
no titles, huge improvement... yet no titles. international plastic fans won't like it.
extremely underwhelming
Poor
They lost Kane but spent over 200 mil. To say it is a terrific season is an overreaction. Man Utd and Chelsea have just been terrible, and Newcastle have been plagued with injuries. 5th is probably about right.
He has been found out
A lot of Spurys mentality comments being made just shows that they need excuses to justify his meh season, he has been bang average compared to their rivals.
Spurs fans thought they were destined for greatness after GW4. 😂
There’s lots of sensationalism here but realistically it’s 6.5/10. A good season but nothing special.
They should have given both cups a better go and the league cup especially was very poor. However qualifying for Europa League is slightly above what was expected.
Let’s not forget context. His first season, losing Kane and playing attractive football push the score up. The score is then pushed down by the fact that they blew a great chance to get CL football and the fact their underlying numbers are now being reflected in the results suggesting the early season form was the anomaly.
As I said, all things considered a good season assuming they don’t get CL football.
Three
Failure to beat Chelsea is a sackable offense
Failure to score against Chelsea is a sackable

1st season was a failure
An F for his refusal to make adjustments to his system and fix giving up set piece goals!
Not that great 😕
5/10.
There have been some highlights, but equally some awful moments.
Some good signings, but way too open. Not too bad given all the injuries, but after their start to the season it should have been much better.
