When Ange came in most people thought wed be lucky to finish in the top 10, but after the brilliant start the Chelsea game and poor performances against Wolves and Brighton have cost us dear but a top 5 finish is still an improvement on last season and the football is a hell of a lot better, so id say 7/10

Does anyone sees parallels between Ange's first season and Erik's ? Both are system based coaches that initially 'transformed' the way their clubs played - getting good results, being a breath of fresh air while walking into dysfunctional clubs. Like EtH, Ange's side is ambling towards the end of season having been found out by opponents.

I think our start to the season has really warped peoples expectations. We had an amazing start then lost 5/6 key players in one game some longer term. I think he’s doing a good job considering he came into a new league and immediately lost his best player and arguably our best ever player. Granted the one way or no way of playing doesn’t always work and it’s frustrating he doesn’t have a plan b but when it does work it’s great to watch and over time it will get better. Most people predicted Spurs to be mid table so yeah I’m happy “mate”

10/10. We are a Europa league team with this squad so we are exactly were we need to be. Football is really exciting. I like how we go 1 maybe 2 goals down then try really good to come back. It entertains the fans which is what the Spurs is all about. And if the football does not hit the mark Beyoncé in concert defo will. We are spoilt really and should be grateful that our beer comes up through the bottom of our cups

I’m an Arsenal fan but I think he’s a decent manager and has done well in his first season in the prem. If he wants to go to the next level he needs to be more detail orientated and have a plan B and C for different scenarios. We had the same under Wenger where it was our way and nothing else and unfortunately that does not work in the modern game- you get found out just like Spurs did against Chelsea.

The end of last season was a complete capitulation, you cannot take the games after Conte walked away into account. After the new manager boom we have averaged a points tally of 1.5 points, that’s with no cup distractions. Next season with more fixtures, we will get a higher frequency of calf and hamstring injuries. Also remember Newcastle have had a horrible season with injuries and a higher volume of games, Chelsea are still under construction but getting better every week. We really only had to be better than villa but Emery is 8 months further into that project. I really thought this season we would finish 12th on the assumption Kane was leaving. However with the signings we had made I did feel top 6 was possible. Unless we invest heavily in the summer up front, at left back and in the central midfield I think we are looking at top 8 next season….. It started out like a dream but is fading fast to reality. Big changes needed to ensure we concede less goals next term.

@@Dean-vn8tn net spend of £140mill, but not many of those are his signings btw and we lost our best player. Kane was directly involved in 32 of our 60 points tally last season. That’s a huge blow for any team, I think a 1.42 points average will be where we are at come end of the season if we discount the first ten games. So yeah 8th would be more accurate, also a few signings have been loaned out as part of the clubs longer term goals so not all that money will have an impact on our performances btw. A summer spending spree is needed but unless we sell more players, the new faces will be more bargain buys.

It really is not. We might get a few more points than last season but take into consideration we didn't have any European football, it would have been a good chance of getting somewhere in a domestic cup, or getting top 4, and we've done neither, while Ange spent about £150m on new signings already. Poch got top 5 and a cup final in his first season and spent nowhere near as much, with a poorer team than the one we have now. I think just the fact they spent 200 million last summer and committed the worst bottle job in Premier League history being the first team after 10 games to have 26 points and not get top 4. Not to mention the fact they went on a 5 game winless streak after that being the first team in history to fail to win after going up a goal in 5 consecutive games dumping them out of the top 4 means he's underachieved.
The reason it's the biggest premier league bottle job is because they were top on game week 10 on 26 points, 5 games later and they were 5th with 27 points after spending 200 million pound on a squad that Conte had in the top 4 last season.

Because by the 11th game they lost 11 players due to injury and had international duties. They were scraped thin having to player people out of position. Money spent is irrelevant

They lost Kane but spent over 200 mil. To say it is a terrific season is an overreaction. Man Utd and Chelsea have just been terrible, and Newcastle have been plagued with injuries. 5th is probably about right.

There’s lots of sensationalism here but realistically it’s 6.5/10. A good season but nothing special.
They should have given both cups a better go and the league cup especially was very poor. However qualifying for Europa League is slightly above what was expected.
Let’s not forget context. His first season, losing Kane and playing attractive football push the score up. The score is then pushed down by the fact that they blew a great chance to get CL football and the fact their underlying numbers are now being reflected in the results suggesting the early season form was the anomaly.
As I said, all things considered a good season assuming they don’t get CL football.

    5/10.
There have been some highlights, but equally some awful moments.
Some good signings, but way too open. Not too bad given all the injuries, but after their start to the season it should have been much better.
    Average at best
