Don't ever lube the upper crank assembly on a Fleetwood Pop Up Camper. The entire assembly relies on the friction connection of the pressure plate to rachet up the roof. The pressure plate needs to be clean and dry...it is "Mission Critical".
Don't ever lube the crank assembly. It has basically a clutch mechanism that works by friction and the lube prevents that. So clean all that wd-40 off or your asking for troubles
Ye it a friction plate luckily it’s behind the bracket assembly so him spraying WD-40 isn’t gonna get back behind that plate.. At most it may help lubricant the shaft push.
Thanks for the good info except WD-40, are you kidding? You’re putting what amounts to glue on your chain and sprockets. WD-40 is not a lubricant, it was never intended to be lubricant. It is a Water Dispersant, hence the name. WD-40 will turn to glue in a few months. Use something like teflon spray or Dry-Slide which are lubricants AND dry without a sticky residue to hold grit on your chain and sprockets. Your roof raising equipment will last much longer.
OK now I’m all kinds of confused on using lubricant or WD-40 but he also doesn’t see how to get underneath it. Do I have to jack it up and put the stabilizers down in the back how do I get under it?
Is this video some weird attempt to get people to do all the things that they should never do to their pop-up trailer? For the life of me, I cannot figure out why you would tell people to contaminate their upper crank assembly with WD40 and spray grease. Did you read the manual before making this bizarre video? Why in the hell would anybody ever spray wd40 on gas valves, gas fittings and brake parts? For the love of God, please wipe up that mess after yourself.
This video was sponsored by.... wait for it.... WD40! Get yourself a bottle - or ten - today and spray everything in sight! Hell spray everything not in sight as well, why not?
Wow…a “what NOT to do video” for sure!

Where are the plates located?
Hey do you recommend lubricating the chain it’s self on a crank assembly?

Do not spray lubricant on your brakes! Chain and cable lube works well for the chain, cable sheaves, and the stabilizer jacks.
Thank you. I didn’t know I had to do this.

lubricate your brakes?
My exact same trailer 😅

There is enough room to get under, don't use the stabilizer Jacks to lift the camper higher, you can damage them!
This should be I'm a nut , I'm a nut.....
That wd40 will eventually dry out after attacking whatever grease u already have on there skip that part lol
That doesn’t mess the locking mechanism? When I first bought mine it had been over lubricated and would stay up
Please do not follow all of these suggestions. And use a dry lubricant on pulleys and cables not wd40
