Recently marked the 3 year anniversary since the release date of The Order 1886. As one of the first massive PS4 exclusive games, The Order 1886 was met with lots of controversy. The game was shorts, and lacking in several ways. Many people complained the game felt more like a movie than an actual video game. In my original review back in 2015, I found myself agreeing with most of the flaws. However, the story, characters, gameplay, graphics, cutscenes and cliffhanger ending nonetheless made for a package that formed a great base for what could and I believe still can be an amazing franchise. Sadly, it's looking unlikely we'll ever get to see what a The Order 1886 2, The Order 1887, or whatever The Order 1886 sequel would be called be like. There's one thing I do know, if we end up seeing a trailer for it from Ready at Dawn at E3 2018, it will blow us all away. Thanks for watching! - Ігри
Today, we finally reached the incredible milestone of 100,000 subscribers. It's all thanks to your amazing support that we find ourselves here, 6 years after I started this UA-cam journey! I hope you enjoyed this new episode of my in-depth gaming series, where I talked about a game that has always felt a little special to me, because I've always appreciated it for what it was even though the media and a group of gamers might not have. Next Sunday, I plan on uploading a special episode, in which I look back at the past years on UA-cam, how I grew from a small channel that just uploaded Uncharted 3 multiplayer content every now and then, to where we are today. I hope you'll look forward to it! If you want to support me in everything I do, then please make sure to like this video, share it with your friends, and become a Patreon supporter at www.Patreon.com/RobinGaming. Any bit of support is appreciated, and makes me able to keep bringing these kinds of videos to you all. Thank you!
RobinGaming Hey Robin great video and great channel you’re the best and i love that you love uncharted as much as i do i wish the best in life and in your career and i hope you keep doing great videos and keep doing your thing you do it great keep up the great work and don’t believe those people that say you’re horrible they don’t even know what they’re talking about please shout me out in your next video i would really appreciate it if you did and God bless you

100K amazing
I would love to see a sequel. This game has a unique atmosphere that I really like despite its flaws.

What flaws?
I personally love this game. Shame it won't get a sequel.
There’s still hope :]
can we please start a damn petition
I heard the studio are working on something, but some claim that's it's a new IP. Hopefully they're doing the sequel in secret.
Oh come on :(! this game is bloody amazing
I bought it on psn with 70% discount, just finished it now, love it very much, a big budget game.
One of the best video I had ever seen from robingaming. This guy knows how to make professional videos and great editing, this is how gaming sites should be.
The comparison to Uncharted 1 is spot on.
I would really love a sequel for the order 1886
The Order 1886 needs a squeal.

People dont apreciate good games anymore, People talk shit with out playing it

nathan t - I died. Lmao.
Like a pig
Funny thing about the length is that statistics show ,that most people that played The Order, didn't even finish it.
LMAO great point.
JackmoveJohnny it's so boring, so I don't blame them.
Same with literally any game
JackmoveJohnny lol I almost got the platinum..jusy didn't find all the notes
JackmoveJohnny by statistics if u look at trophies most people dont finish any game.
I absolutely loved this game, setting, story, gameplay and yes even the long cutscenes
The story was unfinished and unexplained including the ending
Thank you Robin. Although videos like this one really won't get as many views as low quality clickbait videos, what you are producing is gold. Videos like this make me appreciate games more and more. I loved the order, but now I feel like i love it even more. We need a sequel!
Thanks man! I agree, after the last video about the PS5 blew up, I had some people tell me it was a super weird move to make the next one about a game like The Order, as it would no way be able to attract lots of new people. But ultimately, I make these videos about the games and topics I want to make them about, which I know my subs will appreciate as well. Hopefully, people will show support even more because of that. I dont aim to reach millions of people, I just want my subscribers to enjoy the videos I put out.
robin
with you i dont need those sites with million followers

God I so badly want a sequel
Absolutely brilliant video Robin and hit the nail on the head. I personally didn't play Order till last year but I can definitely still appreciate it. I would love to see a sequel especially due to the ending that it had. Maybe one day but time will tell.

For me, the problem with The Order: 1886, was less about the time, and more about the replay value. For example, Resident Evil is a game I can beat within 2 hours or less, but the value comes from replaying it again as Jill, getting alternate scenes and endings, and unlocking weapons/costumes/and modes like invisible enemies. Things that helped replaying it feel different enough, and extra challenging, that replaying was a different experience. Whereas the Order, you play it once on the hardest difficulty, and that's it. You could play it with Photo Mode on, but that's the only new experience you can get. Even a DVD has more stuff to give besides the movie, like Behind the Scenes videos, and Commentaries to help promote more viewings. DVDs that don't have extra features are bargain bin prices. So it was a problem for The Order to be priced so high, the same way a $50 Blu-ray that’s just the movie, and only the movie is a problem. It didn't help matters that Uncharted 1 was more fun to play, causing players to still give it a replay, whereas The Order was mostly cutscenes, that can be watched on UA-cam.

Order 1886 is a perfect example of the typical situation in gaming community:
One random article on the internet: "This game is bad"
Player One: "I guess this game is bad then..."
Player Two: "Yeah you are right! It is bad!"
Player Three: "I hate it!"
Everyone: "Oh yeah I hate it too!.... what is it about anyway?"
Congratulation for 100k, hope you reach more
CONGRATS ON THE 100K ROBIN!!! So proud of you. It's these kind of videos you do that make me love your channel. I'm such a fan of this in-depth gaming series. As someone who was super hyped for The Order before it came out and was disappointed with the final product, I would think with a second swing at it, RaD could put out a great final product. It is interesting that they say "based on a new IP." That would lead me to believe that it could very well be a sequel to The Order, which is (technically) a new IP. So we might just get that wish! Anyway, awesome job again. Gotta make that Silver Play Button video when you get it next year! ;)

Congratulations on 100K subs! Keep up the work; your videos are great!
Couple of days ago, i played this game at my cousin s house and i loved it.
Because you didn't pay $60 for a 5 hours game. Everything is bad in this game except for the graphic. Wait until you fight the "boss". They are the worst thing in the game: repetitive fight (trust me even the first time experience feel dump), re-skin. Story is cool and stuff but what is that ending? Nothing is solved in that ending. They are supposed to be more? If there are then just give us that more in this game. Don't make it like a sequel bait. Or just make the story following this game first, it would be more interesting then make this a DLC. Watch the angry review for this game. He has the footages to prove that
The repetitive combat was acceptable because the story and graphics and beauty of the world made it immersive. But the end was as if it was the intermission..? If it was twice the size and had explained the story it could have been a great game
Shehryar Rabbani
The story, really? The setting is cool, but the story itself was pretty by the numbers and predictable. The graphics were gorgeous, but most environments were bland and boring. It could have been a great game if they did more to set the shooting mechanics apart and did not have 50% of the gameplay just being you walking a character around.
MGsubbie the good friend turning out to be the bad was really good. Come on bro,the traitor story was really good amd could habe been better if they proved galahad innocent and stuff and show how he earned the trust back. Plus more wolf fights would have madd it epic since not many lycan and werevolves games around
"the good friend turning out to be the bad was really good."
Are you being serious? That was the most predictable part of the entire story. The SECOND that character came on screen I was like "yeah this guy is going to be the main bad guy of the story."
Thank you so much Robin , i found your channel back when you uploaded your Goodbye Ps3 video and since then I’ve been watching you , Definitely your one of my favorite channels on youtube , whatever you upload i always watch and enjoy

Squall Ranger ok
Damn I would love a sequel for this game. TBH I didn't even like the game my first time through, but came around to liking it so much more after my second playthrough 2 years later. A potential sequel could be so much better simply by improving a few things such as more gameplay elements, a longer campaign, better boss fights, a multiplayer mode, and removing the black bars. Great in depth vid once again Robin and congrats on reaching 100k!
That's called Stockholm Syndrome.
"A potential sequel could be so much better simply by improving a few things such as more gameplay elements, a longer campaign, better boss fights, a multiplayer mode, and removing the black bars" Yeah that's definitely a "simple" way of improving a sequel. What you're describing is an entirely different game from what we got
John Butler how is that a completely different game. Have you never seen a sequel implement new things into a franchise. Uncharted 2 added a multiplayer mode, a longer campaign, and better boss fights (Draza, Lazarevic). It was still a very similar game in terms of game structure.
Uncharted 2 was built on solid foundation, The Order isnt. The things you state wanting for the sequel wouldn't be "simple fixes" as you say, they would be a radical leap in content
Great video man , keep it up !! Congrats on 100k and I too would love a sequel to this game , the first was short but great !!
Congratulations for 100 k Robin, keep it up!
I'm pretty glad it bombed. It doesn't deserve a second chance. It was mediocre through and through, the epitome of the "cinematic" experience, which meant that the interactive part you'd expect from a game were sacrificed to deliver a narrative that in this instance didn't even manage to be passable nor spectacular in any way. This game was a barebones collection of clichés, from the gameplay to the story and characters.
The only original bone in that body was the setting, thankfully two months later a similar setting was put to use in an actually good game. How about we get a sequel to Bloodborne instead, a game that actually proved worthwhile from the get go ?
At first i was very indifferent about wanting a sequel to order as when I finished it I felt very unsatisfied. However thanks to your video, made me think back and i realized the certain aspects of the game that I really did enjoy. The story, gunplay, graphics, lore were great. If a sequel is made in which the quickTime events are not a huge part of the combat. Aswell increasing Play time then I say hell yeah to a sequel!
Ps great video made me subscribe to you.
i think what didn't help the order, is it ended when the story and gameplay really took off, perhaps another 2 hours would have been good, but I dunno.
i wonder how much preparation goes in to your speech cause it really is point on and much appreciated that you take the time to discuss in an abstract way both the bad and the good aspects of a product, you are perfect mate, you should keep doing this you deserve much ore subscribers, you have a talent to lay down on paper thoughts.
Road to 1 MILLION!! Congrats for 100K bro
The length wouldn't be an issue if it was replayable. Unfortunately, with all the unskippable cutscenes, it's far from replayable.
I was excited for the game when it was revealed. 4 characters all fighting alongside each other, is it gonna be co-op? Oh man, look at that lightning gun, these are the same guys that did some Ratchet and Clank games, can't wait to use some awesome weapons. And fighting werewolves, can't wait for this!
Then it comes out - no co-op, nothing but pistols and rifles outside of a few turret sections and the occasional cool weapon with limited, non-replenishable ammo, and only about a dozen werewolves with every other enemy being generic dudes in uniforms.
There's just no meat on it at all. Oh well, it's a damn shame but the industry would have only been made worse if this game actually succeeded and spawned imitators - and God knows, the industry is in a bad enough place as it is.
same guys who made ratchet and clank? didnt insomniac make r&c or am i missing something
I love this game, in fact it's one of my favorite original stories in some time. I just wish there was more to it. no not a multiplayer. More like bonus modes, extra story bits in someone else's perspective, anything to make the game last more than the 5 to 6 hours it took, for me at least, to beat it. With fantastically writing and even better graphics the game is still amazing though
I LOVE your videos great work, man.
Loved this video! The end of this video gave me goosebumps- Galahad standing over the view of London at night as you pushed it to full screen from its Original aspect ratio. Just an idea - A thought of More strategic separate 3rd person Battle-royal Mode for order 1886 sequel with large map including some parts of Neo-Victorian era London could make instant massive hit for a Playstation- only dedicated multiplayer category. Also hats off for great editing and script man!
Apart from the great atmospheric soundtrack and the graphics there's nothing great about this game. Boring repetitive cover shooter gameplay, predictable storylines and reused uninspired bossfights. I agree that there's great potential for a sequel especially because of the victorian steampunk setting. Maybe just add more game and less movie...
I don't know about great potential. As far as deserving a sequel, there are many other games that are far more deserving by either being an overall good to great game, having interesting gameplay ideas, or combination of the two.
Arslan Aladeen I just really like the steampunk victorian setting
Fair enough.
You just literally described uncharted and gears of war series but somehow people keep buying that bland tasteless shit over and over
I don't mind how long a game is as long as it is fun and enjoyable. If it is 8 hours or longer then I will be happy.
HarvZGames Game? It's a giant cinematic with quicktime events and the occasional bit of gameplay. I guess some people enjoy that, but personally i want more game in something called video game.
I never played The Order but I was talking about all games
well this one was only 6 hours long....
I've been subscribed to your channel since the Uncharted 3 Multiplayer days. Congrats on hitting 100K subs Robin! :)

congrats robin on 100K subs

and as always great video !
Robin, really, congratulations for this excelent argument, I have the same opinion.
Tbh the games length wasn't an issue I couldnt even complete it because it was so damn boring, and the gameplay was flawed at a design level.
Some good voice acting but a poor script and a cliché predictable plot, coupled with repetitive stale gameplay, shooting galleries and recycled QTE boss battles eventually drove me into a coma. Oh and dem OP shotgunners damn
Congratulations with the 100.000 subscribers. You made another great video. I like the order 1886 and hope there will be a sequel.

I think your argument for the length of the game is a bit of a strawman. You may not go to the movies to pick the longest film, but if most movies are an hour and a half to two hours and you pay full price to see a movie that's only twenty minutes, you might be upset. I think that people care about getting a full experience for their money. Especially if their paying $60. It's not that people want games to be 100+ hours. It's that people don't want to pay so much money for something they can get through in an afternoon.
Love the game looking forward for a sequel!!!
Yeah the argument about length was pretty poor when it came to using movies. Movies have a very minimal time variance. Theaters aren't going to let a 4-5 hour movie in anyways because you can't get enough showings. The flaw to his arguments is painfully obvious. Movies have a set cost, limited seating, and time is money for them. The time difference between a long movie and a short movie is minimal.
Games cost way more and time has value to the customer. 4-5 hours for a full price game is utterly unacceptable. Games are their own medium. They are not books. They are not movies. People want their money to be used on something worth it. And a full price game you finish in a couple hours isn't good enough for that.
@@Flaris well than take the comparison with McDonald's. Go and eat a steak for 30 bucks or get yourself 30 cheeseburgers. Quantity isn't always quality.

Totally agree with this video. The Order was a great and underrated game. They really need a sequel but more importantly a prequel. One that focuses on the half breeds more than the Order itsellf. Werewolves are such an underused genre in games. The should really focus on where the half breeds come from and focus more on them. Ive played this game multiple times and still love it.

This is easily the worst PS4 exclusive I put my hands on. All their effort when into shiny graphics and animation, they forgot to make a decent game around it.
Yes, the graphics were stunning, but most environment design was bland and boring. The only place I actually wanted to look around was Tesla's laboratory. The best thing you could say about the shooting was that the mechanics were okay. Most of the gameplay was just yawn inducing forced walking through static environments with zero interaction. The lore was cool, but the story was really predictable.
MGsubbie never agreed more
Broo congratz on 100k, tbh I don't want you to become 2big bc this is like one close community and I don't want it to end haha
The order 1886 fell victim to gaming most evil villain “ALL GAMES MUST COST 60 DOLLARS!” NO, they do not! Not all games must be 60! Not all games have the same value!
The game was crap. There was hardly any gameplay in it and when there is its really short and boring. I remember paying full price for this game id say the devs took my money and ran far away

These videos are why your channel will grow and grow. Amazing stuff
I think The Order: 1886 is an amazing experience. Is it perfect? Absolutely not. But it’s quite incredible for what it is. I think the only thing that the Developer did wrong was price the game at $59.99. I think it should have been priced at $19.99 at launch. Doing this probably would have fixed all of the controversy and bad word of mouth. I absolutely think it deserves a sequel. My idea for a perfect sequel would be to make the game longer, add a ton of customization and variety, and maybe add a new game plus mode?

It was the aspect ratio / camera distance combo that really sunk my enjoyment playing this game. Honestly if they patched those two things and added it to the PS Collection, I think a lot of people would discover it who had previously written it off and enjoy it quite a bit. People are stupid saying this game is bad it might short but at least better than most open world game
Coolblaster35 yeah
Yeah!! So many open world games are so boring....
Are you serious?
Riiiiiight the 5 minutes of gameplay is better than 20+ hours of gameplay.
feyzal92
Rather play that than 20+ hours of repetitive bullshits
Your comments about some determining the value of games simply because they are longer than others was spot on! Keep up the great work!
Really good video bro. I would like to see sequel for this.
Please do a video on last of us 2
Abhishek Pandey What else would he talk about that he already hasn't
Julian Harrison I mean a video on how naughty dog are attempting the impossible and how they can achieve it.
Abhishek Pandey not much news about the game e3 2018 is your best bet for information.
Abhishek Pandey What would be the impossible lol. There isn't an "impossible" with this game. Just improvements
Julian Harrison by impossible I am attempting to make a even better game than the part 1
Witcher 3 is damning to the order 1886......Because no video game exist in a vacuum and the witcher 3 shows you can give gamers a good story and far more then 6 hours worth of content..with side quest that's more compelling then the order....the order was a glorified tech demo theres to show visuals with some gameplay elements tacked on..
Anthony .the point of the comparison is the order obviously sacrifice game play for visuals and story and the Witcher 3..which is on the same console had far more story content, game play and a far deeper story....so if they where really trying they could've made a better game that looks that good ...
.the fact the order is a shooter and not open world game isn't an issue. ..in fact it works against the order. .as open world games take longer to make and require more of nearly every thing...so they order shouldn't be lacking in content.....yes the Witcher 3 had books to draw from and 2 games to build off...
How much media did the order have to draw from??..countless ...warewolves vampires. .there countless things written out there for them to draw from..and they did.....to act like the order is original is silly..warewolves aren't original. .calling them lycans isn't original. ....the order isn't original there's some original elements but not much
And not having games to build of is both a pro and con....CDPR had to make games tie together. .which is more work..
...the fact is the order is a mess...it's a glorified tech demo that was hyped up too much.....and they delivered .nd tech demo when games wanted a game...
I didn't like The Witcher.. pretty long and boring story, the gameplay is broken and glitchy..I played about 15 hours of the game and tried to convince my self it's a good game but I couldn't continue..
Monster S to each his own..but the vast majority of gamers would say objectively the Witcher 3 is a far better game. ..but if we all liked everything the same it would suck
The Witcher is a totally different genre to The Order.
@@redwaldcuthberting7195 In terms of genre yes, but in gameplay, design, story, voice acting, content - The Order and Witcher 3 are very comparable.
Love these in-depth videos.
Loving the videos Robin :)
I really liked 1886, it was over hyped as per most AAA, but flaws n all I enjoyed my 10 + hours to platinum, good story fine gameplay, sweet visuals, didn't like the end cuz I was lovin it so much great vid pal
To be honestly with you, it completely stupid to criticism the game being short. I know somebody is gonna say we had to pay full price for it, well guess what? Old school games were full priced back in the day as well, especially on Old Nintendo Consoles such as the NES and SNES. Incase for this game, it really needs a sequel.
old school games had way more limited space than modern games do, not to mention that Final Fantasy on NES is longer than the order.
The Order was too long, if anything.
RonyH7 you still had to pay full price!
sure, what's wrong with paying full price for a game longer than the order?
RonyH7 so you rather want quantity over quality?
*_I hope we'll eventually get a sequel. I loved the story in this. And congrats on the subscriber milestone :D_*
