"What if you yourself were the thing that got in the way of your very own goals?" Didn't expect a deep cut not even a whole minute into the video. Simultaneously feeling called out and relatable to this army.
The thing that I like most about all the aelves in AoS is that each one is a metaphor for recovering from/coping with trauma in a different, dysfunctional way. Idoneth dissociate and isolate. The Daughters of Khaine embrace the parts of themselves that they consider monstrous because of what they went through with Slaanesh, why being very hostile towards anyone offering help. And the Lumineth become addicts, hit rock bottom, and half-heartedly try to rebuild by discovering spirituality.
I wonder if Sigmar knew about the capturing and harvesting of Slaanesh? I mean he must've known something was up when the Aelf gods couldn't find any Aelves, and the suddenly their realms were just covered with them lol.
I would imagine he would have supported it, what with it taking out a chaos good for the foreseeable future. And I f anything Tyrion and Teclis re-creating the Aelves from the soul matter was probably an inspiration for the stormcast when Sigmar decided to try it much later on.
I believe Sigmar definitely knew and didn't seem to really care. Sigmar allies with the other Gods of the Mortal Realms out of necessity more than anything...and he's a bit of a "xenophobe" and Human supremacist like the Emperor from 40k lol. Just look at the Stormcast, even Aelf and Duardin souls are re-forged into Human bodies.
@@ImperialLegionTV Sigmar is not a "xenophobe" or Human supremacist, in fact, he is anti-racist. and we don't have any lore on Aelf and Duardin souls be reforged.
Great, was really looking forward to this week. I really like what they did with the Lumineth, using the Warhammer Elf/Eldar lore (and pretty much most other elf fantasy) as the starting point, not the end, giving it a more positive, optimistic note, as you say. And all the new elements (pun?) to their culture that GW gave them are really interesting, but don’t make the Lumineth totally different from the HE. I think their fluff brings something new to the setting, which is not only interesting for Lumineth fanboys like myself.
I kinda like that about Age of Sigmar in general. The shit has already hit the fan, bad things have happened and now we're starting to see everyone pick up the pieces and fight back.
Just discovered your channel through a search for Lumineth lore and saw this mentioned in Reddit. First video so far...I love the delivery and way you share the lore. Can't believe there are so few views here given the quality and niche of this stuff. Thank you!!
I always enjoy how relevant such stories are to our own history or human nature. As always great presentation. You are the one before there was ever a one! KV
I've been looking forward to and dreading this video lol. The first part because I love your content and approach. The second part because you always get me excited for armies you talk about even if I never really cared for them in the past (ie Nurgle) and a already like the sounds of this army, but said I'd hold out until Tyrion's half appear, or the wood elves proxy appears
Am I the only person super annoyed and tired of this narrative for Elves? "Yet again, elves are INHERENTLY assholes and get punished for it..." why do they ALWAYS have to be arrogant and vain? Why is this the only narrative we ever get for them???
I totally agree the high elves don't have to be this all arrogant selfish race. They are suppose to be a race of highly enlightened beings. Who are in Constant contact with the divine. It's stupid how we got write them off as similar to how we humans are. It's anthropological appearance.. I love the high elves. The pinnical of life.
Best faction in AoS I have a question are all the gods of AOS equals for the most part? Like Teclis and Tyrion if they decided that they had beef with Sigmar could they make him worried?
Do we think that the Absentee moment from Teclis (leaving him unable to mitigate the Spire Fall) is the reason for a lack of generic heroes in the Battletome? Perhaps nobody outside of a strict group of tested individuals is seen as restrained enough to lead without those prideful outbursts?
@@InquisitorThomas there is the generic Stone Mage and then the Veiled Lady whose elf name escapes me. There is also a non-named version of the Cow Giant but the classic Lord, Prince, or similar generic figures are MIA for now. When the Cities of Sigmar was announced I assumed the old High Elf modles would be included within this army and they weren't. When the Lumineth were hinted at I guess they would be apart of them and when shown the modles they weren't. I even looked back and saw that Eldritch Councel nor any Old High elf units had no Battletrait nor Battalions apart from the first few ORDER books. When the Lumineth were shown to be lead by Teclis the most imidiate thought was who follow Tyrion then? From what you just described it sound like the Aelf who follow Tyrion or any who were on the outskirts of the realm could be the Eldritch Council as well as the Old modles. We all have no idea what Warhammer is planning with them if anything at all. But it would be cool to see both the old Highelfs and Lumineth together, battle hardened warriors with magical ones. Kinda like the Orruk Warclans you could have the 2 different armys with their own battletraits,sub-factions and artifacts but then a Huge Sub-faction of both Teclis and Tyrion working together on a common enemy. It would be a shame if they ignored them completly.

Doug, this isn’t a hypothetical question.

My, yes. Please continue.

Tyrion and Teclis: Why are there so little Aevlen souls and why do the remaining hate us?
