The stories are good and so is Shatner's acting. A few outdated mindsets, especially with regard to women, but that goes along with the cigarette commercials!
very special this cast ,the writers, and the title,, in my life it seems to be so real and integrity was important,, wish they made more ,, i stopped watching tv back in the 70s, as it just got worse and worse. thank you again, ruby,,!
This series never stood a chance ...they cast it opposite Bonanza Sunday night :) Sunday night my family all sat down and watched Bonanza :) Plus the fact we only got 2 or 3 tv stations back then :) i am loving this series :) Thank u....i was a trekkie when it was not cool :) RIP...Jessica Walters was so beautiful :)
I love the concept of using a law from the penal code and illustrating it with a dramatic story -- and using that specific quote from the code in the opening credits of the individual episodes. That couldn't be done today because few would understand what it is saying.
Another great guest star performance. Paul Hartman's levels of inebriation change subtly as he sobers up from being imprisoned, yet he still portrays a guy whose brain is permanently addled from long term alcohol abuse.
Ruby pearl thank you for uploading your great I really enjoy appreciate, the William Shatner videos I never knew this one was out there really enjoying for the people, all the best to you x
This was ahead of its time and certainly was a harbinger of what Shatner would go on to do and be (= basically a legend). As a side note, Mrs. Bluth certainly looked hot back then!
It's curious to me that William Shatner is not known for his outstanding performance in this highly-realistic series, but instead he's known for that other show that scores an F- on plausibility.
My new binge watch.
Mine too!
mine too.
Me too.

Paul Hartman outplayed everyone and walks away with the first prize. Spontaneous performance .❤Enjoyed and thanks from India for sharing

Same.
This is such a great show.
This is so much better than 90% of the crap that’s on TV today.
So true!
A terrific performance by Paul Hartman.

This was 10 times better than Bonanza.
Be nice.............:))))
What a nice story 💐
Jessica Walter!!!
thank you , ruby,, cheers from italy,!! do you have all 13 episodes,,,or should i look for the others,,,,
These are the only episodes I've found that one can copy. The UCLA Film Archives have all the episodes for viewing only.

Hey, it's Pentangeli - before Michael Corleone had him done in
The whole point of arraignment is to plead guilty or not guilty!

29:53 combover hall of fame😳
No doubt Dick Wolf watched this as a younger man
I see where Law and Order got the format.
Is this a kinescope?
I was going to say Hill Street Blues. This show is a decade and a half ahead of its time.

The cop show formula goes back to radio.
My favorite was Homicide: Life on the Street
This has been a FILM presentation.
35 millimeter celluoid, 24 frames per second.
Just like The Defenders, from the same producers.
Denial of a right to trial by a jury of your peers. Unconstitutional reality of today's legal system. But, what can be done??
