One of the greatest scenes in Disney history. The Mad Hatter and March Hare are hilarious characters, and Alice is such a delightfully adorable protagonist.
I don't know I laugh so much at this scene, when the Mad Hatter puts his elbow in that cup and the March Hare tries to explain what an UnBirthday is. It's hilarious xx
@@marvinthemaniac7698 I do so hope they have that one in the library system. Went to Euro Disney in 94, they had a whole section dedicated to Alice. Me and my little brother got our picture taken with our heads in the cards painting the roses. Got to go to Japan in 97, Tokyo Disney. Kyoto is the most special place in the World. Thank you so much for your correspondence. This is the most back and forth I've got from you tube in about 3 or 4 years! Much abliged.
Ah, Alice in Wonderland. This movie was on so many drugs, and was so trippy, but also gave us a reason to celebrate the Unbirthday, which is every day that isn't your birthday. Classic Disney.
To be exact: Alice in Wonderland is not from Disney. This movie (allthough a classic) is merely an interpretation of the book "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" by Lewis Carrol (real name: Charles Lutwidge Dodgson) which he wrote in 1865.
I love Alice in Wonderland. At one time I had watched the film so much that I literally knew every word of the film and could recite it from memory. One of Disney's true masterpieces!
I can't explain how many times I've seen this. I go around and singing this all day. My friends thinks I'm insane! I don't care it is a very merry unbirthday to them.
I've been surprising my wife and children with unbirthday gifts for decades. I used to sing this song to them before giving them their surprise. Nowadays I play the shortened version on my cell phone (there's a 23 second edit here on YT). My wife and kids' response? They always say, "I _love_ unbirthday presents!"
The concept is actually in genius. It's a roundabout way of saying celebrate every day like it's your birthday because it may be your last birthday or unbirthday. It's a roundabout way of saying live life to the full list every day. It's a great message for kids and adults alike.
I didn't even think it was Johnny Depp's fault, but rather trying to cater to modern audiences, especially with the breakdancing scene....that was really necessary...
~IDK why but anytime the Mad Hatter appears on any Alice in Wonderland movie whether it be Disney or Johnny Depp*?* I instantly love him and his tea parties. Now is it because I am British or is it just a weird thing? I must be as mad as a bucking Hatter meself!~
Shhhhhh it don't matter You've had too much tea. You're very drunk and now you need to sleep it off. Come on now. I take you to bed and tuk u in. Yes I know I know twinkle twinkle goes the bat bedtime now
That's surprising how similar they look, And on that note, did you know that 80% of the male cast in Disney's Robin Hood is also the 80% of the male cast in Disney's Jungle Book?
Not only in voice acting, but like literal animations in style too. Heck, Baloo and Kaa from Jungle Book are practically Copypasted as new characters in Robin Hood. But yeah, Disney loved using the same cast of people and same animators for awhile.
My most favourite Disney film of all times !!! I still remember when I first saw it : my mom took me to the cinema in Guarujá... I was about 7 or 8 yrs old then. I was very impressed and became fascinated by it. I love it !!!
This scene was mostly unscripted, they just put the voice actors on a soundstage with a bunch of props and told them they should talk about "unbirthdays" all the actual lines were improv
You guys ever think about how the Mad Hatter had to hand sew three matching top hats and just sort of wears them like Russian nesting dolls for your head?
I grew up hearing another version of this song on a Disney Family Reunion vinyl record. The version of "I'm Late" on said record also was very different from the film. The record also had 2 songs each from 5 other Disney films: Snow White, Pinocchio, Lady & the Tramp, Robin Hood, & Peter Pan.
+Dilbert Doe Everybody has an unbirthday. You can make it happen any of the 364 days of the year (365 when there's a leap year), excluding your actual birthday.
Awwwww ! my Dad used to sing this to me when I was a little girl, he'd sing it on his birthday which is one day before mine. Once he gave me a beautiful black ceramic tea pot.
Lewis Carrol actually wrote it for a friend's daughter, the real life Alice Liddel. It was never intended to be published, until the friend convinced him he should. It was just a silly story for a little girl. Fun fact; real life Alice was not blonde, as popularised by Disney; she actually looked more like the protagonist from American Mcgee's Alice with dark hair.
LordofFullmetal I'm terribly sorry my good Sir, I meant no disrespect. I was attempting to tip my hat to you by adding your factoid to my trivia binder.
I'm like five months late but I just wanted to state that this song was actually not in the original book, I actually don't remember this entire scene being in the book (I read it quite awhile ago so I could be wrong about the whole scene, but the song is most definitely not in it.) I would argue the book is actually a lot weirder than Disney's version. Just some tips. :>
I remember that a few days after I saw the movie for the first time, I pretended that my dinner was my own personal unbirthday party, LOL I remember it like it was yesterday! Spilled the milk on the floor trying to drink it like tea the way these 2 guys did but then had to clean it up... Thank god the intertubes give us such wonderful memories to relive again!
I’m so glad you took the time to upload this and the post that shows up when you send this to others is appreciated. Have a very merry unbirthday to you
3:06 I love this shot so much. You can really see the sense of wonder on Alice’s face. She seems to be thinking, “Maybe Wonderland isn’t so bad after all.” Unfortunately, she decides to leave Wonderland shortly after this scene.
thx man ppl actually look at me like that but thx for the encouragement. why can't an adult be both responsible and yet have some tincturs of being childlike
These guys must be really depressed during their actual birthdays...
AmatMiguel LOLOL
what do you mean :D they're gonna do Birthday Party on birthday xD
and another 364 days of Unbirthday Party xD
Oh, no. Quite the contrary. They celebrate every day
HAHHAHAHHAHA
This video was uploaded on my unbirthday. I feel special.
Oh my Gordon! It was also my unbirthday!
It was also mine! fancy that!
Oh my!!!! Mine too!!! My goodness. What a small world this is. Happy unbirthday.

It always bothered me that she never got to drink the tea.
Esteban Gonzalez ...yes...
It bothered her, also. Have a cup of tea, indeed!
Esteban Gonzalez well belle never got to eat.
But she wasnt invited
It's Wonderland, where the hell is Starbucks?
Disney's best work, in my opinion.
Oh I agree
Daniil Lytovchenko Completely agreed
Hilarious but true
Definitely one of my favorite movies ever I adore to pieces
Daniil Lytovchenko YES!!!!my top 5 and in history.

The door mouse's super drunk poem at the end. So good lol.
Maries Notes SAMS XD
Alice's voice actress is the only surviving cast member of this movie.

this song is for the leap year babies
No for everyone
Haven't seen this movie in years, but this song decided to pop into my head today and I'm so glad it did. Happy UnBirthday to Everybody!
What the hell is in that tea? they tripping off of it, even the mouse drunk, notice how they didn't let Alice drink any lmao!
Mercury, most likely. He is a hatter, after all.
Lsd is in the sugar cubes. At that time.
The sugar cubes aren't sugar. It's cocaine.
Kermit Sweet Tea You’re both wrong. The cane cutters padded sugar out with arsenic in those days, which is poisonous.
10/6 on his hat is mercury.
That mouse sounds drunk as anything. O_O
He is drunk
William Damanka Jr. cuz he had to much caffeine.
No heroin
That's a dormouse, in Wonderland dormice are often weary and tired
Then are they having... an unbirthday parTEA?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
ditto .
omg 😂

Yep, :)

"No room! No room!" :)
"But I thought there was plenty of room!"
"Ahh, but it's very rude to sit down without being invited!"

I'll say it's rude. It's very very rude indeed.
The teapot song plays all year round at Disneyland.
But... what if it's my Birthday?
What if you go on your birthday
This song is how I learned how many days there are in the year!
It's my unbirthday

I'm gonna spend my money
It's my unbirthday
It's my unbirthday
I'm gonna live my fantasy

Unbirthdays are way better than birthdays! This was posted on my unbirthday, and also the unanniversary of this beautiful movie.
Mustard?! Don't be silly!
I love the idea behind the in-birthday; even when it's not your birthday, you're still special and every day you're alive should be celebrated.
I'll listen to it just one more time..........
The best part of a great Disney movie!! "Well, then, today is my unbirthday, too!!"

i'm a grown man but i just love this song. dat doesn't make me too childish?
Hary Sinclair Everybody will probably call you a man-child, unfit for the "real" world. But nevermind them. They don't know what an unbirthday is.
thx man ppl actually look at me like that but thx for the encouragement. why can't an adult be both responsible and yet have some tincturs of being childlike
Pfft, No one ever truly grows up.
We only get more experience and responsibilities the longer we live for, age has nothing to do with it.
Yeah, hahah
Merry unbirthday to you all! :)
To quote something I heard once: growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional.
So yesterday it was my birthday... but n ow i can listen to the unbirthday song over and over again! Hurrah for unbirthdays!
Love the deep meaning In this scene.
