Back at the vise!
Blue collar popper right there, nice.
This fly works! Smallies and blacks love it. I call it a “spitter” since it spits water in front instead of a typical push of water. All I’ve been throwing lately.
Great fly, Alvin. Thank you for sharing. I will be tying a few of these to try here in Southeast Michigan.
Good-looking fly!👍🏼👏🏼
Thanks 👍
Looks like a cross between a crease fly and your dedeux popper. So it has to work! Your popper caught me many smallmouth, cheers
Thanks!
Hi Alvin, I just saw the new Ford Ranger commercial and think you were in it.
That was me!
Nicely done 😉
Thanks 😁
I see another Guide Fly in my box for large and small mouths... great videos
Enjoy!
Quick, easy, effective the 3 things which make a good fly.
I like it , haven’t tied poppers like this but am going to and see how they work swinging them . Thanks for the tip.
Looks like a stretch Dedeaux Popper. I like it and will be tying a few.
So much fun with foam!
I wonder if instead of the first wrap of foam you could use a foam cylinder…says the guy who accidentally ordered a bunch of foam cylinders recently 😅
That would work.
Well tied and demonstrated Alvin. God Bless and Tight Lines, Anthony Hipps
Thank you!
Awesome video! Ever thought about coming to Idaho for fly fishing for cutthroat?
Man I just got into bass fishing with my fly rod and your videos have helped a lot.. been a trout guy for years just never got the bass bug till now!
Love your guide fly series!
Glad you like them!
Enjoyed hearing how you come up with a new pattern! Another Guide Fly is always good in my book!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Going with a Ron Dong Crease Fly. First thought was that it could be a Yusaku Crease tied by Dron Lee. BTW the Yusaku is on the other end of your spectrum.
Glad to see you tyeing. I hadn't seen you in awhile. Last video I seen, tells me your still in Texas?
Yes I am!
Way cool man!
hank you.
Awesome.
Glad you think so!
Love it Alvin! How do you decide when to fish this vs the Dedeaux Popper vs the Dedeaux snake vs the unnamed frog vs the fat baby? Would also love to see a part two of these where you fish the fly and show how it performs!
by the way, hot glue also works well if you use it carefully
Another great video.
Thanks for watching!
I have a fly I got from a friend that looks very similar to that first one,Looks like a cross between a bait fish and a frog with a little flash tail. Tight lines Alvin!
Thanks Andy.
It’s looks like a variation of Joe Blados crease fly however I don’t recall the define lip if that helps
Great video
Thank you for watching!
Looking forward to tying a few up for bass
I recently tied miyawaki poppers they are explosive. I'm interested to see if they work where you are at. More of a slider instead of a popper. Check it out sometine!!! Love this recipe you did for poppers!!
Awesome fly will be tying some up! Do you fish it on a floating line?
Yes floating line.
Best alvin
anks!
You ever figure out what that original fly was called? I just lost my last one this past week, can’t even find a picture of one. I guess we’ll be tying out own from now on!
I did not 😢
So what kind of fish have you caught on this and will it be good for salt water as well?
So far largemouth bass, Guadalupe bass, white bass, stripers and redfish. Yes it works in the salt.
@@AlvinDedeauxFlyFishing thanks! Really enjoy your videos ✌️
Question for you, I noticed you had the thread wrapped around the arm of the bobbin. Do you do this just for storage or do you tie your flies with it that way, and if so does it add better thread control or is there another reason? I'm a novice tyer looking for ways to improve.
It adds a little tension to the thread.
