This fly works! Smallies and blacks love it. I call it a “spitter” since it spits water in front instead of a typical push of water. All I’ve been throwing lately.

Great fly, Alvin. Thank you for sharing. I will be tying a few of these to try here in Southeast Michigan.

Looks like a cross between a crease fly and your dedeux popper. So it has to work! Your popper caught me many smallmouth, cheers

I wonder if instead of the first wrap of foam you could use a foam cylinder…says the guy who accidentally ordered a bunch of foam cylinders recently 😅

Going with a Ron Dong Crease Fly. First thought was that it could be a Yusaku Crease tied by Dron Lee. BTW the Yusaku is on the other end of your spectrum.

Love it Alvin! How do you decide when to fish this vs the Dedeaux Popper vs the Dedeaux snake vs the unnamed frog vs the fat baby? Would also love to see a part two of these where you fish the fly and show how it performs!

I have a fly I got from a friend that looks very similar to that first one,Looks like a cross between a bait fish and a frog with a little flash tail. Tight lines Alvin!

I recently tied miyawaki poppers they are explosive. I'm interested to see if they work where you are at. More of a slider instead of a popper. Check it out sometine!!! Love this recipe you did for poppers!!

You ever figure out what that original fly was called? I just lost my last one this past week, can’t even find a picture of one. I guess we’ll be tying out own from now on!

So what kind of fish have you caught on this and will it be good for salt water as well?

Question for you, I noticed you had the thread wrapped around the arm of the bobbin. Do you do this just for storage or do you tie your flies with it that way, and if so does it add better thread control or is there another reason? I'm a novice tyer looking for ways to improve.
