The folded foam top, rabbit strip legs, and rattling googly eyes are simply brilliant. I'd call it Rattlin' Ribbit! Alvin has been added to my list of cultural treasures, usually reserved for musicians, artists, and writers.
One of the great things about your videos and advice is that you don’t complicate things and you give options. Demystifying it all. Like this frog pattern. It’s hilarious because you could get all the materials to make one at a dollar store. Back in the day, they used to call a guy all dude’d up in cowboy clothes who was fake and obviously didn’t actually cowboy, a “dime store cowboy”. So that’s what I’m going to call it a Dime Store Cowboy 🤠 cheap and fake and comes from Texas. Lol! Gonna tie one up, googley eyes and all, and slap some water with it this weekend. Thank you, Alvin, for sharing your knowledge and making fly fishing accessible.
Alvins Amphibian. (AA) 🙂. Love it! 👍👍. Lots of frogs croaking on the Pedernales in the evenings. I’ll be chunkin some of these real soon.🎣 Really appreciate you sharing it! We’re having Oktoberfisch Flyfishing Convention here in Fredericksburg on Oct 16/17/18 at Edgewater Springs on the Pedernales. You can find info on Fredericksburg Fly Fishers or Facebook, Lots of events and great fishing! Have great weekend Alvin! God bless
I love all these "quick and dirty" guide flies. Makes tying so much more accessible and productive. I'm just tying because I want to fish, not necessarily to create works of art!
Quick and Dirty Frog, I have enjoyed each and every tye I have watched you tye, I like the quick flies that you don't have to fret over. Just tye it and fish it. Thank you sir.
That looks great. I love using craft foam for topwater flies. i caught 90% of my fish on one pattern from May to late September and that was a green and tan chernobyl ant. I caught my second best bass ever and my best bass on the flyrod on it. Ill be trying out your popper pattern for sure when the ice melts here in Wisconsin.
I would like to see a video of you throwing frog flies. What kind of cover you can pull fish out of and how extreme can you get with a frog fly. Better have that strip set down!
@@AlvinDedeauxFlyFishing I'd love to see a video about your time in Bad Mutha Goose and the transition from punk rock to fly fishing! You mentioned in one video about being on the road in a punk band, and I had to do some digging around to find out about your band. I bet you've got some great stories from back then!
Thanks for the pattern ! Yummy! How about the "Cajun Drive-thru Slider"? That name could also be the category for any guide fly patterns with frog legs, LOL!
By the way, I'd like to know your opinion on why I get jumps from smallmouth but not largemouth, fishing 'em from the banks toward center of the river? 'Might be a question of depth. My spot is quite shallow. 15" Canadian largemouths might be lazier, I don't know, lol!
Alvin I enjoy your fly tying videos very much....I've just started tying my own....I fish for bass at local over fished lakes here in Los Angeles....I just tried tying your frog fly but when I tested it it would not stay upright...I tied it on a streamer hook any suggestions
Hi Alvin, what I did was tie my version of the frog fly shorter.....closer to the hook shank with a slight angle to the head....I fished it today....no fish but dove and popped on retrieve....looked really good.....this action seems to work best for me on the urban lakes here in L.A...... Thanks for your response.....Juan
Help me name this fly!
Frogstomp, in memory of the band Silverchair.
FAT FROGGY FRANK!
Fresh water surfing frog lol
Bad mutha frog

Hip Hopper Frog
I know I am late to the party but just listening to the way Alvin described the action of this fly. I would call it the "Sliding Commotion".
Alvin the frog, brother 🙏

So the double A?
Quick and easy, I like it!
Thanks, good luck with it!
The Howler Hopper
The flip frogger. Like the flip flop popper. If you changed the colors and had a zonker tail instead of legs it would be an AWESOME mouse fly
Oh man I'm gonna try that.
I love all your tying videos, late to the game but I'd call this pattern the " Ribbit Rabbit "

So many people asking about those bobbins. I couldn't remember who made them, thanks.
Maybe Alvin's Amphibian?

Alvin’s Rattler Frog
How about the Texas Rattle Frog or The Texas Two Step because it slides and pops.
The “A D TOAD!”
Kermit! Frogger! The Frog from Hell!
Just found you Alvin! New old timer subscribing!!
Since the parts are pretty big (almost over the top) like Howler Bro’s designs, I’d call it Dedeaux’s Howler Hopper.
Supercool!
I’m not good with creating names but I bet those fur legs looks juicy in the water!
Outstanding!
Glad you like it!
Dat Kerm-Deaux
Awesome fly! Name it the Dedeaux frog and are these available to buy like the dedeaux popper?

The Cajun Kermit
KERMIT fly Alvin. Same color as old Kermit.
Dedeaux Fuzzy Frog 🤠
Green boy
Love the tying vids!!! “Boom Bull” for its attention grabbing splat.
Bunny Croaker?
DeDeaux Bullhog
Good one!
The Slippy Slider. For all the Starfox kids out there. Or if you want to appease the older folks, M̶i̶c̶h̶i̶g̶a̶n̶ Texas J. Frog
I’m sure you have a name by now Alvin, but what about the French Frog b/c of the furry legs?
I think it's a kicker frog
La Rana!
Since it’s a slider, how about home plate 🤣🤣
The Googly Gurgler
“Crazy eyes frog”
the Dedeadaux agrivatetor.
How about the JUMP STARTER!!!
I would go with Mr.Toad or frog the bounty hunter.
Those furry legs are reminiscent of the furry chaps seen on some cowboy characters.... Or Wilfred Brimley's mustache.
Texan Tiny Dancer or The Battletoad lol. Awesome fly yet again Alvin thanks so much. Bass season has been crazy here this year. :D
Frio Frog! After one of my favorite rivers in Texas.

bajo muerto or d-dog frog

It seems to me it would be easier still if you reversed the foam tie in. Like a master splinter mouse
I thought of another one. Old Gregg!
The googly grenouille!
