Cyberpunk 2077 isn't bad because of the bugs...

- It is weirdly cathartic for a disaster to happen on this level. But the Devs still suffered and the execs still earned a fortune. Well at least, I theorize, peoples opinions are shifting on Triple AAA Sandboxes.

I'm so tired of people pretending like this game was bad because of the bugs and it's "fixed" now. So suddenly it's a great game.
Feel the same aswell, it's not bad because of bugs it's bad because it's freaking bad inside the bones even with all the newest updates it's unfixable unless they make a brand new one.
A clever user can always see through this kind of PR damage control marketing bullshit.
I did remember when I first got my FO3 or Witcher 3 at launch, buggy as hell but hey, I enjoy every second in it even taking dayoff/sickleaves like nothing lol.
But this shit, nah.
@@shiocchi9740 Exactly. It is a boring poorly designed GTA "cyberpunk" clone. They even get cyberpunk elements wrong. Cyberpunk isn't just neon signs and people wearing wrap around shades.
also the glitches are still there :/
And the anime, and now all of a sudden the game is amazing, gamers are the dumbest fucking people and deserve the game industry.
I tried playing it again last December and hoped I could finish it.
I can't, I only just met Panam cause the story is so stale and the gameplay is so dull.
This is exactly how I tailored my review for the game on Steam. From day-one, I saw no glitches, but I played a boring game. It gives no agency to the player.
It's annoying how people pretended it was bad because of the bugs. The bugs just hid the fact that the game is just poorly made down to the bones.
yup cyberpunk 2077 to this day is mediocre at best, and no the story is not good
Yea exactly lmao.
And for how many times people said the bugs are "gone" I still encounter some.
But like you said, even without it, the game is still piss bad.
Story is incredibly dull and boring (subjective), gameplay is incredibly stiff and uninspiring, graphics are ugly (again, subjective, since I'm on PS4 still), Night City and it's NPCs are lifeless.
People wanna shit on Red Dead Redemption 2 for the gameplay being clunky and boring when it's gunplay is more satisfying af and Arthur feels more fluid and agile than the cybernetically enhanced people in Cyberpunk. 😂
I'm legit only tolerating this game still cuz of Blade Runner vibes and I have a soft spot for Cyberpunk stuff.
the game isn’t THAT bad, have you played starfield?
@@user-jh1jt9lo7i I dont need to starve to death to know i dont like being hungry
You articulated exactly what I’ve been feeling about cyberpunk from the start, the whole thing has always felt shallow and rushed despite being in development so long.
**** CDPR
@Jéster true and the poor development team had to crunch and I'm sure that wore down their mental and physical ability so hard
The story was shitty. Clearly they've remade it around Keanus "star power" which ended up killing the story. There's no roleplaying and game actively disregards your choices. Endings are fucking insulting because no matter what you do you end up dead. Also I found it funny that game berated me for choosing the Arasaka ending I pursued because I thought it was the best way to save V. The biggest one for the last. You're a passive protagonist. You just react to things happening around and get ordered around by peole. V seems to want to be a big time gangster even though you might not want this. Never in this fucking game you make impactfull decision. Apart from the ending where you choose to kill yourself and not be anyone's pawn which was the only moment where you're truly in control. Imagine that only decision where you're in control is when you decide to kill yourself.
I certainly don't mind having a protagonist that is a character rather than a player insert, but they aren't all that great. Putting Keanu in the game was a mistake, bless Keanu, but I don't need recognisable celebrities faces in games where you can just create a memorable character. This game is corporately made completely.
The moment Keanu came on stage that one year my hype the game died.
@@OrangeJuiceJaz Exactly. V isn't even a character of their own. It's some weird chimera made out of a protagonist that CDPR already has experience with - one with their own motivations but whose reasoning you can tailor to your liking, and a tabula rasa type of protag you can freely customize. The first kind has to be written really well to work and V is anything but that, in fact his character is THE Cyberpunk player ("I want to be a famous Merc" is the most bare-bones motivation tabletop exists for), the second should allow the player to imprint their own ideas onto the protag (which is impossible because V has non-personality and non-motivations). These don't mix well. But on top of it all, judging by mannerisms and voice acting, V seems to be set to Street kid archetype by default.
Somebody didn't play the game... if you choose V you technically don't die and you have 6 months to live in which leads to the dlc that's coming out soon
It’s sad the state of gaming is in nowadays in 2010 if a game like CP 77 was to release they would trash the game and cdpr would be done.
Now 3 years later people are calling the game a masterpiece and hyping up the new expansion coming out 😂 I can’t take modern gamers seriously.
Yeah Cyberpunk was mostly a big wet fart.
An IGN 9/10 reviewed big wet fart :L
No, not “mostly”. It was a big wet fart. And nothing more than that.
The game was made out of pure, unadulterated disappointment.
@@gglreallysucks5512 bit of an exaggeration dude but sure
@@mcglubski no it's not. Why do you feel the need to defend them in any way?
@@gglreallysucks5512 because I enjoyed parts of the game? You can enjoy a game and still be critical of it. My expectations obviously were not as high as yours
Cyberpunk sucks! The story is awful like they did not think about it, all the endings are the same, ALL the side missions are terrible, there are even some that its just characters speaking? Wtf!? the characters have no emotion, the gameplay is boring, there are like 3 weapons in the whole game, the city is the WORST THING about this all, its not interesting and lacks detail, like they copied and pasted all the buildings, The skill tree is horrible and there is no choice.
WORST GAME OF ALL TIME.
I’m certainly forgetting more about it the less I play. I’m still shocked at how rabid the fan base was up until launch. This is definitely why you never judge a game pre launch
You’ve never ever played any fallout game have you, or even massively successful games like Forza, they copy and paste EVERYTHING
I gotta admit the endings and side missions, yes, but everything else, no not really.
Play it on the series x if you can, it’s very decent.
@@isaacsrandomvideos667 i have played fallout 3 and 4, and those games are SO much better with MUCH better gameplay, with MORE customization and have a MUCH better story and MUCH better maps amd exploration and MUCH better crafting and MUCH better characters. Even the bugs are better.
@@isaacsrandomvideos667 I am playing New Vegas at the moment and it is far better than the other games. Yeah pretty much most of these games do it too, it doesn’t excuse them either
OrangeJuiceJaz yeah man.
They are better yes, but cyberpunk is still good. I like how it mixes them all with a bit of gta almost, I wish it was less buggy, yes.
New Vegas is incredible though, the soundtrack, the way that the atmosphere is just clinging on to life, just incredible.
Hitman games are a great example of replayability done right. They might be small and short, but it's amazing that no matter how much I replay each level I'll never get tired of the maps. They also have *tons* of details and interesting npc interactions/dialogue. Other companies should learn from this.
That is true
This game is so bad that it literally chased the CV-19 out of my system. I think we’ve found the cure.
That’s the only bug they got rid of.
(I know it’s a virus but I want the laughsssssss)
@@OrangeJuiceJaz lol
@@OrangeJuiceJaz still trying to play it. Might do a Let’s Play so ppl can see for themselves that even after 1.1, it’s pretty awful.
@@RevanJJ Love that IGN tried to review the patch like they can't just give a AAA studio a bad review
this game sucks. Forget the glitches. Its supposed to be CYBERPUNK. Dark, gritty, cool, like dues ex. This game is GTA with a new skin. almost literally. Silly, over the top, fugly people. its just garbage.
You're not wrong, they barely tried to disguise how much like GTA it is.
The gameplay is like crappier, clunkier GTA or Watchdogs with a deceiving facade of a beautiful cyberpunk world wrapped around it. The game is initially so amazing to look at and walk around in, but the more you play, the more you walk around and look at people and things, the more you shoot, the more you drive, the more empty and clunky everything is revealed to be. It's not a good game. It's not a bad game either. The issue is that what was promised was so far beyond this 2012-esque game that I end up hating it instead of just being like "meh." It's cool to look at but not if you look too deep, and it's not very fun to play.
You're right, the mechanics and gameplay aren't thought out for the world and setting, they have just been put in because of the popularity of GTA, Deus Ex, etc. This makes the game feel very shallow and unmemorable.
Picked up the game from a dude back in December 2020 for 10 dollars, had all of the stickers and maps and shit too, he said it wasn't running too well on his PS4 with the intention of playing it on my PS5 when I was able to get a hold of one.
Fast forward to 2023, decided to finally start the game before the dlc dropped and my god it's such a mediocre game at best. The world is empty, there is literally no reason to pick any starting lifepath other than having different prologues, the side missions are pretty bad, the skill system is unnecessarily convoluted, I'm 15 hours in and I don't wanna play anymore. It seems to me there will never be a single player game as good as GoW Ragnarok at this point. Multiplayer games aren't cutting it for me either, warzone 2 season 3 brought soo many features and it still feels the same.
Putting celebrity’s in video games is the dumbest shi ever, who’s gaf put your time in making a actual good game.
I got this a few days ago. It.. is dull.
I really see people hyped for the expansion of this game 😂😂😂
I started the Phantom Liberty expansion today and uninstalled the game an hour into it. It was that bad.
@@_Paul_N lol
Gta 5 is 10000 times better
because of a graphic bug my game looks like a nintendo64 game so i decided to just play sidemissions until its fixed...and after 50 hours i have to say... the game is horrible! never played such a repetitive game in my life...shooting the same enemies over and over again doing this stupid minigame like 4 times in every mission turning off the stupid cameres over and over again .. i cant believe they came up with this... anyway good video agree 100 %
Thanks mate! Glad you liked it.
There was a reddit post about the development that made loads of sense, like lots of the content was cut a few months before launch, like missions and stuff because of higher ups and investors. Like an underground area, major side missions and stuff in the not populated areas.
Also that they completely reworked the Johnny Silverhand design when Keanu was onboard, even though Keanu was a super nice guy.
V interested as they are going for maybe a no mans sky style relaunch? What a mess
Please, get a refund, get your money back. Money talks. It’s the only way to get back at them after they scammed us all....
the more of us get a refund, the more CDPR hurt. So please try to get your money back :)
Garbage game. This is insult to all real gamers.
And who is the “real gamer”?
What is your definition?
@@mravg79 have you played this?
@@mravg79 go beat this and then come back to me with your frustration.
@@blitzphantom9488 you missed the point. Based on the experience it was a warning light for me that reviews was PC only and with b-roll footage. A week from release when more information surfaced I decided I will buy this game (which I wanted to be good) under one of two conditions bargain bin price or it will be fixed.
There is no frustration here.
The point was that releasing game in this state so it is pulled out of PS4 store should not happened. And yes it offensive to all the customers.
But is has nothing to do with "real gamer", "casual gamer", or if not real that what a "fake gamer". I simply do not agree with the term used by OP. Customers who bought it have every right to feel cheated and disappointed.
@@mravg79 for sure
CP2077 is really a great example of how shallow and generic AAA games have become. It’s more of a testament to the rut the gaming industry has been for the past 10 years.
If you ask me it’s a result of gaming going mainstream. When big corporations are calling the shots and decide what game gets made you inevitably get games designed by committees trying to cater to the widest audience possible so as to garner the highest profits.
Honestly I don’t really see any innovation or out of the box thinking in AAA game design. It’s all rinse and repeat and I don’t even play those yearly games like Call of Duty or Ubisoft games.
If CDPR and CP2077 were meant to be the saviors of gaming then we as gamers are all in for the disappointment as it doesn’t look like it’s going to get better.
Couldn't agree more. Unfortunately Art Cannot be created by 20 People in suits who's main goal is to make the most money possible. So you will get the most Mass Market appeal elements, which used to be GTA sandboxes with Crafting elements.
Shifting now to Battle Royale or Among Us clones now, so I don't foresee any change. Indie Studios and more Auteur game studios are who I rely on for anything interesting to play.
What is worse is that CDPR and their games are some of the "highest Quality" AAA games where there is some sort of care taken on some level. So I shudder to think what Ubi or EA games are like now. I haven't played any of them for years.
They just released patch 1.6, which added the most basic shit possible that games in this genre should have from the get go, and also added some small easter eggs to compliment yhe recent anime from Netflix.
And people are eating this shit up as if 1.6 was gods gift to gaming.
Unbelievable.
Never Preorder a game.
Also YES.
Even if the game would be running PERFECTLY without bugs, it would still be shit
💯🥴
For me it wasn't the bugs (and no alot of those bugs are still in the game today). The problem was the awful writing and plot structure, followed by mediocre gameplay mechanics (game felt like a really bad GTA clone, more then something that supposed to be based off Cyberpunk 2020). You can tell they had made massive changes to the plot multiple times mid to late into development and it ultimately resulted in a incoherent mess. Shoehorning in Keanu late into development just for market appeal also didn't help things.
I remember when the reviews were coming out, everyone lambasted Gamespot for giving it a 7 or something. Ironically, they were the only mainstream review website that showed a little bit of journalistic integrity. Just goes to show, people just want to watch people agree with their pre-conceived biases.
They should of gave it a 4/10
Games have become movies. How hard is it to higher actors, get the motion capture stuff, record it and replay in the "game"? And when you sell it - you sell it got the price of 3-4 movies premier. No one need games, and so no need to fix them.
They mocaped Idris Elba.
They need to hire actual devs and designers to make a good game, instead of wasting money on celebrities that i haven't even heard of lol.
You can't mind control everyone. You promise millions of people something and break that promise, many will be mad, some will get mean about it. You call that toxic then you call kittens toxic for biting, and rain toxic for being wet and not as happy as the sun.
I hate open worlds games as it is just wasting my time on the next level. In RDR2 at least it looks good and interacting + well crafted (yet I don't like the game story and everything about gangsters personally, but I bought it as an example of a masterpiece as I am a game dev). But I just launch those openwork games, waste an hour doing stupid navigation in an attempt to figure out what to and the just leave it. So those games are easily gaining a lot of overall play time, while the percentage of people who have passed the game is 50 at best. The fact that game was bought and even was played even if it is a single player game - today means nothing. On mobile people are getting paid to play crap, but on PC - you are paying for next gen boredom. And you do paying real well. And so! There is no actual practical need to finish development of a game in the first place. Studios know that statistics and just utilities this factor. Gamers are not playing games and so you don't need anything except marketing companies + crap that looks somewhere near to trailer. Maybe later studio will decide that it is time to sell the game second time and will fix few bugs - and people will buy it. Games are dirt cheap for countries that are playing games.
I played it for a few hours before giving up on it. Even after the 2.0 update, the game is a lifeless husk of a game that in every way feels like an early release build
The game is simply astonishingly boring. Even enjoying Witcher 3 it has the same issues.
CD Project games are barely games. They're glorified soap operas where you occasionally fight people before another several hours of talking.
Agree. Uninstalled after playing it 100% and that is after the DLC and final patch. Also hate Witcher 3.
witcher 3 was most garbage, boring gam3 i have ever played but cyberpunk was good. Idk how is this possible ur braincells can find this game boring (maybe it is possible if you already finished game 10 times)
@@Teilerderden I reinstalled Cyberpunk, I was mostly mad because I wish I had more direction over the conversation kind of like New Vegas. The Witcher 3 on the other hand I can't stand. Witcher 2 was okay because it was a much smaller scale, but even then the gameplay was mediocre. I think Witcher 3 is the most overrated game ever made, that and Skyrim, but Skyrim did have good exploration.
@@Particle_Ghost try some mods with cyberpunk. Game is then whole another new game. Witcher 3 in other hand you just cant enjoy this game even with full mods (unless you have less than 3 braincells you migth) Skyrim is prob one of games that i wont bother even trying to play. Prop another overhyped garbage like witcher 3 anyways
@@TeilerderdenI can agree that Cyberpunk isn't great, but the Witcher 3 is a timeless masterpiece that set a new bar for third person RPGs. Also don't say others have a low IQ when you're too dumb to sit down and listen to a good story. Go back to Fortnite or COD if you can't enjoy a good story.
This game to me comes across as if it think it's an awesome and deep games but it's not.
I'm in a lot of fandoms and nothing makes me angrier than the fans. If you actually loved the property you wouldn't make excuses for the mistakes. I'm brutal with my creators. As we should all be. That said, a lot of your observations seem to look past the game just so you can force your world view on it.
Exactly what I'm thinking, and suspiciously low amount of comments disagreeing with him lmaooo
When did he even mention his world view? What are you talking about? What is this comment?
felt the same. Not too many bugs when I played on launch on PC, only 2 major ones were I'd randomly get killed no matter how strong my armadillo mods were when walking on trash piles. I'm assuming it was some type of collision issue but it looked like an explosion would happen. Other were minor problems when I had 2 sidequests bug out, the dude with the glitched cyberware wouldnt get in my car to go to a ripper doc and a reload didn't fix it, he just stood there and died. The other was a fistfight where the dude wouldn't stop trying to fight me and I couldnt complete the quest until I reloaded.
Journalist tier gameplay in the background.
I’m genuinely awful at shooters and games with driving, it will haunt me till I die
@@OrangeJuiceJaz Don't feel bad dude, my best friend gets motion sick playing FPSs. ^^ He can play TPSs fine, thankfully. Hell, while I'm really good at hardcore JRPGs/RPGs with tactical elements (Shin Megami Tensei, Fire Emblem, Etrian Odyssey), I'm *_TERRIBLE_* at RTSs and fighting games. So it evens out, lol.
So don't feel bad man. We all have our blind spots. :D
@@TheAxeLord47911 Thanks man! I must have played thousands of games of all different genres but I am not excellent at many at all! I guess since I didn't have a PC growing up or like an Xbox or Playstation for competitive games I was limited to like Goldeneye or Mario Party!
So long as I have fun is all that matters! I'll never be as good as those who stream and I am fine with that!
Thanks anyway :)
@OrangeJuiceJaz Just curious, what's the best game you have ever played?
Bugs don't really matter, other reason how BAD Cyberpunk 2077 is, missions cannot replay, same story line in every diffrent path, no wing suit no flying vehicles cannot get in top buldings, cannot use weapons for stealth takedown, its all garbage, no jets no helicopter no hover bike with strong guns, bad handling vehicles, no third person, Map is too small, even wilderness is too damn small, This game makes me wanna killmyself, Even Saints Row Reboot is better than Cybertrash 2077 in 2023
Comparing Cyberpunk to John wick is like comparing McDonald's to sushi. John Wick is far more cyber and punk esque then whatever hodge podge of half-baked ideas Cyberpunk 2077 is. Also, if you have to call your whole game "Cyberpunk" it's probably not Cyberpunk.
So it sounds like Skyrim with extra steps
I wish it was like Skyrim, then I could at least ignore the main quest and instead go join some "guild" (read - corporation) to climb up the corporate ladder, do some odd jobs and, in general, play like I play Skyrim - by allowing my character live in the world with tons of locations to explore and unique powers to find. And then it should have had thousands of mods, including the ones adding new lands, totally new quests so they gave would remain playable and new even after 12 years.
I acutely really liked the story of the game
That’s because you’re a fake gamer
Glad all of the haters are being put in their place. Hate is not sustainable, and now that the game is awesome you can't post a positive video without losing all credibility. See you in Night City hahahahaha!
except the game still sucks, your just an npc that follows the crowd

No, the game is still awful and shallow, the glitches were minor problems compared to the substance of the game.
"you can't post a positive video without losing all credibility"
So you admit it sucks and most positive reviews mainly exist to shill, glad we agree
Whats funny is I think this guy is deleting comments disagreeing with his video too, weak.
