The Dev Days Of Summer sale is now on the asset store with someone we know on week three assetstore.unity.com/?on_sale=true&orderBy=1&rows=96&aid=1101liVpX
@@snarf8115 Don't know if I completely get the question. I just have a load of shortcuts on my steam deck for various Unity actions. Need to overhaul it at some point .. my steam deck layout hasn't had much tinkering in a while
@@WarpedImagination Ohh, okay. I thought you were using the asset from the asset store “Stream Deck Integration” (I don’t think I can’t paste links). Thank you for the quick reply. :)
I have been really enjoying the content that git-amend is putting out .. I recommended him a while ago on the game dev show as a good channel to up your skillset. I haven't caught the latest video of his I will have to check it out
omg so handy. Toggling gameobjects on/off should have this by default and even a keyboard shortcut. Just pressing Q or some easy accessible key would be even better. Great tutorial, many thanks! Can you implement a keypress shortcut into this script aswell, would that be simple or more complex?

Cool! I had seen custom stuff for the Inspector but not like this.
Glad you liked it, you'll find lots of editor extensions on this channel
Really useful shortcut! There is also a hotkey combination for activating/deactivating gameobjects: Alt + Shift + A (on Windows)
I find this shortcut much easier to use than any visible toggle
I am a big fan of the shortcut as well .. wired it into the stream deck Unity profile.
Thanks for bringing it up
@@WarpedImaginationAre you by chance using the asset to integrate the Stream Deck with Unity?

I'm using unity for years and I never had the idea or will to upgrade the different standard windows.
You just unlocked a new option in my head!
Glad you liked it .. plenty more tweaks to the standard windows coming up
FANCY!
Another Unity YT channel, git-amend, mentioned you in their last video. You guys should make a collab or something

Glad you liked the video .. the default shortcut is Alt + Shift + A to toggle on and off game objects
@@WarpedImagination oh it is, damn I missed that one. Thanks for sharing
maybe it should be a free asset on the Asset Store
I would want to round it out a little more with a couple of extra features
Well, I come from a design background where I use ctrl + 2 shortcut for locking objects, so I made it as shortcut for toggling on/off gameobjects.
I use the Alt+Shift+A myself most of the time
"why 27?", because it is the real answer to the universe!!
I believe that's 42
@@WarpedImagination hahahaha you simple 42-er !!!
such a good movie
The basic unity windows like hierarchy and project were improved so little over the years...
The API for them is fairly limited as well .. leading to some less than ideal hacks
This should be included default layout.
Yeah probably an option to be able to turn on
Still watch your videos, even though I didn't touch Unity since....
I have some general gameplay and tools videos planned with a dev log series starting up very soon
@@WarpedImagination ohh looking forward to it now :)
