Young people making real music !!!!
Oh man. Russell Malone treats every song, every chord like it’s an old friend to be taken in a warm embrace. Love the Jimi quote!
I've been a big fan of Mr Malone for a long time. I wish he could share these voicings he uses for jazz guitar with us, lesser mortals.
Russell Malone tears flowing while playing Kenny Burrell's tune is a beautiful display of humanity and gratefulness.
Indeed. Among the *many* satisfactions of this extraordinary session, this one stands out. The only thing I can compare it to on You Tube is Ben Webster's solo on Old Folks.
This was really a very special performance, I really savored the choice of pieces selected and delicate way they were treated. Great job.
Groove level 1000
Live from Emmet's place makes my entire life 10% better
Thank you all for thèse 65 weeks.Having Russel Malone , one of my heroes playing with you in your living room , is a wonderful moment ! Thank you so Much!
Thank you Mr. Malone for being so "real" on Listen To The Dawn, especially.
Russell's playing is so damned pretty.
beautiful man...wow ..love it..thx guys
It is really touching on listen to the dawn. That is the expression of true feelings.
Epic concert! Turned me on to Russell big time. The rest of the cats were just incredible, as usual. Musicians of the highest order.
I'd have to say of all the great "guest" drummers emmets had on past month or two, the chemistry here was remarkable. Russell hall was inspired as well..
Makes sense, Evan and him have been playing since they were in high school
In some part his playing reminds me George Benson in the early 70ies.
The stank faces of approval that musical legends like Russell Malone have been making while you guys play are so satisfying to watch. This is some seriously good stuff that you are doing here. Thank you so much for putting these together!
Dear Emmet. I just love what you guys do. I watched a few of these wonderful performances and I have about 58 more to go.
Please keep up this great format I just love it. My favourite so far is this one with Russell Malone. Very moving when he shed some tears during "Listen to the dawn".
Thanks again. I'm a big fan now.
Wow, so stoked to see Russell Malone, then blown away with my favorite Kenny B tune...awesome show!
oml if emmet keeps playing this damn good imma have to roll up and give his cheek a shmooch
Finally ! Thank you, Russel is one of my favorite player.
I have just been listening again to Russell's 8 min. solo on What is this thing called love. Too much? too long?,
no way, his middle name should be Mr.Swing! Fantastic guitar playing, never running out of ideas. The usual marvellous
backing from Emmet and Co.
Holy S. Emmett, Road Song solo was other worldly.
Great once again ! I already knew Russell Malone but I became his fan only today thanks to this Emmet's place performance.
Gotta love Russell! ❤️
Que excelente reunion! Que melodias ! Felicitaciones!!
Wonderful.
Very very very very very very nice +++++++++++ Thank you all!!!
Always enjoy watching and listening to jazz impresarios... this is maybe my 10th episode in the series. Check in to enjoy every couple of weeks. Thank you, Emmet Cohen, and sponsors!
Great drummer
The guitar master!
1) hoping Kenny B gets to see & hear this rendition of his signature tune
2) Russell homage to Wes' thumb playing
First time I heard of Malone was when we saw D. Krall in Jacksonville. I wont say he stole the show but his contribution was a revelation to many who were there.
russell mallone, just wow!!!! 😍😍
What a treat!
Amazing as usual
My Monday eve treat!
Fabulous set !!!
incredible
Wow!
Какая прелесть это басист. Эммет здорово придумал!
sublime
Yes!
Oh Man this is great!
I would love to know what Mr Malone was saying to Emmet throughout the session...i am guessing these are the unforgettable moments that Emmet will cherish ad infinitum
Misty !!! ......for sure Erroll is smiling from up there !!!
Sweeeeet!
Listen to the dawn, observo la emocion (lagrimas) de RM ..una belleza..!! 46:30 ... que recordara en ese instante...
woohooo... yes
Love the up tempo Misty.
I have some dreams that Pat Metheny, Mike Stern, Larry Carlton and Lee Ritenour playing at your place.
When Malone extends his hand to shake Cohen's (15:25), look at his hand -- long fingers and narrow wrists -- large but very elegant hands. That's where his tasty sound comes from.
🍷
I wonder if two pianos can fit in the room? Benny Green & Emmet.....yikes, can hardly wait.
It's a five story walk-up. Be thankful for ONE always well-tuned Steinway!
👍👍👍
😊 ✨
Can I buy a guitar stand for the place so beautiful guitars don't have to hang dangerously from chairs? - signed, concerned guitarist
Emmett is the new savior let's put him on a Wheaties box
Just love these guys...wait anxiously to be at emmet's place..🎶♥️🎶♥️
...been following emmet cohen's trio from the 1st volume since lockdown last year...they brighten up it all...
Just lllllovvvve this group every Monday n their other concerts around too ♥️♥️♥️
Maybe then he can run for president or we can put them on a rocket ship and send him to Uranus
Guys, outstanding! How did you record the session? I can only see the bass mic… no info in the description 😩😎👍
Where are Mr Carly Pulle?
These sessions are great!! where do you broadcast from?
1:05:30 people talking during the bass solo
Scary Drummer Very "SCARY!!"
Frightening, I tell you…
& a favorite moment was when Evan joined Malone in (what sounded like) a Purple Haze riff…unleashing in an instant.
…one of my favorite drummers in life is John Bonham…(as is for many). As the master of triplets, even Jimi said that he had “a right foot like castanets…” 🤯
Jazz drummers are the *gold standard* & were the source of Bonham’s genius & inspiration -Gene Krupa, Buddy Rich, Max Roach, & Joe Morello, & others 😚💌…priceless. ..-& how I’d love the trio to cover Kashmir.. 🤘🏽
@@Meira_A Steve Gadd - a legend in so many genre(s)
anyone know what the quote is at 18:49?
Hot House!
it's "hot house"
Hot House, Diz
I like it a lot!
can there be a more mellow jazz guitarist than Russell malone ? ...no...
& swings
misty sounds better when it swings
Oh, what a beauty! But I am a bit concerned: Russel doesn't look very healthy (I hope I am wrong!). And a final plea: Let's stop playing "Love for Sale" - it is a song on child prostitution.
