This was debated back when it happened last year.... some of them were stretching a small tire onto a larger wheel..... you can get away with that with limited prep..... can’t with radial prep.... the tire has a lot more forced being applied because it it can’t spin a little or move before damage happens.... top fuel was running the same weekend with a slick and no failures..... but they were not racing with stretched tires. Track was safe... what the racers did with their bikes made their bikes not safe when racing on radial prep..... Title it’s just click bait
The tire carcass is overheating in different areas of the tire. Mainly in the middle and its allowing the tire to release the energy toward the edge of the tires. The tire seems to big for the track asphalt and the tire wants to grip but not release the enertia. Al
10.5 tires on 12 and 13" rims, lightweight frames, tires not designed for the application, blaming the track prep is pointless IMO, they knew what they had and time after time continued to push the limit. Talking to Mark he told me that after last year with the issues he and Jean saw they decided a new tire every single pass was there only option, hence the huge stack in this video next to his trailer, not exactly a cost effective option. Over prepped for the handful of bikes....absolutely...tune for it just like the other big classes have to tune for an under prepped track for their operations. I know after last year MANCUP didnt want that crazy prep again. Some scary passes for sure, we all hate to see it!
Seems to me the tire is not growing as it should, I would start with adding more tire pressure to assure it stays in the patch. On 1 pass I could see straight thru the center of the tire ?

I hate to say this Jack but I think we may be at a point where many these top classes will have to go 1/8mile just for safety reasons. I hate to see it but i also worry like hell thrm hitting low to mid 200's with virtually no protection

Now.... it is true that the big slicks and big power like a little wheel speed.... but again... top fuel was fine.... Jack knows his bracket stuff.... not big power stuff as much

Well I think the manufacturer of the tires stamp the maximum speed on them tires and I don't think them tires are made to go as fast as these guys go
