      Actually it could possibly be a manipulation tactic. Some people will admit to smaller, less severe things and then admit to a larger, more severe thing in an attempt to humanize themselves towards others and get less of a punishment.

    I remember in the actual JCS video, someone commented about how they may have choosen to specifically use a female detective as the one to push his emotions because the begining of the video stated that he was popular with women. And this whole murder was because he dated a female coworker, so being emotionally pushed and confronted by a female detective, especially so suddenly, may have added extra pressure since he's used to either women liking him or him normally being the one to manipulate women. I don't know how true it actually is, but it's definitly an interesting thing to think about

    I had to look up his sentencing.
    Lee was charged with second degree murder, gaining a 40 years prison sentence with credit for time served (He agreed to a plea deal). Rodarte had also been charged with evidence tampering and abusing a body, but those charges were dropped as part of his plea agreement.
    His attornery filed a Stand Your Ground claim in 2019 saying it was self defence (bruh). Lee said Savannah attacked him, and when he grabbed her neck in an effort to break her grip, he heard and felt a pop (can't believe he stuck to that story, that ain't how the spine works). Happy endings don't exist in that line of work. you wanna make a difference? Be a social worker. at least then, you get a happy ending. Kids ending up in good homes, people getting off drugs, into therapy, and finding the will to learn how to be a functional part of this hellscape of a society we live in is infinitely happier than dealing with the killers and rapists of society every day of your life.

    • @WasabiKitCat
      @WasabiKitCat 3 роки тому +33

      @@IamDootsdoot It really depends on what part of the process OP wants to make a positive impact on. No matter how good or bad social workers are, someone always slips through the cracks. The question is whether OP wants to be the one to try and prevent disaster, or help clean up a disaster that's already happened (and always will happen). Catching a killer, finding a body/bodies, and giving closure to families who wouldn't have recieved it otherwise can be the closest thing to a "happy ending" some people can get in that kind of situation, and it does still make a difference. Obviously it'd be better if no murders ever happened, but unfortunately they do, and someone has to be there to help the people who've been affected by them and to prevent the murderer from killing anyone else. Those people are still heroes, even if they don't save anyone in the traditional sense. (I'm talking about investigators and stuff btw, not cops. Fuck cops).
      Also, being a social worker is also very emotionally devastating. The system is fucked and you'll have to watch firsthand as it screws over kids who could've had normal lives if they'd been given the proper care.

Go watch the McDaniels interview, those cops’ emotions made them fucking terrible at their job. And again to be clear, I’m not saying the detective here is anywhere close to as bad as them. And the excessively emotional way she got was a facade she put on - I didn’t say she herself internally was emotional - I said she was ACTING emotional. whereas with the detectives grilling McDaniels it seemed a lot more like it was them letting their emotions actually take control of them. But, not only did he admit it, he told them where the body had been (his property), what he did to it, where he finally disposed of it, and all of this was verified and confirmed.
