Oh my goodness! When the old man said, “Leonardo De Capuccino”... that made me laugh out loud 😂
Another great video 👍
I did some urban sketching in Edinburgh last summer 🏴 I loved the interaction with the passers-by.
One woman, who had trained as an artist but had given up as she'd struggled to make a living out of it, was inspired to go home and pick up her brushes after a 20-year hiatus!
That was worth more than any of the money that I made selling my sketches on the day ❤
That's fantastic! There's nothing better than helping others find their inspiration :)
Oh my. The gentleman who used to paint the cathedral with his mum. I really do hope he picked up a pen after this. Melted my heart. Lovely video.
Love this! I’m an urban sketcher and totally agree with the social aspect. 🌼
I love you and your wonderful attitude, while you are doing your work and encouraging others. This is one of the best videos on how to handle people interaction in a positive way, thank you.
Your free flowing watercolor sketches are very calming to see. The technique is quite unique. Thank you for sharing! :-)
I'll keep begging you to release an artbook of your work for us to enjoy your art. Please. (Great video!)
He did. Did you buy it?
@@katsmith8263 Yes!
And I love to talk with the people on the street!
Leonardo DeCarpaccio. I've heard of him. Great artist. Great actor. No good at coffee
I love your Sketches Ian! I'd like to visit your Workshop by artist Travel
next year in Germany Bavaria and Salzburg. You'r my inspiration every day.Great teacher at UA-cam. Tanks.
I enjoyed the video. My experiences are very much like this. I disagree with J.M. Watkins. I don't mind people talking to me while I'm sketching. I've been an Urban Sketcher for 8 years and I've never yet had a negative experience with the public. They are always interested and courteous. Most will first apologize and not want to interrupt me, "but...." Because my media is ink and wash, I usually respond with, "That's OK, I need to wait for the paint to dry" and then we have a nice chat. I use it as an opportunity to proselytize about Urban Sketching and have a supply of cards to give out.
I love to paint but drawing isnt something im good at.
But due to lockdown im having a bash at pen and wash and would love to go outside to do some but terrified of doing it and feel people will laugh at me
Just try. You'll get more and more proud of you. I love to do that! People who are interestet in what you doing are just nice to you 😀
Who wants to be talked to while your making artwork??? Certainly not me…not any other artist I know. Most complain about being bothered by people.
