Great review! The Interactive Series is a great idea from Gemini Jets, and while not executed properly on some models, I still think it’s a good option for collectors to have when they want that creativity in their dioramas. I have the Etihad 777F Interactive and the seams are better on that mould. As time goes on I’m sure the seams will be improved upon so that even when closed it will still look presentable.
Excellent review of this great interactive series model! This model is good, but does have some issues. You may want to try an interactive 777 as I found the tolerances on the parts used for the open doors have been significantly tighter and feel more sturdy, along with door hinge derail also included in the new mould.
Unfortunately, this unit in particular (Not the mould in general, but this one specific model) highlights the main weakness of Gemini Jets, their terrible Quality Control. In this 747, the landing gear is terrible, but they have a lot of issues with other airplanes as well. One of the largest issues in my experience came from T Tails which are more often than not leans sideways and not straight up. There are others like issues with the landing gear or printing (The passenger windows in my bae 146 are too high). It's really unfortunate because they make a large variety of models (Especially regionals, which are my favorite) If you're collecting gemini jets, I suggest checking the unit in person if possible, and if not, ask the seller for pictures. Never trust Gemini's own photos. Happy collecting
I do agree, it is always advisable to check a model in person when ever possible. I do also really like the risk Gemini Jets has taken with this model because its for sure challenging to create such a interactive model but its just a shame that the execution just can't keep up with the ambition.
I have this model myself! It’s a great mold and it looks even better in the KLM livery! ❤
I just bought it! It comes in like a week and I can’t wait! I am going to make a video on it!
