That's a great way to repurpose accessories you don't use anymore! I think if you add some gussets to your bracket design, they will keep from bending longer. Keep those 2nd gen mods flowing!!
Hay Karl what’s up. Iv been working on my Tacoma just got the rear brakes finished. While working on the first one I was wondering how would Karl do this spring. Next is the valve cover gasket’s. Then next will be the timing belt.
Those springs are a bit of a pain. I used locking needle nose pliers to get a good grip on them. Good luck with the rest of the work and thanks for watching!

I did something similar to my 2gen. I used electrical rails from HD and mounted them almost flush with the bed and bolted a rifle case for storage.
