Actually I originally had a mention in my wrap up at the end about Pileggi and his role on the X-Files and Peter Berg going on to be a big director but I forgot that I edited it out to shorten the video a bit. He was great on the X-Files.
This movie was nuts. I remember sitting in the theater wondering what the heck happened in the middle. All of a sudden the movie went in a whole new direction.
I read somewhere that the vfx guy got burned out during production because he was trying to do too much and was having trouble delivering what he had promised Craven.
Keep in mind, this was Craven's attempt at creating a new Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. I actually don't mind this movie and it's become a guilty pleasure of mine. Craven was known for his rubber reality concepts and this one is much fun, despite the earlier days of digital effects that makes the film a little silly at times. Mitch Pillegi is fun in the role of Horace Pinker and that fact alone is worth watching the movie for.

This was the early days of computer FX. I'll bet access to new digital FX became a thing in the middle of production, changing the action a lot.

As a kid, I really liked this movie
I still enjoy this film, even today. Surprising to not hear a breakdown of how Shocker appears to be a ripoff/remake of House 3: The Horror Show.
