I couldn't agree with you more The only people that are watching this are welders and people that want to be welders trying to learn how to fix things. The last thing I like to see is every process and a long drawn out video.
I think you were spot on. Enough details to know what’s going on but not so technical that you get bored with the video. Your skill in your trade is displayed quite nicely. Very talented. Nice job.
There are no shortage of detailed line boring videos all over the internet. If someone "needs" the minutia from soup to nuts, there are plenty of other channels they can watch for that level of detail. Personally, I’m here to watch you work your magic to restore the equipment that gets destroyed from use, misuse or lack of maintenance. I don’t need an hour long video that I’m going to fast forward through in order to get the meat of the job anyway. Short…sweet…and to the point works for me. Thanks for asking for our input. It’s worth exactly what you paid for it. 👍👍
Although this vid was on a fast pace and we all have seen you already doing all the preparations and measuring, the detailed videos are quite interesting. But I can imagine, how quicker the work happens if there isn't always a camera in the way... 😉 Just keep your videos coming, be it the short or the detailed ones, always a joy to watch! Thx a lot! 👍👍👍 Sweet dog, btw...
As a self taught/learner welder I like the fact that you do the explaining as it gives me the info I need to approach my situations at work although it is all mostly on mild steel though. But long or short version...so far all the videos you have done so far is just perfect. So continue with what you are doing
Super detailed an explained helps those of us that are less experienced and want to get educated as much as possible. I enjoy the 50 minute videos where you explain literally everything down to what tool you are using and where you bought it etc.
Very good paced video in my opinion. Line boring is all in the name "boring" 😂😂😂 the explanation of what happened, and how your fixing it is the important part! 👍👍
My brotha, from one small business owner to another, i really appreciate the small bits of magic you throw out. You are making the world a better place.
For me an Explained and detailed version is always appreciated, don't know much of this work ,..but I enjoy whatching your videos a lot Thanks so much for sharing
video was good - nice detail on how you cantered the bar because you had questions from viewers on that, the rest was more what we have seen before, with explanation of what was out of the ordinary - I liked it.
There's so many videos out there if I wanted to watch line boring I could be occupied for several days before exhausting the high-good quality content. In all honestly, I'm here to see some fucked up heavy equipment and their components get reworked to see what I can do in my own field to prevent them from happening or mitigating the severity. You content is nice and concise as it is, good sir.
I enjoy both. Your explanations are pretty good and concise. I can tell you enjoy your work and you're good at it. recommendation is to keep doing what you like, cause if you don't like doing it, you won't do it for long.
Your doing AWESOME work, been around payloaders for 25yrs in gravel pits here in Nebraska didn't know they needed a little slack to move seen Cat repair man do this kind of set up very cool love the bird splatter Haaaa
Hi Greg, I think your videos are just fine. Between you and Isaac, have learned the correct way to line bore. Will watch the videos no matter what the length.
Hi Greg I have been lineboring for over thirty years when repairing bucket pin bores I always start with the main pin bores then move on to the tilt bores this makes the alignment easier.hope this helps
Great job! I like this kind of video of just "seeing it in practice", its super satisfying to see the welding and boring in action. As for explaining, no need to go into deep detail, chances are people watching you know somewhat what's happening and after a few videos, get the jist of it.
I have ADHD so I need a lot of info really fast to keep my attention. I liked the video this way. The only thing I could possibly ask for is to show maybe a tiny bit of the bore welding….to see a little bit of it actually welding rather than just the before and after. But the video was great. Thanks for taking the extra time to film and edit everything…..really enjoyed it.
The shorter the better for me as long as you hit the highlights, I’ve been around heavy equipment my whole career and seen it all pretty much but now I’m retired and really miss it so I really enjoy watching your videos, keep up the great work and I’ll keep watching!
A lot of us don’t have your experience. Some of us don’t have even close. Some of us have NONE. There is to be a middle ground for us all. We they say, the art of compromise, is when all parties are equally unhappy lol
I think the shorter format overall will be more attractive to a wider audience. Not being a welder, I don’t understand when you get into the finer details (like settings on your machines or the size of wire), but it doesn’t bother me either. This vid had just the right amount of line boring; enough to show what’s going on and then jumping forward to the end of that step. Would have been nice to see some of the welding (both by hand and the line welder). As others have said, I enjoy you narrating the problem and how you’re going to fix it. 👍🏼👍🏼
very good video you put the principal who is very interesting and above all you have very special tools that I had never seen before that's what I like about your videos and I saw the head of security outside he was serious 🐱🐱
Greasing the equipment on the regular helps too. When that pin seizes in the cylinder eye, it'll twist the outside around as you curl/uncurl and break that bolt.
Hi Greg I have watched all of your videos and really enjoy them! I understand that UA-cam is making a bug push for "shorts" or shorter videos but my personal preference is for reasonable length video (say 25-50 min) which includes a good amount of background as to what you are doing & why... This video was OK, but it might have contained a bit more information about the piece of equipment the bucket was attached to and the type of work the machine was doing. Even a generic picture of the loader it came off of would have been nice... With regard to the lower pins that you did not show, it may be received better by your viewers if you avoid saying "I'm not going to show that" but instead something like "I'll also be fixing the lower pins which I'll show you at the end of the video" I do prefer a bit longer videos with more information... Also, certain operations (such as screwing a bolt in and out might benefit by being sped up... The last thing I would recommend is for you to change your format! I very much enjoy and look forward to watching everything you post!
You should show at least 1 hour long video a month on complex jobs. Maybe have 2 videos of the same project. One for short and one long. There are new guys here and old timers. You have alot of knowledge and us new guys would love to see more of your thought process!
i like both vids quick and detailed you could put the same repair out both ways could call the long one asmr with out talking just the machines running. i do like your bore welding ones best
Shorter videos seam to translate well. Perhaps short detailed videos on each tool used could be a good archive/look-up clip, but keep those to (15) to (20) minutes long. I learned so much from this video: "Here we go again! Line boring loader bucket. Your explanation as the beginning setup the clip nicely and was easy to follow along especially since you left certain things out and rather told us about it instead. Thank you.
Mr. Greg, I've got such faith in you and your vids, I start by clicking the "thumbs up" and then I watch the videos. I wonder if they tried "super glue" of "shoe goo" along with their exotic "welding"...... LOL Side conversation: I tried the 3m cubitron sanding disc on my orbital sander to cleanup a painted steel table. It sucked!!!!! Loaded up in two minutes. Nice work on the bolt extraction. What was all that "dirt/crud" the tap pushed out?
I just found your channel, can you do a video on your service truck ? Interested in the engine horsepower, transmission, crane size, air compressor type, and of course your welder preference etc. Thanks ! I ran a service truck for various construction companies around Iowa before buying my own truck and following pipeline companies around the country.
"It's not supposed to do that" could be this channel's tag line. Re: level of details, it depends on the issue at hand. I would have liked to see the tape measure in action in this one.
Like the video. My question is, why not just use a shoulder bolt instead of a bolt bushing? Wouldn't a shoulder bolt be stronger? I know this would be more a deere design question....but I would like to learn.
The shorter overviews are just as informative as the longer format. I enjoy seeing your thought process more than watching every rod get burnt.
I couldn't agree with you more The only people that are watching this are welders and people that want to be welders trying to learn how to fix things. The last thing I like to see is every process and a long drawn out video.

😉
Just keep your videos coming, be it the short or the detailed ones, always a joy to watch!
Thx a lot!
👍👍👍
Sweet dog, btw...
Ugh. Is it really work done if there wasn’t a camera to witness it? I dunno.
As a self taught/learner welder I like the fact that you do the explaining as it gives me the info I need to approach my situations at work although it is all mostly on mild steel though. But long or short version...so far all the videos you have done so far is just perfect. So continue with what you are doing
I always watch Cutting Edge engineering videos he is also good at what he does
@@mistsemy1522 I'm also subscribed to his channel. I agree 100%👌🏼. Interesting content. Another interesting channel to watch is I C WELD.
I’m one of the people that will never do anything even remotely like anything he does. If I was being generous, I do 1% of what he does.
@@jamesbizs I get you🙂👍what they know and do comes from years of being in the game. What they have forgotten I must still learn😅🙌
I like both formats. Both are good for different times. I appreciate having both options on your channel.
My brotha, from one small business owner to another, i really appreciate the small bits of magic you throw out. You are making the world a better place.
I like it! Sometimes in the mood for a lot of explanation, sometimes it's just nice to see the work! Keep up the great videos.
I prefer the details. I see it once and can do it the second. Excellent content and exactly where I want my business to go. Keep ‘em coming!
For me an Explained and detailed version is always appreciated, don't know much of this work ,..but I enjoy whatching your videos a lot Thanks so much for sharing
This length video is fine for me. I love the skill and professionalism you've displayed on this job. Thank you from London UK
I like any info but the more the merrier. I learn & relearn things that I forgot. Thanks for the effort you put into the videos
The way you present the videos is perfect. Your workmanship and skill set is traditional excellence.
This video was really good. I really find the line-boring videos interesting. Please keep them coming.
Hello Greg, you’re a homie, love to watch your videos, entertaining and informative!
That was just the right amount of detail. Please keep the great videos coming!
I’m always amazed for your work.
Thank you for making a UA-cam Channel and showing your work.
You are doing a great job on all your videos. Keep up the great work as is!
video was good - nice detail on how you cantered the bar because you had questions from viewers on that, the rest was more what we have seen before, with explanation of what was out of the ordinary - I liked it.

I would like to see a super detailed video every now and then. Love the content you are putting out Thanks
Greg, your footage gets better and better with every video....I really like the tap turning the 16 2.0
thread out at 16:45.....Bravo....Paul
That was nice. Now Karen has to step up her game to match.
I like the explanations but this is a good format to throw in every so often or when you are pressed for time. Thanks again!
HI!!! we love your videos in Quebec, all time clear and witch many information tks
I enjoy both. Your explanations are pretty good and concise. I can tell you enjoy your work and you're good at it. recommendation is to keep doing what you like, cause if you don't like doing it, you won't do it for long.
All your vids are great !! The ones around 30 mins are the ones I enjoy. Not too short that it’s over when you get comfy and not excessive.
It doesn’t matter to me long or short video ill watch em all lol , and enjoy every minute of them too 👍👍
Very cool tools you have. I did like the intricate videos. I enjoy every type.
Your doing AWESOME work, been around payloaders for 25yrs in gravel pits here in Nebraska didn't know they needed a little slack to move seen Cat repair man do this kind of set up very cool love the bird splatter Haaaa
Myself, I would like a longer version and more detail. That's for all your videos.
Hi Greg,
I think your videos are just fine. Between you and Isaac, have learned the correct way to line bore. Will watch the videos no matter what the length.
Detailed bro! Love what you do and love learning more!
Whether it’s the long more involved methods or the short to the point both are interesting and informative I leave it up to you good job all around
I watch your videos to learn stuff I also enjoy How skilled you are...
You're doing great on the videos! Keep up the great job 👍 👏 👌✌️🇺🇸
A mix of both types of videos would great. That said, I love the channel as-is so either way I'll keep watching.
Great ! Loved it - beautiful work !
Hi Greg I have been lineboring for over thirty years when repairing bucket pin bores I always start with the main pin bores then move on to the tilt bores this makes the alignment easier.hope this helps

They sure did a great job on it... lol ... nice repair by you.
Would love a detailed vid on how you setup the line bore and welder and what you're looking for to dial it in to get those results
I do enjoy video's with a lot of explaining of what and why you are doing it a certain way.
I have ADHD so I need a lot of info really fast to keep my attention. I liked the video this way. I personally prefer a video that's super informative explaining and showing everything.
good seeing you at it Greg. cheers from Florida.......Paul
Just keep dining what you are doing over all bud. Awesome work all round
Great video, enjoyed watching it, very well explained
Thanks for explaining how the 3m bit for your angle grinder works, very informative. I will have to order them on my next mcmaster carr order
That Line boring takes some time to learn and you did dam good again.
My favorite videos pick out a detail or two to explain. This video is enjoyable.
20 mins is good.
excellent work
@On Fire Welding: I like this format for your videos. I find it interesting. Thank you for your efforts. 👍
we don't grease the pins Greg rubs hands together EXCELLENT
Nice video. I appreciate it.
Quality work! How long did that repair take start to finish?
Took about 5 hours
I think the shorter format overall will be more attractive to a wider audience. Funny, cause I see a lot of comment from people that do this work; that want shorter content because they already do and or know this stuff lol

I like the longer format with more explanation. I do enjoy the short ones as well
I prefer the longer videos but honestly your the one doing the work and producing the video so it's up to you. Thank you for the content
your doing great work there ! impressive
Good shot of the tap cleaning out the thread
Definitely like the longer detailed ones
For that type of repair, video was just fine. Liked it. I don't like too much talking anyway.
Great work awesome and take the time to show how it's done way cool
Just curious what keeps the bolt from vibrating out? Love what you're doing and this is the perfect length video.
Proper torque. Maybe some loctite
Greasing the equipment on the regular helps too. When that pin seizes in the cylinder eye, it'll twist the outside around as you curl/uncurl and break that bolt.
Like the short video, I learn how much work it takes to accomplish these situations.

This was perfect, no annoying rambling.
Super long, super detailed!!😊
Good too have that line bore quickment , perfect work every time..💪🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Love both types of videos.
i like both vids quick and detailed you could put the same repair out both ways could call the long one asmr with out talking just the machines running. i do like your bore welding ones best
I like the long indepth videos myself!! But I have a lot to learn!! Thanks!!
These machines are really amazing !
Keep it like you have it now, it's way more enjoyable.👍
Can we get a service truck tour?? Love the content keep it up!!
Nicely done and good speed. I would have liked to see the bore welding, just a bit anyways.
Shorter videos seam to translate well. Perhaps short detailed videos on each tool used could be a good archive/look-up clip, but keep those to (15) to (20) minutes long. Great videos man, respect from iraq
That chamfer tool is cool!
I enjoy both . Like a five course meal in an hour long plus ( single video or series ) video, or a quick snack or lunch in a hour or less👍🤙🏼
Nice line boring machine😊😊
You decide what and how you film the video i alway enjoy the content thank you for putting it out there
Mr. Greg, I've got such faith in you and your vids, I start by clicking the "thumbs up" and then I watch the videos.

Nice work on the bolt extraction. What was all that "dirt/crud" the tap pushed out?
That was what was left of the old bolt.
Great video, I wish I could apprentice under you.
I would love to see how the bore welder words. Great video . Thanks.
Beautiful work

I like both video formats (short and focused vs long and detailed). Thx!
Quick and to the point videos.
I enjoyed this video and it’s details. I liked your previous video of CAT 349 even MORE
Now that's a " FAB " realignment of wonky holes
"It's not supposed to do that" could be this channel's tag line.
Re: level of details, it depends on the issue at hand. I would have liked to see the tape measure in action in this one.
Short, sweet & 2 the point !
Like the video. My question is, why not just use a shoulder bolt instead of a bolt bushing? Wouldn't a shoulder bolt be stronger? I know this would be more a deere design question....but I would like to learn.
That’s just how they do it.
@OFW Thanks, I appreciate the response. Keep up the good videos.
