Salvation is dependent upon meeting 2 basic factors.... Romans 10.9&10 tells us that if we believe in Jesus Christ ...which literally entails all of His greatest work of dying upon the cross and shedding His blood for the remission of our sins...literally taking 100% of all our sins upon Himself as the pure sinless ultimate sacrifice for humanity's sin and we confess with our mouth (bearing no shame) that God raised Him from the dead we shall be saved. I do believe if a person hears the message and turns to God but does not turn their lives over to Christ then the message fell upon rocky soil and they did not truly believe in their hearts the Gospel message, and their voicing of repentance was as shallow as the rocky soil the Gospel message fell upon with them. They had for a short time remorse such as Judas had after betraying Christ, but not the true remorse that brings about real repentance of sins. It takes real change, which is brought about via the fruits of the Spirit being obvious in their lives. We are beseeched by Christ to become overcomers of sin and the world. When people commit suicide what is literally going through their heads is that "this is hopeless and nothing is ever going to change". Most of those who took such drastic measures to try to end their pain and distress - if we get to them and manage to save their lives will relate. "as I was faced with really dying it occurred to me that it really wasn't that big of a problem after all" and they suddenly don't want to die.The gal who called off the relationship really wasn't that big of a prize, and there really could be other relationships in their future.Or the loneliness could have been corrected by simply reaching out to other people and joining some groups or clubs and making some new friends. I have never met anyone who had not harmed themselves in a serious manner that we resuscitated that went on to try it again. Although there are some who do have repeated attempts ... the vast majority (not 100%) of repeat attempts were mostly a cry for help and not seriously threatening their lives.They still need to be taken quite seriously. Depression ,especially during the holidays, can be really bad. This is the time of year that suicides are at a peak. From a Biblical standpoint Christians who commit suicide were overcome in their thinking. But God does not lie. It is impossible for God to lie because He is not a man! If you are saved in your heart and speak it with your mouth, God means it. Being overcome by sad thoughts at times is a common occurrence among Christians and all humanity alike. Whether situational based upon life events or just some sort of melancholy mood it usually lifts in a short time. When it doesn't lift there is no shame in seeking help from a doctor or counselor who specializes in people with suicidal ideation. If you know of anyone who is suicidal, if they have a plan of action of how they will accomplish it all worked out don't leave them alone even for a short time and get help ASAP. If they say don't worry everything will be just fine and that they are over their crisis, don't believe them- still call in qualified help. If you can keep them suicide free for about a year (sometimes a little more sometimes a little less) they usually get over it and are just fine. People who go beyond this point of time need some seriously involved counseling and medication. Yes I know God heals and I have been healed repeatedly and stayed healed of various ailments ....but sometimes the healing simply comes from the doctor. Clinical depression is a serious chemical imbalance of the brain. I retired from healthcare over 15 years ago. This is my experience working with real people from all over the US and all walks of life and socioeconomic classes. The field of psychiatry may be taking a different stance today as so much has changed in medicine, but this was a great working plan to care for those people who are at risk and it worked. Spread the Gospel, be blessed and store ALL your treasures in heaven where it won't rot away and no body is going to be able to ever steal it from you.
i would have to say, here I am debating whether or not to go through, because of all the sin in this world. within my very own family. i am tired of the ignorance of ones that i love, and the cruelity going on here. so I am honestly debating on taking my own life so that I can be closer to God. i guess when i look at the bigger picture this is a very selfish, weak thought crossing my mind. i am not sure on what to do.

I feel you. I lost all my faith in a so called loving god. Total unanswered prayers have taken it's toll on me and it keeps getting worse non stop. Suicide is indeed a grave sin, but it is not the unpardonable sin. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that suicide is the unforgivable sin. That being said, it doesn't give anyone the license to take his/her own life. There will be consequences, but I don't think eternal damnation will be one of them.

I totally agree. I would not suggest that choosing death in any capacity is God’s best. Suicide is never the end of pain, problems, or suffering. Very often, it is the beginning of pain and grief for many others. God's best is life and blessing for everyone, always. He views our lives through an eternal lens. Suicide, though it brings an often premature end to a life on earth, does not condemn anyone to an eternal life separated from God. No one knows the heart of man except for Him.
